Congratulations, you’re so fucking dumb that I felt my own brain cells dying from just reading your comment. You should just restart life, go back to kindergarten and try to learn every step of the way.

- Comment on Why is Valve being sued for almost $900 million, but Epic Games wasn't sued when they bought Rocket League and Fall Guys to remove them from steam? 7 hours ago:
They could remove that competition by making a better product, but that is somehow always the last thing they’d ever think about. It never stops being so fucking weird with all these business people who go to great lengths to do shitty stuff and always end up making it worse for everyone except a quick buck for themselves, even though they could easily make a lot more for a longer time by simply doing a good job. But no, that would require anything other than immediate greed. Absolutely vile people.

I actually don’t know, it’s been my favorite/lucky number since I was a kid. I’ve really thought about it and tried to remember, I’ve asked my parents etc. but no one knows. It’s a really cool number though, some random things:
The golden angle: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_angle
Age of the universe: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_of_the_universe
The periodic table should end at 137 elements. Here’s a good blog post about it: …wordpress.com/…/where-the-periodic-table-ends/
And here’s just about the number itself: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/137_(number)
There’s a lot more where 137 pops up, but please don’t take this as me thinking it’s some deeper thing and that 137 is the truth of the universe or whatever else conspiracy mumbojumbo. I’m a science nerd and just think it’s fun to have it pop up in so many places of importance, and I know most of those are via our own completely subjective measurement scales (a circle being 360°, measuring the age of the universe in earth years etc.) Some have asked if it has anything to do with 1337, and it has no connection to that.
I gotta head to bed but can post more fun things about it tomorrow. - Comment on HD 137010 b 13 hours ago:
137 is my favorite and lucky number, so I’m gonna decide this is the one that we find life on.

The Oblivion remaster is a lot more than just modern graphics though… There are a ton of completely changed mechanics, new ones and others that are just tweaked. It’s very much not just a graphical refresh.

How is this a TIL? There are hundreds of games released every day, obviously just about any word combination with one word being different will exist.

He isn’t a keeper though, how the fuck do you eat chocolate in a way where it gets all over where you’re eating it? I’ve had chocolate and just about any other food while in bed and black out drunk and never gotten any stains on the bedclothes.

Nah, as a small breast kind of man I get the best of both worlds. And the men I’ve met and talked with about this who think bigger boobs are better have a big overlap with thinking bigger is better when it comes to cars, houses, wallets etc. too. In general fragile masculinity, they use big things to make themselves feel like their view of manly men. Definitely not saying this is only the case, and also not kink shaming, it’s just been a thing that’s been proven many times.

Absolutely loved that movie when I was a kid.
And I just now realised that when I was around 15 a girl invited me to her place while her parents were away. We watched this movie and she put her legs over me, then leaned her head on my shoulder and held my arm and I just sat there fully focused on the movie and feeling awkward about physical contact… God damn it. - Comment on Such a dreamy guy 2 weeks ago:

I’ve almost never felt this, same with other comments here saying people can’t handle self checkout. Here in Sweden, at least in my city, people behave like you’d expect normal functional adults to behave. The only people who can be an annoyance are groups of kids/teenagers, and it’s very much not all of them either.

Story time:
A bit less than a decade ago I had a friend who had a cat, a tiny void who was pretty skittish and not fond of strangers. I grew up with cats and have always had a “green thumb” like for gardening but for cats. When I started hanging at his and his GFs place at least once a week me and the cat became comfortable with each other, but I also saw that they had no idea how to actually care for a cat.
They bought the cheapest food, even though they definitely weren’t strapped for cash, almost never played with her, didn’t know how to read cat body language etc.
I tried teaching them, giving them (well her, the cat) toys but they just ended up collecting dust in a drawer, I told them what cat foods I knew were good and to test different kinds to see which she both likes and were good for her health but they never changed.
When I moved apartment to one a lot closer to where they were living they asked me to pet sit whenever they went abroad and I happily obliged. The first day the first time wasn’t easy for her, she had never been outside their apartment since they got her, but the very next day I was woken up by her climbing onto of my chest and dragging her cheeks all over my face and licking me almost like I was catnip, we were best friends after that and I loved having her with me and seeing this new comfortable and happy side of her. I played with her daily, had nice (as in good for her, not just more expensive) food, treats every now and then etc. Then after 10 days they came back and as soon as I opened the door and she noticed it was them she darted under my bed and pressed herself up against the back wall… It fucking broke my heart, it’s not like I could say “hey, I don’t think you guys are good pet parents, so I’ll take her and give her a better life”. And that first time I wasn’t completely sure if it was specifically them she reacted like that to but after pet sitting her a couple of more times that was definitely the case, if other people came over she wa shy but not even close to what she did whenever they came to get her. I tried talking to them about caring for cats, or just being a fucking human being and understanding animals are “people”, living beings with feelings, but I think they didn’t have it in them to understand that. We stopped being friends over other differences, and then I learned she had gotten sick and passed away. I mourned her more than I think they ever did, I’m of course not gonna say it wasn’t a hard thing for them at all but as far as I’m aware they never grieved and just got another cat right after. I still miss her and think about her every now and then, she deserved better. - Comment on Shout out to the NYE shift at all the Emergency Departments around the world. 4 weeks ago:

I gotta say this isn’t my experience at all. It’s any gender being any kind of welcoming to new people. That includes me in all positions (being the “haven’t known him for long enough” and “we found him along the way”, and also being the one who does both of those things). If anything my experience has been that women have been more welcoming to new people, of course within reason and depending on the situation. But it’s not at all heavily towards one side or the other, people are people and situational logic plays a larger part than anything else.

This is crazy, I just woke up and I remembered I drunkenly installed a game yesterday but couldn’t for the life of me remember what the game was. I opened my lemmy app and see this close to the top and remembered it was dying light: the beast. I finished the second one a couple of months ago and wanted to take a small break before diving into the new one, while also letting some more patches be released.
I’m currently playing Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 too but I’m unsure if it’s for me. I see why it’s so loved but I’m not at all good with tight timing stuff and I feel the exploration is a bit lackluster.
