So let’s hypothetically say that the only signs for a candidate are homemade signs for some personality cult reason, definitely not posted by the campaign, and posted on public property. Wouldn’t be illegal to remove those, right?

I don’t know about apps, but they ultimately all get it from the National Weather Service. Since it’s a government service, the website is totally free of ads and other garbage. Just use that. Weather.gov. You can search for your home, and since it uses absolute URLs, you can then bookmark the results page and just go straight to that every time.

Project 2025 wants to disband NOAA and give its functions to Accuweather instead, directing taxpayer funding to a private company while also locking all weather data behind a paywall, so they get paid twice to provide the same info NOAA currently provides with a single payment (taxpayer funding). The Accuweather founder, Joel Myers, and his brother, Billy Lee Myers (unsuccessfully nominated by Trump to be the head of NOAA), are major Republican donors, but I’m sure that is completely coincidental.

Seriously, I just finished my annual “preventing harassment’ training and there’s a whole section on power differential and how just asking puts employees in a bad spot. Just…don’t.

Nothing about the 1995 Dredd movie? What makes a cult classic is highly subjective, but I think it should be hard to find. Makes the hunt more fun. I found out very recently that Big Trouble in Little China is not really available on streaming services. I bought the blu-ray.

And here we are: thedirect.com/…/godzilla-minus-one-blu-ray-releas…
Despite the misleading URL, it’s a Japan release date of May 1. No announced US date yet, but for sure it’s going to come. This link also doesn’t mention 4k, but over in Mondoshop.com they say it is. Both color and minus color versions included.

There are still some standouts, like Oppenheimer. If Godzilla Minus One has a 4k release with both color and B&W, that’s a preorder for me. Planet Earth III is also great.
- Comment on Will people show off their old computers and phones in say, 30 or 50 years in the future? 9 months ago:
I’m not sure, because cars were more widely seen as a status symbol in the US (because they were marketed that way). I would bet that a much smaller percentage of people in the US see their phones as a status symbol. Other countries may be different. Remember all the premium phone brands like Vertu? Or the gold Apple Watch?
- Comment on Do Teslas have OBD connectors? 10 months ago:
Not Tesla specifically, but anytime I look at the included navigation of a “legacy” manufacturer I am immediately reminded of the difference. Thank god my Chevy has CarPlay (that I didn’t have to pay extra for).
