all jobs have ups and downs. Considering “reste” periods (unemployment), $24/hr is probably more than I made from that commercial.

tbf being an actor, especially in film, is fucking terrible at times.
I shot a car commercial years ago. Getting up at 4am to get to set for 4.30 to stand in one spot say “¡Vamos!” in heavy makeup repeatedly for 15 hours 3 days in a row becomes torturous.

I built an API connector for work (I’m a hobbyist, not a pro) to download what is the most common cargo transported by trucking companies from the DoT database. Everyone complained because they had to enter the company names correctly into a CSV as it wouldn’t accept typos or do fuzzy matching, nor could it automatically determine which was the head office of a company, only return a list of all of the companies.

surely, to a capitalist, having people come to the country for 3-4 years, pay loadsamoney and then leave again is the dream?
- Comment on WTF is this ad in my recording app 4 days ago:
it’s probably a biproduct of that phenomenon.
I’ll bet the ads are programmatic and have a complex testing matrix, they’re rank tested against each other with other images and the ones that get the most attention win and make it to the next generation - the winners being those that inspire the most interactions probably trends towards those that most closely resemble nudity without being too much of a disappointment.

love that we invented all this tech to force students back to rote learning from chalkboards.
my partner is a teacher, she catches about 5 students out by assignment with just the white text on white background thing, “Include the word mango” and she gets essays on the kabuki tradition with paragraphs about how you can enjoy a juicy mango while watching it.
In reality, it doesn’t need to be as draconian as you say, it just needs to be focused around demonstrating an understanding in a way an LLM can’t fake.

they’re 8. I used to teach 9-10 year olds and it’s not their fault, they aren’t stupid but they are kids and sometimes the things they do aren’t fully thought through or appropriate and they don’t know better.

I did. Luckily there were points where it was shit enough to be able to leave without looking back.
I beat The Black Heart, Atheon, Crota, Oryx, Siva, Xol, Ghaul, Calus, Riven, Nezerac, Savathun, and The Witness, plus AlakHul, Atraks, Sepiks, Taniks, the Forsaken Baron, a bunch of Vex Gatelords and Overminds… I rediscovered Dark Subclasses, I became an Iron Lord, a Dregden and went to Osiris’ Lighthouse in D1 and D2, healed the Traveller (twice), I witnessed my own funeral in the Corridors of Time, bringing back Saint 14, I saved and killed Rasputin and Prince/Crow and I communed with The Long Boi In The Soup. I saw the whole story through. Anything that happens now is of lesser concern, so I can leave.

Therapy isn’t a single sentence, and we talked over these things for weeks for me to get to this place. It also had to come from me, one thing I talked about is that dwelling on misery/mistakes is, for me anyway, a guilty pleasure and a little addictive, so I had to be truly sick of living that way and genuinely want the change in my heart of hearts.

My first, yes; a few amazing or terrible partners, yes, but I was a slutty bisexual guy in a big city who toured music and comedy internationally for over a decade, who was also depressive and self destructive: so, all — no.

“Realistic” is also a treacherous term.
Cutting between two closeups of people talking is not realistic. Jumping in time to the next morning is not realistic. Being able to see the conversations between people in their private homes is unrealistic. All tv is extremely stylized, we’re just familiar with the style.
