Came here for this. Thanks!

Ironman doesn’t seem very gay in this picture. It would be a queer boner to take dick from him.
(Iron man doesn’t seem very happy in this picture. It would be an odd mistake to take advice from him)

I don’t believe you. I think Marvel was around in a time where it was normal for two bros to give each other the D to cheer one another up.

…however, this panel is from 2022.

Yeah, back when Captain America needed some solid dick from an IronMan.

“Maybe I do, shellhead…” Rogers mused lustfully, “Maybe I do…”

Funny how that particular slang term kind of shriveled up got tucked away.

If only people could accept that English being a living language isn’t just about the past, but words are changing now, and that’s OK.
This is for the people who gouge their own eyes out when they hear people say “unalived”; the people who (suspiciously) insist on the clinical definition of pedophile; and “it’s called a magazine actually” gun-brains.
LurkingLuddite@piefed.social 2 hours ago
“Unalive” is stupid NOT because language changes and ree, but because it came about via over-censorship by megacorporations.
terranoid@lemmy.cafe 10 minutes ago
it wasn’t over censorship. It was them choosing to not show children stuff that probably talks about adult themes, like death. Because maybe you shouldn’t be talking about blowing someone’s head off to children, right? Sane decision.
Then influencers decided they wanted money and more money meant avoiding the algorithm from noticing you talk about adult themes, so they show more users ie children, and kids love watching weird shit especially if it’s talking about adult themes. Then you get a bunch of weird fucking influencers talking about people “unaliving themselves” and targeting children viewers

This about sums it up. There’s a vast difference between a language naturally evolving to fit the times and whatever the fuck ‘unalive’ is.
roguetrick@lemmy.world 1 hour ago
I always find it amusing when people are arguing their perscriptivisim is the actual descriptivism. Part of how the language changes is precisely based on objections to word usage and lack of understanding. Those very objections are what give words character. People can agree that yes it is a word in the linguistic sense while also arguing that it’s a dumb word or a dumb usage.
Jax@sh.itjust.works 1 hour ago
No, no — see, skibidi is actually a valuable addition to the English language.
What does it mean, you ask?
…
That’s right, it sure does. Have meaning, that is.
