Keep it coming I say! Noita is easily my favorite game of all time. There’s an insane amount of depth and replayability.
It's fire... Maybe concerning but fire still

So good! I love that I’ve got a ton of time in the game and there are still so many secrets and things I don’t know.
Sabata11792@ani.social 4 weeks ago
That feel when you accidentally dig to other half of the map, then find out about the secret other other half of the map.
ggppjj@lemmy.world 4 weeks ago
There are still secrets that nobody knows in Noita.
Eye messages, for one.

I wish I could forget about Baba Is You completely, I want that feeling I got when I did “What happen if I do … IS KEY?” again.

Especially the discovery of hidden content. Need amnesia device for this and a few other games.

I can’t believe that “My Summer Car” isn’t on here, I feel like it fits the theme of amazing but slightly disturbing Finnish games

Finland also has a Sesame Street-like heavy metal of dinosaurs making educational and children-appropriate heavy metal music for kids:

How have you forgotten Remedy, with Alan Wake, Control, and Quantum Break?
I feel like Finland might be where I belong. If only I could realistically learn Suomi…

Almost everyone there speaks English and very well. Never had any problem communicating.

Eh, they have a good school system I think and most people know English

I’ve played some of cruelty squad and it’s fun. definitely a weird psycho game I wouldn’t pay more than $5 for but still fun
Hubi@feddit.org 4 weeks ago
Cruelty Squad has been the most surprisingly enjoyable game that I’ve played in recent years. I initially thought the extremely positive rating was just elaborate trolling after looking at the screenshots.

The title screen theme is actually the Finnish national anthem
SinkingLotus@lemmy.world 4 weeks ago
Honestly love everything about that game. But by god I will never steal money from that guy again.
Being stalked by him gives me PTSD flashbacks from that butler in Tomb Raider.
Dasus@lemmy.world 4 weeks ago
Well we have long winters. That shit has an effect on humans who stay at these latitudes for longer times. In every sense, evolutionarily (light skin, blue eyes), culturally (we’re introverted as fuck) and personally (if you don’t supplement vitamins properly, mainly D, you will get at least slight changes to mood and whatnot).
I’d like to visit some actually Southern place, like in the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Africa or Southern Asia or Australia. First to just see a proper sunset. Secondly, to see whether not everyone is as much of a dick as people I generally have lived around all my life.

Laser@feddit.org 4 weeks ago
Dang I haven’t played Noita in like a week
Thinking about it, it’s weird that it has no native Linux version
Burghler@sh.itjust.works 4 weeks ago
What’s wrong with proton
Laser@feddit.org 4 weeks ago
By itself nothing. It was more along the lines of “why doesn’t the Finnish game support the Finnish kennel”.
Noita doesn’t even need proton, it’s using OpenGL so plain wine is perfectly fine.

Mfers live in a winter wonderland and yet every other death metal band comes from there
general_kitten@sopuli.xyz 4 weeks ago
One part of the reason might be because we are so strangers to sharing our feelings by talking that the only socially acceptable way is to let them burst in the form of music.

I think I saw some quip by Linus Torvalds about how Finland has such long winters with nothing to do, so it’s no wonder we have so many great information technology nerds.

I prefer bands like Skepticism, Impaled Nazarene, and Desecresy personally but each to their own 😉
HelixDab2@lemm.ee 4 weeks ago
Lots of weirdly emo ballads, TBH. The metal is good, but it’s still pretty niche from what I understand.

I know how fucked up and/or weird everything else here is… What the hell is wrong with Baba is You?
TeddE@lemmy.world 4 weeks ago
Its secret ending has a secret ending. The secret ending within the secret ending also has a secret ending.
To reach each of them you have to recontextualize what you thought the basic assumptions of game were to do something that’s almost impossible.
Kolanaki@yiffit.net 4 weeks ago
Isn’t that the whole game, though? Reconceptualizing things to solve puzzles? I was thinking maybe it had a fucked up story or lore; I’ve never actually played it, but I hella want to because the premise of swapping game mechanics with words and such sounds awesome.
problematicPanther@lemmy.world 4 weeks ago
I haven’t even figured out the regular ending yet

Land O’ 10 000 Lakes
bluewing@lemm.ee 4 weeks ago
Minnesota? We are already considered as ‘Canada lite’. But we also have a strong number of Finnish heritage living ‘Up Norf’. So as a Minnesotan, I will allow it.
Land o’ Lakes is/was a very old farm co-op store. They formed to buy milk from farmers and then turned it into butter and cheese. They also sold other things like feeds and fertilizers and fuels to farmers. Back in the 1970s, Land o’ Lakes was merged with 3 different farm co-ops and became Cenex. I’m still a member of Cenex.
The brand name lives on in grocery stores mostly as a brand of butter.
