This is a really good reference to classical Roman mythology. Something that the US government usually appreciates.
fushuan@lemmy.blahaj.zone 12 hours ago
It’s a reference to Goya a Spanish painter.we don’t really know if this painting was about chronos, that’s a theory.
HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 11 hours ago
they were roommates

Huh, neat. I tend to believe it is anyways with that previous sketch and simply belonging to under the umbrella of Romanticism but there’s some solid points there against it.
DrSoap@lemmy.world 11 hours ago
Who painted this? I want to buy this painting.
huppakee@feddit.nl 7 hours ago
Quite likely their initials are A.I.
Baguette@lemmy.blahaj.zone 12 hours ago
Trump wouldn’t eat the flag, he’d use it to wipe his shit
HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 11 hours ago
why do you think he’s eating it?

Nah, he uses the constitution for that.

Only if it’s a gilded flag.

art is lies that reveal the truth
-some artist
adj16@lemmy.world 12 hours ago
Maybe you’re thinking Alan Moore in V for Vendetta?
Artists use lies to tell the truth, while politicians use them to cover the truth up.
JacksonLamb@lemmy.world 8 hours ago
Definitely didn’t originate with Alan Moore. I’ve seen it attributed to Pablo Picasso but I think the first is probably Aristotle.
DemandtheOxfordComma@lemmy.dbzer0.com 14 hours ago
I’m sure there are quite a few people that would love to see him choke on a flag.
TrickDacy@lemmy.world 13 hours ago
I think a lot of alcohol poisonings will happen on the day he dies.
MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world 11 hours ago
Another, yes.
I’ve turned into a bit of a whiskey maniac since my visit to Ireland last March and enjoyed it more than I thought.
Goodmorningsunshine@lemmy.world 7 hours ago
I’d watch that Seven death a lot.
MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world 11 hours ago
Yes
kurwa@lemmy.world 13 hours ago
Is there an artist or is this AI?
Madison420@lemmy.world 11 hours ago
Ai, it’s a parody of a famous painting “Saturn devouring his son”.
Almacca@aussie.zone 8 hours ago
I’m actually grateful that it is. I’d hate to think a human spent time on this. Imagine the psychological damage.
Kirk@startrek.website 13 hours ago
AI
eestileib@lemmy.blahaj.zone 12 hours ago
The hand is pretty good for AI.
nthavoc@lemmy.today 15 hours ago
Good one. Not that I can do any better, but would it make more sense to put the statue of liberty there to better reflect the original inspiration?
samus12345@sh.itjust.works 12 hours ago
dan1101@lemmy.world 15 hours ago
I would have Trump raping the Statue of Liberty for both the truth and shock value.

Grabbing it by the pussy.
ramenshaman@lemmy.world 17 hours ago
Might print this out for my next protest sign. Who made this?
samus12345@sh.itjust.works 12 hours ago
It’s AI.
GuyFawkes@midwest.social 17 hours ago
Need one of all of the Dems crying “peaceful protests only” as they let him.
state_electrician@discuss.tchncs.de 16 hours ago
This is based on Goya’s famous painting “Saturn Devouring His Son”, if anyone was wondering.

One of my favorites. I wish we knew if that’s really what he intended to depict - people just guessed.
NielsBohron@lemmy.world 15 hours ago
I dunno, I think that’s part of the magic of the Black Paintings. To me, what makes them truly unsettling (in the best way) is the fact that he painted them exclusively for his own desire and that we’re limited to guessing the subject matter (which, although ambiguous, was undoubtedly dark).
