Someone made a c/linuxsucks somewhere but they banned a shitload of people and then stopped posting so I dunno
They did memes like “imagine using a shitty package manger and having to do all that work when you could just click update and be done”
And I’m not sure if that’s meant to be trolling or tryharding TBH
- Comment on [Video] Hasan Piker wonders why he is banned from the UK but Elon Musk is not after inciting race-riots in Belfast 1 week ago:
He did not shock his dog, but there is a clip where he reaches off screen and then the dog, who was moving at the time, yelps.
Circumstantial evidence at best, but of course the haters RAN with it. No one wants the anti-gambling, anti-zionist, anti-capitalist streamer to be popular. It’s incredible the bullshit they spread about this guy.

Or rather, he’s bringing attention to the protests using his star power that they wouldn’t otherwise get.
Also, didn’t most or all of the socialist-leaning anti-Zionist candidates he campaigned with win their primaries?
If you have a platform, use it. Dude’s meeting people where they are, not sure how that’s for “clout” now that real change is being made. Why do you think Fox News is constantly up his ass now?
- Comment on Has anyone else noticed the strong pro CCP and anti-west vibes here? 1 week ago:
Yeah a lot of people in the USA thought we’d still had a chance to come back after 9/11, even if the before-times where also a farce.
2016 the mask came off at home and 2024 they’re not even trying to hide anymore

See, this is the issue. Someone doesn’t absolutely obliterate China and the .world liberals all wake up and spout their state department talking points. “China BAD! Leftists tankies!”
What about any of that was untrue? Where’s the tankie part? Cite examples.

- Comment on Why exactly are nursing aids paid so poorly? 2 weeks ago:
My wife and I had to pay $1600 a month for daycare as things opened up after the pandemic. The teachers there would have made more working at the Burger King across the street.

Maybe it’s poor framing to get others to read on without being scared away by what feels on its face to be hyperbole
But “I don’t understand this economy where”
Yes, Yes you do. Say it. Say it, coward.

- Comment on Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer 2 weeks ago:
I dunno I kinda miss this version of Microsoft. They were still shitty and evil, but at least they were trying to be memorable and they were genuinely trying to sell you a computer to do whatever you wanted to do with it.
In the years that followed we started getting buggier, slower software, DRM, forced cloud migration, and AI scanning of everything on our machines and in our messages.

Yea, TVs are all “Smart” now. But they don’t have any truly new or useful features, they just record your conversations and transmit occurrences of keywords as “usage and diagnostic” data. I guess now they can use wifi to do occupancy scans of your house too, so that’s fun. Oh and they use Bluetooth to scan for nearby devices that are willing to cooperate in case you don’t put them on the LAN and they transmit that way.
Anyway, TNG has left Netflix. Can you fucking believe it?

if it HAS to be -dp and you can’t also use -pd then it is implemented incorrectly.
Dunno why you’d ever do -pd, considering, but still

- Comment on What is the deal with IPv6? 3 weeks ago:
IPv6 has the same level of security as IPv4.
If you mean to say that IPv4 NAT provides security, well please never work on any networks that I need to use.

They’re not traced because they used to be illegal and they shouldn’t ever be taxed because they should be made illegal again.

The system should take more of a cut, if that’s the argument we are going with.
Also? A new realization event should be defined: collateralization. When you take out loans against the value of your stock/bond/whatever holdings, you are realizing gains from those assets - you wouldn’t have gotten the line of credit otherwise.
People argue that this would prevent homeowners for taking equity lines of credit for improvements but that’s easily remedied by the collateral not being a real asset.

You often needed to switch memory card to change between games, depending which card your save was on, and people would certainly not turn the console off to do that, nor does the GameCube manual say you should.
You didn’t need to turn the console off to change games? In a disc based system? Wut?
