Im honestly not a fan of Expedition 33 right now. I dislike the dodge/parry mechanics being nearly a requirement. Im going to give it a few more tries before I give up entirely.

Personally I think story can make a game stand out far more than graphics or gameplay. I also disagree that the game boiled down to one question. While it was the primary focus of the narrative, the underwater laboratories and world building/history was amazing.

She is the main character toward the end. The story was great and I need to replay it

They’re going to get sued into oblivion, so that’s one alternative path forward.

They could have bought the game out and lumped it into their existing games. Alternate dimension Pokémon anyone?

I said the same thing the other day. They don’t care. They just want results. It could be a ham sandwich that is starting to mold, and if the ham sandwich got the same results, there would be morons out there wearing hamd sandwich hats.

Citation needed. I know you’re trying to be funny, but there’s actually a lot of evidence going back to 2012 that internet pornography addiction is an actual issue for many people.

There are anecdotal reports of antisocial behavior, erectile dysfunction, etc in many small communities. I think yourbrainonporn.com is a good primer and rebootnation is a forum with people trying and failing to stop masterbating even to their own detriment. Make your own decision though.
- Comment on TBH 6 was kind of a downgrade from 5 1 year ago:
Back in the civfanatics forum days, there were all sorts of mods for Civ4:BTS that made it so much cooler. After playing that and then playing Civ5, I was incredibly disappointed. Civ6 is better, but not by much. I still go back to Civ4 when I need my “one more turn” fix.
- Comment on Sid Meier’s Civilization VII - Official Teaser Trailer 1 year ago:
I played Civilization for years. When Civ 5 came out, I was incredibly psyched. I specifically went to PAX one year just so I could get new information on the game. When I finally played it, it was the biggest disappointment of my gaming life. It just doesn’t feel like any of the previous ones. Civ 6 is way better in almost every way.
I’m wary of Civ 7 though. How can they improve upon the game without adding minigames or breaking it into insane amounts of DLC eg. Stellaris? I probably won’t pick it up until it’s on a steam sale with all its DLC at 50% off or something stupid.
- Comment on What do you do with your time after leaving Reddit? 1 year ago:
Lemmy is my main social media now. I have been focusing on what I have control over in an increasingly crazy world. So studying for certifications that might lead to new work opportunities, catching up on reading books I’ve been postponing, and learning to garden.
Yeah, I spent a lot of time on reddit. The lack of content on Lemmy is a blessing in disguise.

- Comment on The later books are really something 1 year ago:
Consider the first three books one trilogy that completes a story. It ends with a cliffhanger that picks up millenia later with the next three. The two written by Frank’s son “finish” the main story.
I enjoyed all of them and will reread them at some point. Of all of them, chapterhouse was the weirdest of them.
