Fuckin gold.
The more foam, the longer a keg stretches (pure profit for the house). But sure, let’s gaslight the consumer into thinking foam is BETTER than beer: www.brewer-world.com/3-pours-of-pilsner-urquell/
In every brewery I’ve been to that has these pours, they adjust the price accordingly and you’re not getting ripped off anymore than buying a regular pint. I’ve never heard somebody say that foam was better than beer, but there are a lot of reasons for these different pilsner pours.
If you’re curious, I can ask my husband (a brewer) what the purpose of these pours is.
The purpose of these pours is to tell your customers in no uncertain terms that they’re not fuckin welcome. I’m firmly with the old bastard on this one, that pour is fuckin offensive. And it makes your beer taste like shit.
Thank you, that would be great to know. Had no idea they charged differently. There’s obviously history behind it.
Was also told by a friend that in some countries there are glass pour-lines below the lip of the glass. They are required to fill beer to the line, but different glasses have different levels for amount of foam.
Around us, there are no such rules. In some breweries you get 1cm, in other 3-4cm of foam, all for the same price.
They (Urquell) also teach this when you visit them as a bartender (idk if they still do it, but if your pub sold enough Urquell they’d invite you for a tour). They very much have an incentive to make it kegs last less, but they don’t.
Did… Did you watch it all? It’s a prank on a regular customer.
Now this is what life is about. Pull pranks on your friends and family, piss them the fuck off, then enjoy it as they found out it was just a joke. I fucking love it.
I love a good prank as long as it’s good-natured, doesn’t damage anything, and doesn’t put anyone in harm’s way.
Agreed.
Does anyone else find the 5 camera-angles detract from the realness of the video?
I mean, yeah, no TV is real, but this pretending that it is a real situation in this style of video irritates me in a way I cannot describe.
Am I being too picky? I don’t know.
Realness in what way? this video was made as a prank its not supposed to reflect a real situation
Yeah, I agree. I don’t feel like they were trying to pass it off as a real situation. The guy was a regular and they knew they could mess with him.
I think he means the ones where like someone is videoing someone who’s videoing something else. Or some ridiculous situation where it’s like “why would you even bother recording if you didn’t know something crazy was gonna happen.”
“ignore these cameras and have a totally real reaction while we prank you, please”
Oh that makes sense. Thank you. I am happpy too that he accidentally mic’d himself up in the morning so we could hear him having his totally real reaction to the prank he didn’t know about.
They’re quite good at what they do and have been doing for a real time. With consequences like getting banned from shops, but clearly they worked together with owners of the pub for this one (they sometimes cooperate with random local businesses for pranks).
Misfit minds on YouTube if anyone’s interested
Randy Johnson talks differently than I thought
He was never the same after he exploded that bird.
I once was on an international high-speed train that was stopped because of too much foam on a beer … that’s when it stops being funny.
Wtf did the passenger just pull the breaks and left or what
No, the passenger was so upset about the foamy bear they called the police. But it was the last stop before the border, so police couldn’t stay on the train and the passenger refused to leave the train. So they just stopped the entire train to take her statement on the train.
“clap clap for the handicapped” new insult unlocked, that’s a good one!
I’m gonna get fired for using that one at work and it will have been worth it.
If the head is bigger than 1 cm or so it’s a shit pour
Ever been to Prague ?
Or Japan? They love giving head. At least 3 fingers
Imagine being mad that you get less Carlton
If that were a Guinness it would be a perfect pour.
It would be out of spec. 10-12mm, of head is the spec for a Guinness pour, if I recall correctly
Which… will appear after a while as Guinness is the kind of beer that is so dang dense it will remain mostly level as the head turns to liquid. It was a joke.
Phil is a real one.
Try ordering a beer in Japan. They think there that the foam contains all the alcohol, it’s not at all uncommon to get glasses with over half foam
