I had a few years where every time I was about to fall asleep I had that very immediate feeling of falling that wakes you up but it was 100 times stronger than I’d ever felt before. It went from “oh, I’m nice and comfortable and just drifting off” to “HOLY FUCK I JUST ALMOST FUCKING DIED” in less than a second, it was absolutely horrifying and took a deep mental toll during and for a good while after it stopped. I still think about it in the context of this post, just the idea of “what if all those times were some sort of universe switching?” (To be clear, not in a serious way, it’s just a fun philosophical thing).

TY!! I didn’t even know the devs were from my country and live in my city until we met. We met at an underground club, me and my best friend (RIP) were talking about the game and this random dude came up to us, extremely drunk, and said he made the game and we didn’t belive him at all right then. It was only a few weeks later when we came across each other at a bar early on in the night when he showed us that he wasn’t bullshiting, haha. This was was all only a few weeks after the first game came out. He’s a great dude!

It was my birthday yesterday and one of the two devs of hotline miami and his brother took me out to the bars, many hours and beers in we talked about how fucked we’d be if we got transported to that universe. Firstly, they’ll repair and/or make any guitar look better. It’s their job so they’ll do it. Secondly and more importantly, it isn’t about if the guitar is damaged or not. It was clearly loved for what it was, it was probably more about the history of it than anything else.

This is the 4th time I’ve seen a post about this the past week with a top comment saying exactly the same (just with different words). It feels like being back on the latter years of reddit. And please don’t misunderstand me, I don’t disagree with you or the other three top comments about this at all, it’s just a new experience here on lemmy that mirrors what I’ve seen on reddit and other places before that which weirdly worries me. It’s this feeling of “this place has gotten too big or too divided to a point where the same thread happens over and over within a very short amount of time”.

This is a very American thing, same with the “fast food (mostly taco bell) that fucks you up” meme. I’m not saying anyone outside the US never experiences this, just that it seems so much more common in the US than anywhere else. I’ve asked friends about this and the fast food gut wrecking and none, independent of where they’re from other than the US, have experienced it enough to where they could relate to these memes.
I’m not surprised based on how shitty the food in the US is, both in terms of quality and ingredients that are illegal in most of the world.

You don’t have to launch from the ground, there are many things that can be done to allow them to reach orbit. It’ll be an enormously bigger undertaking but the physics doesn’t make it impossible. Saw a thread of these from, I think, the same OP that made that mistake. They were clearly not great at English so they continued to use that word in replies and new posts.
