- Comment on The ‘996’ work trend comes with dire health warnings 4 days ago:
Increasingly, young tech firms are embracing the so-called “996” work schedule — 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., six days a week.
Who would agree to that?
- Comment on What are the demands of the No Kings protests? What's the plan if they win? 1 week ago:
To keep with the analogy: the goal is to step on the brake … aka apply the checks and balances supposedly built into the system and stop letting Trump just do whatever he wants without consequences.

- Comment on Which career to pursue? 4 weeks ago:
Don’t go into coding if you don’t have a passion for it and are just looking for a lucrative career path. With the exception of some niche specialties, that field is over saturated.
Disclaimer: The following suggestions are uninformed guesses and should be treated as such.
If you want to go through school, maybe psychiatry? Lots of interesting insight into people that can help inform your stories. Plus, the mix of growing normalization of mental health and current trends, I see this as a growing industry.
If you want to skip university, look at trades like electrician, plumber, nurse, etc. Good money and, at least for now, there is a lot of focus on careers that require (or at least favor) 4 year degrees, some competition for work is significantly less.

- Comment on LinkedIn’s cofounder Reid Hoffman says seeking work-life balance is a red flag that you’re ‘not committed to winning’ 6 months ago:
These narcissist CEOs cannot grasp the idea that “life” is employees working for themselves and pursuing their own interests instead of working for others.
What kind of commitment does Reid Hoffman have towards seeing his employees win?
What kind of profit sharing do LinkedIn employees enjoy? What’s the salary / compensation disperancy look like between the average employee and the C-Suite executives? What’s the medical insurance and parental leave packages look like? What about education reimbursement?
Seriously, who is “winning” in Reid Hoffman’s ideal scenario?

- Comment on It's 54 degrees Fahrenheit (12 Celsius), raining moderately hard, the rain is cold, and there's a guy blowing around wet leaves with a leaf blower. What the hell is the obsession with leaf blowers? 10 months ago:
You’re having a rough day. Seems like everybody wants a piece of you and they aren’t kind about it. So you put on some ear protection, grab your leaf blower and step outside. Nobody bothers you out there. The leaf blower yells nonstop the way you wish you could and even though you aren’t doing the yelling, there is still something cathartic about the noise. It creates a bubble where you are left alone. As the minutes pass and the debris collects into neat little piles, you can slowly regain your calm. The urge to explode, unleashing your anger and frustration, in an irreparable way ebbs and you feel like you can hold your shit together for a little while longer.
Or they are in a feud with their neighbors and are trying to piss them off.

Do they? Most cartoon kings I can think of have either white or gray hair.
- Comment on Soup help needed 10 months ago:
So many questions:
- Is the soup hot or cold, in the hole?
- What type of soup is it?
- Is it gluten free?
- Is it vegetarian or vegan?
- Did they even taste the soup to know that it is, in fact, soup?
It is the lack of these type of details that make me suspect that this is not real.

- Comment on who is part of my family and who isn't?? 11 months ago:
Personally, I consider family to be a social group more than a biological relationship. I have relatives that I’ve never met in my adult life that I don’t consider family. Conversely, there are people I consider family that were brought into my life through marriage, adoption, and close friendships.

Not born wealthy, but there was Ronald Read who lived a modest life resulting in a multimillion dollar estate when he passed in 2016. He left most of it to local library and hospital.
- Comment on What's the term for someone that likes Jesus of Nazareth, but doesn't identify with church, religious dogma, or whatever? 1 year ago:
While not a term maybe a short blurb like “While I am not religious, I admire many of the lessons of Jesus as portrayed in the Bible, and I try to model parts of my life after his example.”
If applicable you can also add “Along with others I consider to be positive examples for leading a good and virtuous life.”
