plus if you’re not an experienced cook and don’t really know what you’re doing (hell, even if you do and you make a simple mistake), a ruined meal means all those ingredients and all the money spent on them go to waste.

- Comment on When it comes to total water use, AI data centers are a drop in the bucket 3 weeks ago:
The people trying to profit from AI really want us to focus on the water usage because they have these rebuttals ready to go.
Notice they don’t have one for the power consumption, pollution, noise, or any other drain local resources.
- Comment on "Farms use more water than Al data centers" OK, I'll go without Al and you can go without food and we'll see who lasts longer 4 weeks ago:
I keep seeing this argument and it stinks of astroturfing. Probably to portray data centers the same as farms: a resource-intensive but necessary infrastructure. If they wanted to make a good faith argument, it would be good courses, not farms. And I could also go without golf.
Focusing solely on water consumption with these arguments is another red flag. Its easy to find false equivalencies with water, but no other project demands double the power output of the entire state it’s in, and not many other projects have as bad a ratio of taxpayer dollars spent to revenue generated.

- Comment on Until Dawn 2 - Announce Trailer | PS5 Games 5 weeks ago:
My wife is really into weird horror films, so I got her to sit with me and play Until Dawn. She likes it because she gets to participate without actually having to play. She enjoyed it so much that we went on to lksy every Dark Pictures Anthology game, the Quarry, and we even pre-ordered Directive 8020. So no doubt she’s going to want to get this.
- Comment on Nobody wants to work anymore... 5 weeks ago:
The sentiment that people don’t want to work anymore is correct, but not for the reasons they’re saying.
Nobody wants to do to the work of developing and mentoring entry-level hires. Hence entry-level positions requiring 5 years of experience in a technology that’s only existed for 3.
Nobody wants to do the work of making a productive work environment, instead saddling one person with the responsibility of three. And not paying them appropriately.
Nobody wants to do the work of making a product people actually want to use before aggressively monetizing it.
Nobody wants to do the work of researching a technology before milking it for every penny. See: AI.
I could go on.
- Comment on Colorado Governor Jared Polis once again vetoes bill that would make it easier for unions to organize 5 weeks ago:
Colorado has pioneered some really good pro-worker and pro-consumer legislation in the last few years, so this is especially disappointing. But par for the course considering how deep the anti-union propaganda runs.

- Comment on How do people with ADD and ADHD watch movies or shows??? 1 month ago:
When you watch a film or a series, you’re supposed to not think about anything else except what you’re watching. You aren’t supposed to daydream, because then you aren’t watching the show or movie, and you won’t follow along with the story, themes, characters, etc.
Well shit, now I’ve got to rewatch everything I’ve ever seen because I’ve been doing it wrong.
