Aside from the other issues here, there’s no guarantee that homeless people would use them. That’s already an issue in some places where there is enough shelter for them but they choose not to use it for a variety of reasons.

To be fair people have lived in multi-generational households for most of history and still do in a lot of the world. Wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world to be a little bit more connected.

Red Dead Redemption 2 may not be the exact vibe you’re looking for since it’s western instead of fantasy, but goddamn is it a great game. Rich and interesting open world packed with things to find and do, unbelievable attention to detail, immaculate vibes of being out in the wilderness.

As a huge Zelda fan and huge Skyrim fan I do wish botw had a bit more RPG-style leveling and survival to it, but I guess that’s just kinda reinventing Skyrim though and not really what LoZ is aiming for.
But I agree, in terms of exploration and discovery it’s second to none!

So would you agree with me that while the reasons were bad, they existed and that these were not places chosen to attack at random?
- Comment on Does it seem like US presidents just throw a dart on a spinning globe and say he lets start fucking with this or that country? Used to be arbitrary, now it seems the GOV no longer lie just do. 1 week ago:
Vietnam and Korea were proxy wars against communist powers as the US was trying to prevent the spread of communism during the Cold War. The Gulf War/Desert Storm was a war against Iraq in response to Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait. The pharmaceutical factory strike was a response to attacks on US embassies in the region, along with the likely bad intelligence that the factory was being used to manufacture chemical weapons for al-Qaeda. Afghanistan and Iraq were part of the Global War on Terror as a response to 9/11 and to depose anti-American and anti-Western regimes. Iran this time around is again allegedly to prevent them from gaining nuclear capabilities. The bombing of Cambodia was part of the Vietnam war.
It should be noted that these were more or less the official reasons, along with a healthy dose of American imperialism, wanting to spread American ideology, gaining access to fossil fuels or other resources, or distracting from unpopular domestic issues.
So there were always reasons for these conflicts, whether justified or not, whether public or ulterior.

None of those were arbitrary. They all had very real reasons behind them. I’m not defending any of them, but they weren’t chosen at random.

Which one seems arbitrary to you? They’ve all got reasons, even if they’re not good ones. They’re certainly not chosen at random.

- Comment on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake – Coming 2026 1 week ago:
You beat the tutorial area, then most of the map becomes explorable. You’re free to roam around the world doing side quests and collecting items. Sounds pretty open world to me. It’s not the definitive open world game but it’s pretty open world.
- Comment on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake – Coming 2026 1 week ago:
I think you’re splitting hairs a little bit but I think OoT is much more open world than open zone. Open zone is Sonic or Mario Odyssey. Oot is open world because, like Link to the Past and OG Zelda before it, it’s one big explorable map full of secrets to find at side quests to do at will.
The story progression is structured but that’s not at odds with being open world.
My prediction is that the map probably becomes one large and more cohesive map while the story remains structured.
- Comment on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake – Coming 2026 1 week ago:
Ocarina of Time was already very open world. Once you beat the Deku Tree almost the entire map opens up. You can go anywhere anytime except for west of the bridge the Gerudo Valley and a couple of small areas that house the entrances to temples.

And what if they’re able to avoid you? It’s definitely not worth the risk. The meta for Mario Kart Wii is very mature and established. If the top players aren’t doing it, you can bet it’s not a good strategy.
- Comment on Would it be a good idea to brake check someone in Mario Kart? 2 weeks ago:
No. The reason no one’s doing it is because it’s not worth it to slow down one person and let four others pass you.

This reminds me. If you ever think to yourself “I’ve heard a high dose of dramamine can make you trip, I’ll try that out!” - I super don’t recommend it, unless you enjoy the most paranoid and uncomfortable high of your life. You’ll feel like spiders are crawling on you and someone is watching you, you might even hallucinate a corpse or zombie!

It’s incredibly easy to find a male third.
A bisexual woman who is willing to join a heterosexual couple is much much harder to find. That’s why they call em unicorns.
