All jobs are service industry now unless you’re somebody’s kid or relative. Things changed bigly over the last 20 years.

All those musicians singing about love and peace are indirectly supporting the war. How fucked up is that?

- Comment on Why do I drag my feet when it's time to start a new task even if I know I'll enjoy it once I get started? 3 weeks ago:
I don’t know why but this reminded me of a joke…“My parents took me to the doctor because they thought I had mono. Turns out I was just lazy”. I think that underneath it all we are like cows and just want to eat grass and bask in the sun as a default behaviour.

An OS that requires you to upgrade your hardware and now we are discussing performance concerns? The writing was on the wall.
- Comment on Why do people care so much that their friend or family member’s partner is attractive and not just loving? 5 weeks ago:
Better to be attracted by the person you love. In most cases men will fuck anything given the opportunity and they sure as hell don’t care about aesthetics when in that situation.

Yes. Do a time travel story and new tech will be seen as miraculous magic by those pesky Elizabethans.
- Comment on Guardian reporters wins investigative journalism award 1 month ago:
It’s quite obvious who funds it. The media companies. Bit of cognitive dissonance going on between the two, eh? Go watch a commercial, buy a product and hate somebody should not be a mission statement. Some good folk out there pursue the truth regardless of the “very expensive” façade but they don’t live in the corporate/capitalistic structure of “very expensive”.
- Comment on Guardian reporters wins investigative journalism award 1 month ago:
Good news. We need more journalists and less “media companies” in this day and age.

My non-sciencey group of “experts in the obvious” said the same thing.

Driving a manual is a bit tricky to start with but minimum practice and you’ll learn everything you need to know. Everything else is experience. Once you’ve driven it for a while, especially through various weather conditions, you’ll find that you have more control of the vehicle when driving a manual stick shift. Even three on the tree makes you more free.

- Comment on The road they drove to dump this trash literally takes to the landfill 1 month ago:
I balk at the idea of paying to dump your junk in a landfill site. I pay myself but that silly system only leads to broke people having to dump elsewhere.
- Comment on Showing your ID to get online might become a reality 1 month ago:
I preferred the pre-tech “phonebook” stage where all you had was your name (and whatever else was attached to it based on one’s own behaviour).
- Comment on Showing your ID to get online might become a reality 1 month ago:
I don’t like the idea but look where anonymity has gotten us. Lots of hate and false bravery hiding behind an alias.

Fuck that guy sucking my time with his ads. If I want to buy a ladder I’ll go online, or go to the store and buy one. Once all this world ending shit dies down let’s get rid of “advertising” as an economic concept. We don’t need any more socio/economic engineering, we need humanity and ecology.
