I use both in my wood shop. Sometimes it’s easier to lay things out in metric or divide numbers, but other times it’s easier to remember an imperial number to go make a cut.

I don’t know all the details, just that the tire exploded and killed him.
- Comment on Who is the enemy? 2 weeks ago:
We had a local shop owner killed when airing up a tire with fix-a-flat. His wife ran the shop after his death and she did not mince words when someone asked why the shop wouldn’t patch their tire that had fix-a-flat.

No, that’s rot. I’m a woodworker who has reclaimed thousands of board feet of barnwood and also has lived in a house that had termites. That is rot.

When did they do that? Maybe it’s confabulation, but I could swear I’ve seen commercials on streaming in the last year.
I’ve had a bidet since right before COVID (coincidentally and conveniently,) so maybe I’m just confused. It was surprising when I found out there was a toilet paper shortage in the US, then finally seeing the empty shelves, but checked the cabinet and after seeing a few rolls realized we were fine for a while. At least a dozen friends installed them soon after based on our feedback, and I know of at least three dozen through them. All bidet, e’ry bidet!

Dante’s Divine Comedy is read similarly. Inferno, Pergatorio, Paradiso

That can be very confusing for a young person, I agree

She’s buying sex toys. Honestly, I think it’s okay to normalize it. Self sex is the safest and teaches a person a lot about themselves. At least he’s not being raised Southern Baptist (I hope.)

I see what you’re saying, and I’m not saying it can’t be useful or even helpful to individuals at times, just that it’s not scientific. It extends outside of what can be tested reliably.

You’re right in that you could learn about someone based on their hands. It’s the subjective nature of the predictions that make palm reading unscientific. There have been studies to show that certain health issues manifest in our skin. Palm reading isn’t focused solely on those issues though. It tries to predict all kinds of things (wealth, relationships, misfortune, etc.) How would you create a control group for a study like that?
- Comment on Can reading assholes be considered science? 2 months ago:
That would be like one research team coming to a single conclusion. Still wouldn’t make it scientific.
- Comment on Can reading assholes be considered science? 2 months ago:
Not any more than palm reading is a science (it’s not.) It could be considered an art I suppose, but science needs to be things that can be tested and produce repeatable results.

The effects of how this bothers you places you in the group of people you’re bothered by.

I use my bandsaw the most in my shop (maybe second to the sander now that I think of it.) I’ve had a scroll saw I got from my dad’s shop that may have come from my grandpa’s. Weighs a ton. I’ve had it ten years and never used it.

Scroll saw would be more effective for this, but the bandsaw would be more versatile.
