The containers can increase your breads toaster compatibility :D
But overall I guess it’s a bit like pasta: different use cases (sandwich, sides for salad or soup, as a stand alone dish / food), regions with different resources for flour, fluids, spices, … and also different kinds of utilities (metal pans weren’t easily available everywhere, all the time and they take up space) and so on.
And all these things influence how the bread tastes, looks and feels. So variety in process (container vs surface, loafs vs flat breads, handcrafted vs automatically processed, …) leads to different results with different characteristics.
E.g. I love Apulian bread. It’s a loaf with a slightly darker crust, but lighter and soft on the inside. The crust gives it a slightly bitter taste, that makes it a bit rustic (the only thing better is a freaky baked sourdough loaf).
It’s perfect for sandwiches IMHO but for french toast it’s a pain in the ass. I use pan baked toast (different density, crust and form) instead and again: perfect bread for this dish. And then just imagine eating a Döner from half a loaf of grey bread, or toast, … blasphemy!

- Comment on If you're a parent, how do you prevent your kid from watching AI slop? 1 week ago:
No reason to downvote. You can’t keep your kids away from everything you think is harmful. It’s also not good for them, because even if you manage to do so, they won’t be able to properly handle it, when they’re grown up.
Explain to them what is what, what aspects about it are harmful and how to recognize it something is generated with AI or not.
Parenting isn’t about shielding your kids from everything you think is bad for them, but about preparing them to handle real life and it’s challenges.

Empty the sink if the water gets to dirty.
Use the dirty water to prewash very dirty dishes before you empty the sink so the “new” water isn’t instantly dirty again.

Don’t worry, you’re not a peer reviewer. It was just a funny coincidence
- Comment on Study Featuring AI-Generated Giant Rat Penis Retracted, Journal Apologizes 2 weeks ago:
Even better: one reviewer thought it’s not up to them to decide whether the images are okay. And another reviewer raised concerns, was ignored by the authors of the paper and then it was published anyways.
But I have to admit that it’s kind of ironic that your comment shows you didn’t read the article :D

- Comment on I’m small down there and get my fiancé off with a big dildo. Do you see any issue with this? 5 weeks ago:
my fiancé and I have a good sex life. She enjoys sex with me
That’s the relevant point right here. But you only mention how she feels about it. What about you?
In general, speaking from a woman’s point of view: a man that is not only not afraid to use sex toys (there are a lot out there…) but also knows what they’re doing and listens to what I want, is a jackpot in bed. No matter how they’re build. No downsides.
My spouse sometimes likes gigantic boobs and though I’m already build quite good, it’s not always enough for him. So we bought some huge silicone tits I can wear on top and seeing how happy it makes him is more than enough to overcome that little sting in the back of my head. Because let’s be honest: being able to pleasure you partner can make you feel very connected but also powerful.
So I hope you feel confident using this 8’’ bad boy because you have all the reason to.

Thanks for the additional insights!
I knew at least the part about swans. There was a huge pair of swans treating the small town they chose to live in as their personal garden and terrorizing people in traffic (pedestrians but people in cars as well). They were horrible but also treated like a holy cow, nobody was allowed to touch them and the official stance of the town was to let them be. So from time to time there were swan caused traffic jams and children knew to avoid them.

Afaik it evolved like that for better raping. At least that’s what our biology teacher told us, after we had to watch a video about duck mating.
There are also no real couples. Most of the time several males try to get it on with the same duck and it’s not rare that their object of desire drowns because they can’t wait their turn. Nature is fucked up.

Not only that, but patients who got sicker from overexertion because they were sent to a physical rehabilitation center. Or doctors being careless with overly invasive diagnostics or treatments. And then being left alone because obviously you didn’t want it enough to really try otherwise your situation would improve…

Time for this classic
- Comment on Roundup of Roundup 5 weeks ago:
Recently heard something related in a documentary about ME/CFS where scientific results (research about cell damage potentially causing patients not regaining their energy) was burried in favor of a not very scientific paper from (work)psychologists that instead proclaimed that the issue is mental and the patients just need to be motivated more. This affects the treatment (or better mistreatment) of patients even today.
Money affects which results get published and how far they are spread and this is very dangerous :/

Horror story from Germany: colleague from my former workplace was living a bit after away and always rented local AirBnB locations until she found several hidden cameras, including one in the bedroom. This was before the official ban, but I’m never going to use the platform again.
- Comment on Americans when someone try to sell them air 1 month ago:
It’s a money kind of thing.
I spend my elementary school holidays working on my father’s farm. When I moved to my mother I started to work for her instead. Doing chores and taking care of yourself was simply expected. No actual choice, since grown ups were out working, sleeping or taking care of the things you’re not old enough to do.
There is a point where people simply can’t afford it to not parentify their children. And the people you perceived as “poor” simply didn’t reach that point.
I don’t want to say my parents weren’t at fault but in that exact moment in their life they had no other choice, at least my mother, who also leaned way more on us.

parents asking their teenage children for for rent
German here. I enjoy bashing US Americans as much as the next one, but paying rent to your parents is something I had to do after finishing school with 19 (did a social year first and then went to uni and had to share my Bafög). And a lot of people I knew back then, had the same situation at home. At least for families with low income this seemed to be not out of the ordinary.
