- Comment on When people die in wildfires, is it that the fire spread too fast for people to mobilise escape? Or more that people were delayed leaving? 1 day ago:
People often will refuse to acknowledge actual danger until it is too late. Possibly being unfortunate or contrary in exit route selection or having particular requirements like elderly relatives. The route you selected is blocked and alternate exits become closed off in an order that is against you and you are left with having to wait for it to engulf you. Horrifying, if you are with your family it is impossible to imagine how horrifying.
- Comment on How do I figure out where flies are entering my house? 1 day ago:
However meticulous you are about washing recycling still enough organic material might be left for a fly to consider it a viable site to lay eggs. Also washing can sometimes work against you because putting things in the recycling wet can allow a licour to form over time that will smell as bad as anything you have smelled. Wash and disinfect the bins and in the hottest months put them outside. Do you note there is a limited age distribution in the fly populations you see, they are all young adults and all clean and shiny as if they have never been outside.
- Comment on How do I figure out where flies are entering my house? 1 day ago:
For me it is in the hottest months and its in the recycling. The recycling bins are not as contained as the general bins, residual food is in the recycling from improper washing. Lone fly in through an open door and lays eggs in recycling, in normal times process from egg hatching to maggots to flies takes longer than the recycling collection period so it is all thrown out. Under very hot conditions it is accelerated and you wake up to 10 newly hatched flies on your garden door every morning. Solution is when it’s very hot put the recycling out more often even if it attracts foxes. This is very specific to me but something similar may be happening for you, I don’t think flies squeeze through small gaps.
- Comment on What is it like being drunk? How much control do you have? 3 days ago:
You still have complete control you just start to believe that you might actually do the things that are possible. So for example you don’t jump out of a window thinking you can fly but you do tell Wendy her eyes are like a cool breeze on a hot day and whenever you reach out you want her to be there. Then you sleep and forget it all and wake up sober and have flashbacks all day about what you said to your ex teacher that you just happened to bump into last night. You have those flashbacks for the rest of your life.

The bee does not concern itself with convincing the fly that honey is better than shit.
- Comment on I said meow! 1 week ago:
The reason for this is that on holidays and weekends when people allow themselves to sleep past their usual waking times they enter a lighter sleep called the Nessun Dormant phase characterised by unconscious singing like Pavarotti, which can unsettle pets.

To re-phrase for the cheap seats people are willing to pay for familiarity and ease of use within a contained and overwatched environment. This demographic will make the transition to AI guardianship with barely a blip on the resistance scale. I am not being derogatory, it is probably the smart move.

They dont like them in any meaningful way, they are shiny, they are used to them and everyone they know has one. That is the size of it.

Each column is arranged in numerical order, the columns might represent some arbitrary division that makes sense only in terms of the function of the building. The first column might be all the floors which deal with marketing, the second accounting and so on. When you arrange things objects alphabetically camshafts would be next to cameras which without knowledge of the alphabet would make no sense (ACA).

It is interesting she curls her finger up, if you are pointing for a third person to follow your gaze you hold your finger straight. She is pointing for herself and that finger is like a gun sight.

You are blaming the wrong people, you are blaming your parents for living in a fairer world. The owners of production taking more and more profit out of the system and exerting disproportionate political influence is why the common working person today cannot afford to live.
