When somebody says they like Proton:

Proton is very aladeen

The CEO of proton is currently on a mission to destroy the company, so won’t be too many for long.

Aw bummer, do you have any quick details? I’m out of the loop

I heard he tweeted in favour of one of the policy’s the GOP implemented. What else has he done?

FurryMemesAccount@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 days ago
What policy is it?
I’m saddened by the amount of partisanism in the US these days. It’s not because an idea is republican that it’s bad, it’s because these days, 99% of them are terrible and that most of them don’t give a single flying fuck about science…

Election: Shitty Web apps Proton: shitty Mail, VPN, Cloud storage Proton: Gaymes gooo brrrr (actually good) Proton: Go brrrrr (I’m gonna make a program called neutron lol, as soon as I stop procrastinating )

neutrons and electrons reportedly very upset as well.

Well, one group was only neutral but the other was negative.

I’d be upset as well: www.electronjs.org

For those who are too young to know, this dude tried running for NY Governor. He had the best debates I have ever seen. www.youtube.com/watch?v=79KzZ0YqLvo

His name is Jimmy McMillan and he’s the leader of the Rent is Too Damn High party. Interestingly enough, Mr. McMillan has not paid rent for 45 years. That said, he’s maintained that it was how high his disabled children’s rent is as why he’s chosen to make himself a political platform. For a vet with disabled children he’s pretty active.

At least none of them sucks quite like electron (the thing that bundles chrome to make “native” javascript applications)
joel_feila@lemmy.world 2 days ago
Yeah why do we need electron
hornywarthogfart@sh.itjust.works 2 days ago
Honest answer? It makes it easy to release an application cross platform.
Personal / hot-take answer? Because we are human and our drive for mediocrity is astounding…especially when it can save a few bucks. Why make something good when you can make something less good faster and cheaper? That should be Electron’s slogan.

Not protons, but it’s crazy to me that photons are everything that we see AND radio waves.
lefixxx@lemmy.world 2 days ago

why does he look like he should arrive in a small steampunk dirigible
HighFructoseLowStand@lemm.ee 2 days ago
I had an idea for a story about Steampunk Radical Reconstruction in 1880s and some of the characters I imagined looked like him, but with a top hat.
FourWaveforms@lemm.ee 2 days ago
The top hat is really all this needs

I came for a meme about email or maybe video games i can’t tell anymore.
perishthethought@lemm.ee 2 days ago

i_love_FFT@jlai.lu 3 days ago
There are trillions of trillions of them inside of me!
unemployedclaquer@sopuli.xyz 3 days ago
So they’re either particles or waves right?
ameancow@lemmy.world 3 days ago
They’re made of little things connected to each other that each have three potential properties that go in two different “directions” and if you try to pry the little things apart, more little things pop into existence so you can never isolate them. And yes, every subatomic particle has wave and particle-like properties but it’s not correct to say they’re either one or the other, or that they’re both. They’re not even locally real and don’t really exist in one place.
This message has been brought to you by Reality™, it’s fucking weird.

As a side note … I personally hate “Proton” therapy. It serves a lot of children specifically. That, is truly awful!
stoicmaverick@lemmy.world 3 days ago
You mean the cancer therapy?.. Why?
MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world 2 days ago
I hate when the kids get cancer.
ameancow@lemmy.world 3 days ago
What manner of insanity is this about now
MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world 2 days ago
It’s a cancer treatment. It totally sucks when kids have cancer.
