With heavy factionalism, anywhere from center-left vanilla Dems to far-left, they have competing, conflicting views and ideologies, some factions claiming they’re better than others by virtue or purity, and of course distrusting each other. There’s a loss of focus, so instead of dealing with an enemy determined to end their existence, they constantly scrutinize others’ supposed moral purity and looking for skeletons in the closet.
Meanwhile, the horrible but seemingly unified far-right – white, Christian, full of machismo – have a definite goal of achieving totalitarianism, and only after they wipe out the opposition do they would split into factions and fight over the spoils. Familiar, huh?

The 1970s… some people romanticizing it because they think it’s cool and cheesy, kids are “latchkey” and no one trying to mind your manners. In reality drug abuse was really full-on, some US cities were plagued by crime in the open, there were all kinds of shock and gore movies, and sexual permissiveness is so low that even minors are not spared.
No one should wonder why some men “thriving” from that decade were really fucked up, now curb-stomping civil rights so that they could get their own “freedoms”.

- Comment on What launcher should I replace Nova with? 1 week ago:
Lawnchair.
The free version of post-acquision Nova will be, of course, enshittified with popup ads. Therefore, it’s still possible to roll back to a much older version (aka last year’s) and – through the Play Store – prevent that app from being auto-updated.

Most tourists are usually mindful of the country they’re visiting, but then most Mainland Chinese are former farm peasants who suddenly got wealthy for some reason and live in big cities, so able to even travel abroad, but unfortunately have little to no understanding of etiquette and how to properly conduct themselves elsewhere.

I have to go to Google Play then to the app’s store page and get to the triple dot menu on the upper-right corner, then choose to disable auto-updates.
- Comment on Nova Launcher unashamedly inserts malware ads into your home screen now. 3 weeks ago:
Either use a different launcher or roll back and block the app from updating itself.

Yeah, it’s a very long game played by ultraconservatives wanting to “beat the devil”, notably Roy Cohn (fucking dead) and others like him in Heritage Foundation wanting to see Supply Side Jesus.

Because he’s a meat puppet for the world’s oligarchy who want him for different reasons (1) remove restrictions to global illegal transactions (2) magnify climate change denialism (3) destroy science and education (4) advance ultraconservatism (5) destroy progressivism and social justice (6) give a lot of freedom to the oligarchy.

10-15 euros is a large amount of money where I live at, it would feed a family of five for a day.
You’re living in a country where nearly everything is accessible in 15 minutes of walking or less, and I guess your local resto serves cheaper food. However, I also guess there’s some inflation going on and/or higher cost of living, that’s why you see fast food restos as being more expensive, although they do exist partly because of convenience, especially if in a car and a drive-thru makes it faster to grab whatever lunch or dinner.
- Comment on What's it going to take to truly stop the US? 1 month ago:
The best answer seems to be what most smart countries are doing right now… slowly unwinding their dependency on the US and finding alternative suppliers for everything critical they need so they can get the leverage they need to criticize and resist. This has the added benefit of isolating the US economically, reducing its currency’s ability to influence things.
What Mainland China is trying to do: win countries deemed to have been alienated by the Americans.

- Comment on What's it going to take to truly stop the US? 1 month ago:
What’s going to stop it? Short of a new world war, total economic collapse following government and corporate irresponsibility, man-made disasters, and greed in general – once they get rid of the controls, the checks and balances, and emasculate the agencies like SEC and laws that are supposed to limit corporate irresponsibility and enforce civil rights.
However, Mainland China is highly likely to fill that global power vacuum once the US collapses, and where I live I can still feel its heavy influence in terms of voluminous imports of cheap goods, and it’ll continue to loom larger over my people even long after I go out in this existence.
