So now we can add “directly capturing a sovereign leader” to the list of crap the US has done. So what do you think will actually be “the straw that broke the camels back” for world leaders to actually do something? Think it’ll be significant or something mundane?

    I agree that a general strike could do the trick, but the challenge will be getting almost everyone onboard while still allowing the working class to eat and have shelter. By design, working class Americans have little means of weathering a long term general strike, and the upper class has enough wealth to ignore it unless it’s a prolonged effort. A general strike for a few days will not cut it.

Aside from some vague mumbling about ”the importance of international law”, the Swedish PM celebrates the US capture of Venezuela as a liberation. At this point I believe Trump can take Greenland with little more than stern looks.

It’s also increasingly clear that Trump enjoys a wide, perhaps perfect, acceptance among the US populace. While many would prefer other leadership, he has yet to do anything that are against the values of average Americans. Things widely accepted include, sending people without trial to the horror camp Cecot, building concentration camps in swamps and carrying out direct acts of war against sovereign nations without congressional approval.

  We must be looking at different polls, because the ones I’ve looked at clearly show him having terrible approval ratings. Definitely not even close to a simple majority or “wide, perhaps perfect, acceptance”.

    Approval ratings measure political preference, I mean acceptance of what Donald Trump is doing as the fully legitimate exercise of presidential powers in the name of the American people. I have no longer have faith that there is any amount of ghastly shit the Trump regime can inflict on the world before that changes. No significant amount Americans can’t be relied on to disrupt the regime, because they tolerate it: nothing Trump does is fundamentally alien to Americans’ values to the point that they can’t abide.

    Ask yourself by what factor Americans, on average, are more likely to take up arms against Canada than they are to join Canada in defending itself against the Trump regime. You’ll get a pretty good feel for if you think Americans align with the regime or the free world. Do you think the ratio would be lower than 10:1 in favor of the regime? Even if you counted non-violent (but material) resistance to the regime as siding with Canada, I think it would be far higher.
    
    Ultimately, it doesn’t matter if Americans on aggregate skew towards supporting the regime out of Maga conviction or fear of being on the losing side. The end results are the same.

  China fundamentally can’t be the world leader as it’s incompatible with the rest of the world it would have to lead. Here we are talking about this on american led internet - not Chinese great firewall. The only thing people want from China is the stuff they make not the Chinese culture or leadership.
  
  The reason why US is so successful at leading the world because it’s basically a giant haven for other world cultures which makes it easy to integrate anywhere.

    China doesn’t necessarily have to lead to control. Look at their investments in Africa over the past decade. The US stopped investing in developing nations so China took the lead over the fastest developing continent. They’ll have a ton of influence there for a generation at least, will be able to secure deals and lock the US out of them.

    VGA meant to say that China would replace the US if they acted better. VGA is not blaming China for the US.
    
    However I will assign a little blame to China for Trump because TikTok helped get Trump elected. I strongly suspect that there was a backroom deal between TikTok/China and Trump prior to the 2024 election.

Russia and China have the capability to sink US navies with nuclear strikes. Minimal environmental/civilian damage when its done during deployment. More global support for them doing so is what is needed. A more peaceful solution is US colonies ending their alignment with US, and contributing to its economic collapse.

    EU’s war intensification on Russia is purely submission to the US’s war on Nordstream, and US’s war on Russia that never ended. Entirety of it is evil on purely false pretenses.
    
    The EU is incapable of resisting US while maintaining a war on Russia, and the main distancing from US it needs to make is obeying US warmongering policy towards world including Russia and China. It is US and US alone that is a threat to world/global security. But total control over devoted colonies is essential to its evil.
    
    While I disagree with labelling Russia and China as abusive, the only relevant question is which side is the lesser abusive. Getting that wrong is what makes NATO and other colonies part of the problem.

    They also have a magic infinite range torpedo. A nuke sinks entire carrier group. It doesn’t need to be used. Just US ordered to withdraw fleet.
    
    The likely reason for no intervention is that China is being given Asia and Africa, Russia the CIS, and Russia and US will split Europe with Europe choosing the wrong side for many years to come.

World War 3 isn’t the answer, not with the biggest players in the defense industry being US based.

If the change in power were due to military power, the EU would have to switch to not relying on the US…which is what they’re starting to do!

A more reasonable scenario would be financial: the world deciding to not use the US dollar as the currency standard and start cashing in the US debt.

What’s going to stop it? Short of a new world war, total economic collapse following government and corporate irresponsibility, man-made disasters, and greed in general – once they get rid of the controls, the checks and balances, and emasculate the agencies like SEC and laws that are supposed to limit corporate irresponsibility and enforce civil rights.

However, Mainland China is highly likely to fill that global power vacuum once the US collapses, and where I live I can still feel its heavy influence in terms of voluminous imports of cheap goods, and it’ll continue to loom larger over my people even long after I go out in this existence.

He has been working to undermine plenty in his own party be “primarying” them. I think the majority of republicans in congress want him gone, but are just afraid to be the one that steps forward unless they all do…

The answer is simple. When you see an American Soilder. Kill them When we’re in your airspace. Shoot it down without question or guilt. Do not trade with us. Do not speak to us. Treat every boat, plane, vehicle- whatever, as a threat.

The shitheels in power belive with thier whole hearts that nothing will be done and they can do whatever the fuck they’d like and it will never effect them. Prove them wrong. Kill them. Place thier heads on pikes and light them on fire, burn thier estates, turn the Whitehouse to glass; take Trump seriously, and make sure every single threat or comment he’s ever made results in complete and total humiliation.

    I’ve known people that have done that. They were very poor, and never stayed very long at their jobs, so nothing ever happened. As an mass organized thing, it could be an effective means of civil disobedience (Thoreau famously refused to pay taxes).

World leaders are doing things. Europe has committed large sums of money to building out their defense industries, China has been building out it’s military capabilities for decades, Canada has used tarrifs to strategically punish the US for it’s tarrifs on Canadian goods and joined the European defense partnership, presumably to gain access to the aforementioned defense industry build out in Europe. Japan is increasing it’s military spending and moving to amend it’s constitution to remove the restrictions on military force.

Sanctions against the US like those on Iran are possible, but for a country as large and wealthy as the US with such a diversified economy, even if the entire world sanctioned the US it would plunge them into desperate poverty.

It would wreck the US economy, no doubt, but most world leaders are not willing to even suggest their people should endure that level of hardship over Nicolas Maduro. And the US would still have most of the world ability to project military power, so driving us into a corner like that would be incredibly dangerous.

Make no mistake, every world leader and especially every head of state in Latin America is considering the chance that delta Force could pull them out of bed at 3 AM, I imagine Sheinbaum in Mexico, Lula in Brazil, have a few new grey hairs and especially Cubas head of state is sweating bullets. They don’t have the power to prevent it.

I am personally reviewing my options for how to protest this action.

  Yeah - people and countries are trying to get out of their dependency on the US, but they are trying to do so kind of stealthy to not get in confrontations with Trump (who is totally one to escalate stuff if he notices) and also in a way to minimize their losses.

Proliferation of spaceships for everybody. Obsoleting the old paradigm we’ve all been artificially hog-tied to.

Zero point energy, zero inertia propulsion, can print another of itself instantly, can sustain human life indefinitely, safe enough for a 2 year old to fly home in.

Aim high.

No need for these resource “wars” jingoism. No human cull necessary. Abundant resources and space.

Overlap of tech that avails all space to us, as tech that allows clean sustainable efficient use of earthly resources.
