I have been telling my wife “make a wish” for 18 years now every time I see 11:11 on the clock. Today we are celebrating our 14th wedding anniversary. We got married on 11/11/11 @11:11am.
Not sure what she’s been wishing for but it hasn’t been lots of money lol

Thankfully I’m in northern Germany so I don’t have to endure this silly season.

Skyrim was released on the 11.11.2011. I still haven’t played through. It’s about time.

Photoshop that year to say “1111” and it’ll be just like the computers of yesteryear available at the medieval dark ages mall.

In certain German and Dutch cities, this is a fantastic time to be outside. Or a terrible time, if you don’t like massive crowds of drunk people in costumes.

I’ll never forget. I got engaged that day.

Remembering those who died in service maybe…
“The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month” is when WW1 ended and is held as Remembrance Day across Europe .
BootLoop@sh.itjust.works 2 weeks ago
And Canada. I don’t remember it specifically but I am certain I was sitting in my school gym for a Remembrance Day assembly.
expatriado@lemmy.world 2 weeks ago
i remember 8/8/88 8:8:8, it was at the start of elementary school day, most kids didn’t care as much, my little mind though was big deal
bvoigtlaender@feddit.org 2 weeks ago
No way! It was actually the same with me on 12/12/12 12:12:12. I spent the better part of that day trying to explain to my high school class chat why it is a big deal (it is the last one like that until 2100, with two digits being the same). Nobody was in any way as thrilled about it as i was. I sat on the couch in the living room when the 12th second struck. Won’t be forgetting that anytime soon…

Have a family member born on 08/08/08. Easy to remember that one.

Probably heading to the city centre to pick up a copy of Skyrim for Xbox 360.
I got home, did my NaNoWriMo writing sprint, and then fired up Skyrim and played like 12 hours straight.

Most likely sleeping. I worked a night shift at the time. I definitely remember where I was at midnight the night before, though: picking up Skyrim at Gamestop to take home for my wife to play (I went in to work late to get it).
Droggelbecher@lemmy.world 2 weeks ago
Interestingly enough, I’m 80% sure, because it was a weekday, and I sat in the exact same spot for all of high school. The 20% are for the possibility I was sick, in the bathroom, or had a special class I had to leave our classroom for.
darkdemize@sh.itjust.works 2 weeks ago
On a military base in Afghanistan, ironically enough.
