Don’t forget the unreal tournament remake they were working on at the time too.
- Comment on Duolingo CEO on going AI-first: ‘I did not expect the blowback’ 2 weeks ago:
LLM are actually moderatly useful in my line of work but I still think they are super unethical and terrible, ungodly things.
- Comment on Leaves have evolved at least twice 🤔 2 weeks ago:
Ohh I also misunderstood the question.
The term for what your talking about is “convergent evolution”.
- Comment on Leaves have evolved at least twice 🤔 2 weeks ago:
Also define “evolve” in a way that can be quantized like this.
- Comment on "And my dick fucks your wife more than you do. What's your point?" 2 weeks ago:
Idk man the Godzilla watch in the other comment got hands.
- Comment on Innövative sölutiön 2 weeks ago:
I understand the “lesson” he’s teaching them and also understand that open book tests should be harder.
Point is that he’s tricking them. Or letting them trick themselves. That’s not what a friend or trusted adult would do. That’s what an adversary would do.
He has power over these kids in a big way and should be honest and up front about the reality of the situation.
- Comment on Innövative sölutiön 2 weeks ago:
Sounds kinda adversarial from the teachers perspective.

Please try to ride the bus instead of drive it if your glasses break.
- Comment on Anon considers LASIK 2 weeks ago:
You can buy glasses online from china for super, super cheap. If you have a really rough prescription they might still be kinda expensive but I pay like $15 or something for mine.
- Comment on Anon considers LASIK 2 weeks ago:
Sounds like a clockwork orange lol
- Comment on Anon considers LASIK 2 weeks ago:
Is this why I can see so much better in VR? Smaller field of view? I always assumed it as kind of a side effect of the depth of field hacks they do but FOV would make sense.

He was right.

Why does this look like an ancient android version?
- Comment on [deleted] 3 weeks ago:
You can install a full Linux distro now. At a high level it’s basically like WSL2 for windows.
I had to do professional software development work on one at one point. It was completely cursed but it worked.
- Comment on [deleted] 3 weeks ago:
Idk that Chromebooks count as being super locked down when most of them can run Linux apps.
- Comment on I left negative feedback on ebay for dropshipping and the seller has messaged me four days in a row asking me to change it 3 weeks ago:
This is for sure just an LLM running sentiment analysis on the reviews and sending this prewritten email to anyone who left a review it analyses as being negative.

You are a skilled writer fr. Excellent prose.
- Comment on Github keeps shoving copilot everywhere. 3 weeks ago:
Why was it so hard to tell this is satire?
It was the “several pieces” part that gave it away. Implies a negative which an LLM wouldn’t do in this context. It would be like “a few pieces” even it really was “several”.
- Comment on Github keeps shoving copilot everywhere. 3 weeks ago:
Why are the suggestions all things that should just be links to other pages on the site?
What value is copilot offering here? It’s just a nondeterministic wiki that you can’t bookmark or cite.
I use copilot every day btw. This just doesn’t add value to the interface in any way.
- Comment on The 5 stages of Charles Manson 3 weeks ago:
Hmm that sounds interesting.
I’d say to message me on discord and we can talk about it more but I don’t think Lemmy supports DMS? Or maybe it’s just my app.
Either way I don’t really want to dox myself on this account so idk haha.

It’s hard to tell if you actually are making a coherent counter argument here since your response is 90% ad homenem.
Concepts are high level ideas. Mechanics are lower level implementations of those ideas.
But I think the original poster really meant “vision” or “motif” more than they meant “concept”.
A game with lots of deep mechanics but lacking overall vision is really just seen as a fancy tech demo by most people.
