Interesting video. It seems likely that the trend of young people drinking less will continue. It’s so different than when I was younger in the early 2000s.

It wasn’t the business that did this. It was the server looking for a one time bonus.

I went to a restaurant recently with my wife for our anniversary. Had great reviews on Google Maps above 4.5 stars. Yes I know this should not be the only indicator of a good experience, but the food sounded good and it was in a neighborhood we don’t often go to. Something new.
When we got the bill, the server came to us and skipped past the food prices to the tip screen immediately. That should have been my red flag to stop and ask why she did that, but I didn’t. I tipped 20%, then later found out that they already included that in the bill. So I tipped 20% on top of the total that already included 20%. Needless to say I won’t be going back.

- Earthbound. I replay it every few years for nostalgia and just a feel good game.
- Xenogears. Hands down one of the best stories for an RPG.
- SOMA. The dark, post apocalyptic world is so gritty, I just love it. The ending really left me speechless.

Xenogears is an amazing story. I never got into the other games in the series. Do you know if they are worth it?

Ok, now let’s right a screenplay and get this made into a movie!

I also like to separate my work and personal life. I don’t often enjoy small talk and still find I suck at it after years in the work force. I would rather work from home and not deal with people.
All that said, humans are tribal creatures who need interaction with others. I’ve found remembering names, asking them how their day is going, and showing a -vague- interest in them as a person is enough to get by most of the time. Even if I don’t “want” to do it.
“Hey you said you were going golfing, how did that go?”
“Yeah, I spent most of the weekend doing chores and catching up on house projects.”
“Have you seen the latest Netflix show?”
“Im not much into sports, but I heard our team is doing pretty well this year.”
People remember those that treat them like a person. They also remember those that ignore them or otherwise invalidate them by not talking to them. If you want to have a job where you interact with people, you have to play the game.

Im honestly not a fan of Expedition 33 right now. I dislike the dodge/parry mechanics being nearly a requirement. Im going to give it a few more tries before I give up entirely.

- Comment on What games are just objective master pieces? 2 months ago:
Personally I think story can make a game stand out far more than graphics or gameplay. I also disagree that the game boiled down to one question. While it was the primary focus of the narrative, the underwater laboratories and world building/history was amazing.

I said the same thing the other day. They don’t care. They just want results. It could be a ham sandwich that is starting to mold, and if the ham sandwich got the same results, there would be morons out there wearing hamd sandwich hats.
