Smart kids. Bitcoin is a pyramid scam anyway, don’t let all of the fancy “techy” words fool you.

I do like the idea of business people doing business in a VR boardroom instead of flying all over the place and wasting company money on hotels and fine dining. Nothing to do with meta but how a VR tool can be used for things other than gaming.
I bought a Quest 3s about a year ago and am an old school, single-player gamer. Meta sure tried hard to get me to socialize and meet “friends” while VR’ing but I was never interested. Also, because of the whole surveillance layer built into new tech I worry about my interior spatial domicile information being exposed. Not that there is a big secret in a house floor plan but I just don’t like people sneakily looking at my shit.

No warning required. I wish for cheap Chinese EV’s, not that fat bloated crap they are producing out of North America nowadays.
The only thing I can think of is that the big car unions are charging too much for dues and the workers are suffering. /s

Canada is still sucking heavily at the teat of the American auto cabal. As a Canadian I want to bring in those Chinese EV’s and make driving affordable again for most Canadians. $60,000 average price for a vehicle. That’s jumping the shark big time! I do see a lot of positive changes regarding our conscious uncoupling though, as the poster indicates.

Three reasons: 1) It’s too bloody expensive. 2) Most people are scared to spend money right now. 3) The USA as a global superpower, is morphing into something decidedly more sinister.

Got it. No more Ubisoft support and no more money given. I’m not a big fan of unions but with no federal laws to protect the workers I am even less of a fan of union busters.

It’s quicker to write/type the abbreviation, so syllables don’t matter. Most common example of more syllables in the abbreviation than the words themselves is “WWW” (9 syllables) for “World Wide Web” (3 syllables). Quicker to type but longer to speak.

While we all still talk in “countries” the real world leaders talk in “globes”. Be true to your school, patriots. Eventually I hope you discover your school is one globe as well.

This reminds me of an Italo Calvino short story about a guy doing backyard telescope observatory space viewing (whew) and he spots someone holding a sign on a distant start stating “I know what you did”. The viewer now starts calculating exactly where he would have been at the time including light speed and distance light travels to reach him and all sorts of other calcs until he determines the time in the past and finally realizes “Whoa! He saw that!?”.

- Comment on On dasher! 3 weeks ago:
This is western lore. In the old west there were prostitutes in a lot of small towns and because of lack of infrastructure they would only be able to wash themselves once a year, during winter of all times. Because of the deep snow the wagon was converted with runners to pull it across the snow from town to town. Only one prostitute could wash up at a time though, so they had to take turns. A New Yorker heard of this practice and put it in a song that eventually changed with the times. The line used to be…“Dashing through the snow, in a one-whore soapin’ sleigh.” Merry Christmas and best of the season to all!

It was worse in the 70’s. We had to fill out a lot of forms in triplicate, using real carbon copy paper, and have them vetted and approved by the local municipal government, just to play tag.

The word “zeitgeist” makes more sense to me than the word culture. I know what “zeitgeist” means but the use of the word word culture is applied more generally to the point of being vague or anthropological. I grew up eating lots of McDonald’s so is my culture Scottish, or fast foody?
