It’s even the same word in German.
They’re called Schultüte.
Schule = school
Tüte = joint
Stay chill, no matter what

Die heißen Zuckertüten. Verflucht seist du und deine geringfügig unterschiedlichen regionalen Ausdrücke.
This West German freak doesn’t know that they’re called “sugar joints”.
jafra@slrpnk.net 1 month ago
In welcher Region in D werden die Schultüten denn Zuckertüten genannt? Klingt nach einem Marketingerfolg von Südzucker…
LittleBorat3@lemmy.world 1 month ago
Dear Zonengabi, your words are simply wrong and insult our western ears, please stop. Thanks for understanding.
Quantenteilchen@discuss.tchncs.de 1 month ago
Right?
It’s also super important to make sure people get the fact that they aren’t just one but two drugs!
Robbsen1@discuss.tchncs.de 1 month ago
Huh? I am wrong the eastern part of Germany but we still call Thema Schultüte
schmorpel@slrpnk.net 1 month ago
Ersma ne Tüte bauen = chill
Archimedes@sh.itjust.works 1 month ago
I heard they have to smoke the whole thing or they are denied schooling.
jaybone@lemmy.zip 1 month ago
Most of them don’t look too happy about this.
But those German cone joints were always funny to me. They would mix hash with tobacco, and sometimes even use a little filter.
Where I’m from, we just rolled joints like cigarettes, and with actual weed.
prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 month ago
Spliffs (weed+tobacco in a joint) is pretty standard in Europe from what I understand.
However, “cones” like that shape aren’t only used for spliffs, people roll normal joints with them too

Yeah, the Schultüte
JFLennson@feddit.org 1 month ago
Die knallte damals noch.
affenlehrer@feddit.org 1 month ago
Ja, da würde sie auch noch liebevoll als “Knalltüte” bezeichnet
expatriado@lemmy.world 1 month ago
receiving toys and candy in the mix makes “here’s your notebook and pen, get to work” a bit less sad
Miller@lemmy.world 1 month ago
This is of course a joke, it is actually the under ten Fickmühlen icing piping championships.

I got my first Ninja Turtle (Leonardo) from mine. Can’t remember what else was in there.

is it meiner or meinen or am i thinking too hard about tense?
knolord@lemmy.zip 1 month ago
“meine”, because the plural follows the feminine :)
And you are thinking about cases, since it’s a noun.

Must be a nice school. The Schultüte I’ve seen are usually smaller.
RagingRobot@lemmy.world 1 month ago
It’s pretty awesome they get that. In America we make the kids bring everything themselves to school and pay for it all on their own. Not even a mention of toys or candy lol
bridgeburner@lemmy.world 1 month ago
Yeah no those things are not paid by the schools. The parents pay for this.
RagingRobot@lemmy.world 1 month ago
Oh! That makes way more sense then haha.
HrabiaVulpes@europe.pub 1 month ago
To be fair, I never hear about american kids until they get shot, so I dunno what kinda traditions they have.
raman_klogius@ani.social 1 month ago
I wonder how long a full load would last them…

BCsven@lemmy.ca 1 month ago

Little1Lost@gehirneimer.de 1 month ago
not only candies. Often there are also shool supplies and gifts (i got an ugly puppet)
craftrabbit@lemmy.zip 1 month ago
Wow congrats
jaybone@lemmy.zip 1 month ago
How does the puppet feel when you call it that?
unwarlikeExtortion@lemmy.ml 1 month ago
We don’t have that tradition so I get chills at the month of hyperactivity and bad teeth I can imagine. Especially if that cone is 100% candy.
BCsven@lemmy.ca 1 month ago
We just gave our kids candies but the cone was like 8 inch long max.
Waterpumpee@lemmus.org 1 month ago
Thinking back, trading that cone for 12+ years of a joy in life was a bad deal. It’s a trap.
Hey you wanna those candies? Just gotta go into that building and sit still for 8 hours just to sit still at home for some more.
rumschlumpel@feddit.org 1 month ago
And candy isn’t broccoli, either.
flyingSock@feddit.org 1 month ago
greta reference and also very true

WTF, mine only had school supplies. I feel robbed 30 years ago.
stickyprimer@lemmy.world 1 month ago
Wow who’s eating all that? It’s a huge amount.
Zwiebel@feddit.org 1 month ago
That’s like a fifth of what we caught every year during carnival parades
BCsven@lemmy.ca 1 month ago
When my kids went it was a small cone of loose candies. And addition of DoubleSalt Licorice in the old days.
Somebody mentioned there are now toys or other packaged items inside. And a lot of empty space due to she ahrink - flation. Large cone, less stuff.
