Idk I think those are exactly the people who would be most motivated to improve society. Those and people intrinsically motivated by the work. I want to actively discourage the people motivated by greed and power. Governance should be a service and a chore not a meal ticket. I’m sure there are other adjustments to the incentives/disincentives you’d have to implement to achieve that but I think my plan is a valid outline. Strong punishment for corruption would also work as an effective backstop, when paired with an independent and free press that is not fully captured by big business.

At $15/gal or so it is economic to make gasoline from syngas or producer gas which you can get by pyrolysis of wood or trash or almost any waste hydrocarbon so. There is a ceiling to price.

There’s an easy solution to this that everyone is ignoring. Put a power drill on a table between the bathrooms. Everyone has to pick it up before they go in. If you press the trigger twice when you pick it up you’re a man, everyone else uses the other bathroom. Problem solved, no invasion of privacy.

I’ve said this for years. Live in dorms. Cafeteria food. Minimum wage. All assets put into trust and in a vanilla total market fund for 5-10 years after service. It should be like jury duty. I’ve not met a single person who disagrees with this system.

Clean up the dog shit in your yard if you don’t regularly. That’s likely part of the issue. Also these fly traps work great (we have dogs and chickens).

Those issues are really only a result of overuse of inputs driven by meat consumption, fuel ethanol production, and basic misunderstanding/incompetence at agroecology. Not hard problems to solve if regulatory tools can be used. Wouldn’t be an issue if you could get rid of industry groups and lobbyists etc.

We should be ecstatic about the population decline. The surplus production from automated/industrial systems can more than make up for the decline in population. The resource issues are purely a matter of distribution. The people who oppose the common sense solutions to the distribution issues can be sidelined or composted.

But none of it is so simple that it can’t be done by a computer. Instead we need a whole industry of middlemen because it’s so convoluted and opaque…but also they know what you owe, and then want you to tell them. It’s fucking dumb.
