Xi rides dragons and also “rides” dragons. xi/drag person-independent pronouns. That means xi’s pronouns are the same in first, second, and third person.

That’s why drag personally believes all RPGs with character customisation should have gender selection unless there’s a very good reason why not. The one good exception drag has seen is Pentiment - in that game you’re a mediaeval writer who hangs out with the monks at the Abbey. That story can’t be authentic with a woman player character. But that’s a very rare situation. Even games with named main characters can have gender select. Look at Prey and Mass Effect. It’s an accessibility feature.

This is understandable if someone has a strong gender identity. Most people don’t have much of a gender so it’s less important to them.

Woke means being aware that an interaction with a cop is a life or death situation. Cops aren’t your friends, they’re not here to protect you. They’re a threat, motivated by cruelty and love of power. When dealing with a cop, you have to speak gently, keep your hands visible at all times, and declare your intentions for every action. Or you could die. You could still die even if you do all that.

It’s very sad the way things went for Narcissus. He just wanted to mind his own business, it’s not his fault he was so beautiful people couldn’t control themselves. Any person would get as grumpy as he was if they were in the same situation.

Well, since you, personally, are a group of a hundred people with no ability to communicate nuance… yes. If you were an individual who could choose to add qualifiers and speak carefully with the goal of preventing more Trump, then you’d be able to criticise them. It’s just because you’re a media conglomerate with the subtlety of a truck that you can’t. Sorry.

You can publicly criticise them. It’s just when that criticism looks exactly the same as an org campaigning against them that it’s sus.

Narcissus was so hard done by. The guy clearly was not interested in pursuing a relationship, but everyone was still asking him out all the time. That’s harassment. Rhamnusia shouldn’t have answered Ameinias’ prayer for vengeance. She should have just told Ameinias to get over it and stop staking his self worth on a guy who isn’t interested.

What you need to keep in mind is that it’s not just voting, it’s also campaigning. If you’re a citizen who has opinions you share with your friends, that’s one thing. If you own a large online community that consistently puts out propaganda, that’s another thing. That’s campaigning. Voting for a candidate while campaigning against that same candidate is an action that confuses other people, because it’s self-defeating.

“In the Middle Ages, people actually had more leisure time and more holidays than we do,” cultural historian Witold Rybczynski tells ABC RN’s Life Matters.
“Leisure was more important in terms of everyday life than the work. The work was harder and broken up much more … compared to today.”

Drag doesn’t think the Koreans have oppressed the middle easterners. Or the Ethiopians. Or the Cherokee.

You can change Jesus. Just not to races that have appropriated him as a symbol while oppressing his people.

You can’t change the race to reinforce historical and present power dynamics. Changes that don’t affect the dynamics or which counter them are fine.

It’s like when a Discord moderator puts a rule that says no politics on their server. Everything is political, so now they can remove anything they don’t like with a justification.

You’re not being attacked. People are just refusing to give you free money. Lemmy.dbzer0.com doesn’t have the same problems, and they’re communist.
You can either dig your heels in, cry oppression, and stop working on Lemmy, or you can listen to other people and work to be someone they think deserves their money. “Identifying the goal” doesn’t change the outcome. And it’s wrong, too. Lots of communists on Lemmy who don’t like your server.
To paraphrase Gandhi: “I like your communism, but I do not like your communists.” People just don’t think you’re a good communist. Insulting them isn’t going to get you money.
