  I never saw the movie, but I can accept mediocre for the book. I thought it was a fun take aliens and alternative history. The writing style is a bit like a morally superior american, but I can read past that (…I guess, because I completely forgot that part).

  Yeah, some people get a new phone every year or so. I know a guy who trades in his “old” phone for a brand new model every few months. He doesn’t really trade though,he just resells. It only costs him like 200 or 300 euro, if you factor in the resell. For him that’s worth it, aparantly.

  People do say “hi I’m from the US” and “hi I’m from canada”. They are both countries and people can tie their identity to it. There certainly are people who say “hi I’m from europe”, but not many. Europe also isn’t a country and doesn’t have the level of autonomy that the US and Canada (or Germany for that matter) have.
