- Comment on Do you read analog clocks to the exact minute? How do you do this quickly? 3 days ago:
Did you know digital clocks experience drift? Your computer can’t keep accurate track of time, it generally uses the NTP to synchronize time.
Your smart watch either has access to the internet and or syncs to your phone time.
Your analog clock displayed on a digital smart watch also make have inaccuracies due to the processor and the load on it, the refresh rate of the screen, etc.
- Comment on Do you read analog clocks to the exact minute? How do you do this quickly? 3 days ago:
There are usually ticks for every five minutes, most clocks have ticks for each minute. It won’t officially become the next minute until the second hand hits 12.
If you get used to looking at analog clock with minute ticks, you start to get a sense of spacing. If you subdivide the interval of a clock with only five minute ticks, you know what time it is.

Start a foundation, advertise that they are passionate about cause, reach out to you to arrange an in person meeting with you or your legal representative, write a check.
But also, it’s not a donation. You are not a 501c or a 527. There is a maximum gift allowance that is tax free in the US. You have to pay taxes on top of that amount.
You should go through your bank because your bank knows the relevant tax laws and theoretically is capable and willing of countering money laundering

Age is correct here because if you ask your parents what ages they started dating you are asking at what age they first went on dates. If you ask them what age they started dating, you are asking what age they started dating each other.

My dude, if I don’t understand the scientific method you should call my boss and ask to have me fired.
I’m not making assumptions based on context that I don’t have. I’m offering possible alternative explanations, including that what they’re doing does not need to be scientifically rigorous.
Also, we’re missing context. You can observe issues that you deal with. You can use exaggerated language to describe it. It doesn’t mean the issues don’t exist. Maybe the issues are really obvious, and if we all knew the person, we would agree.
So the fact that they are observing an issue is not necessarily contrary to the scientific method. It could be with more context, but we don’t have that context here.
So the only point of contention is, is the context where the scientific method is required? If no, who cares? If yes, then it’s problematic but it also won’t pass peer review. But then, is it just for a class? If so, who cares? The teacher will shut them down and rightfully so. If no, peer review will catch it
- Comment on Now that I've got my conclusion, it's time to go look for evidence that only supports said conclusion! 4 weeks ago:
I’m confused. Person is writing a paper and looking for supporting evidence based on what they have observed. They are not running a study.
Science starts with what you have observed and you make a guess based on that information, and then you try to find out if you’re right.
For example, I see a big yellow orb in the sky a lot of the time. Why? Does the earth rotate about a big yellow orb? Does a big yellow orb rotate about the earth?
Being wrong about your guess does not negate that which you have observed. You might learn why you observe what you have observed but it does not take away from the fact that yes you have indeed observed something. This person has made observations and is trying to justify that using existing research. Again, they are not running a study. You don’t know if existing literature points to the persons hypothesis being wrong. You don’t know if it’s something that hasn’t really been studied so there isn’t that much evidence right now and person is trying to get someone to look into an issue.

You took a joking jab at red hat and suse a bit too seriously. But let me address at least the red hat portion of it.
IBM changed took away the Debian equivalent of RedHat: CentOS. They now have CentOS stream which is not what CentOS was – the free and open RHEL byte for byte compatible operating system. Arguably at the time, yes, I would agree with you – they were just selling enterprise services. But that’s not what it is anymore. They took away the stability of CentOS and had everyone migrate to RHEL or away. There were talks at the time that they were violating the linux license at the time. However, it was argued that they weren’t. Because they provide the source code for enterprise license customers, they did not violate the license. HOWEVER, they were cancelling enterprise licenses of people who were taking the source code to make RockyLinux and all the the other distros that came up to replace what CentOS was.
While yes, you have the freedom to do with the source code as you’d like when you have access to it, IBM is violating the spirit of what that means by throwing access to it behind an enterprise license.

I would be very interested in what you think about LMMS. It reminded me somewhat of FL Studio, but like I said I wasn’t really good at it so there may be features you’re lacking.
I have to say, the audio situation used to be a bit of a mess but it has gotten somewhat better.

Linux is free? I think you need to have a talk with the folks over at IBM about RHEL or the folks over at EQT about SLES
