So… She will be the mother (in-law) of her own father?

This song is the only thing I remember from an absolutely terrible movie called “the Stupids” that came out back in the 90s.

From what I’ve seen, the internet has a firm stance on what to do with step moms.

Especially if they get stuck under the living room table

Dad groomed an almost Child and the almost Child is to blame?
tias@discuss.tchncs.de 4 days ago
My interpretation was that the intent is to punish the dad.

Unfortunately they probably have Double Standards.

Not primarily, but if my parent cheated on another parent with someone around my age: we scrapping regardless of who’s more to blame.
HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 3 days ago
so dad’s dead so it’s not really an issue anymore, and as far as any of us know both he and mom were faithful to each other. but if my parents wanted to cheat that’s none of my business. if they chose to cheat with someone my age, that’s everybody’s business.

Wild to assume that they where groomed without any mention of it on the post.
MrKoyun@lemmy.world 3 days ago
Almost child? The age gap with someone who’s presumably in their 50’s is weird as hell but a 20 year old isnt a child.
derAbsender@piefed.social 3 days ago
The brain develops until a Person is about 25.
18 is the age the government decided on arbitrarily.
I for one differentiate adults and kids based on their cognitive abilities, not on an arbitrary number the Epstein class wants to lower to an even more disgustingly Low number.
So i think almost Child is adequate.

A friend of mine married. At the wedding, her father (a widower) met the grooms mother (a widow). Some time later, they married each other. Some time later again, my friend and her husband divorced.
Can you imagine this kind of awkward family meetings?
HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 3 days ago
Okay, do you mind if i one up the awkward? I had some friends in high school start dating. Their parents were single. They met. About two, three years into the kids dating, the parents start dating. As soon as they graduated high school, the kids got married. A year later so did the parents.
Both couples are still together but like, “yeah i’m married to my sister. she wasn’t my sister when we got married tho. damn mom and dad” is one hell of a story.
Pacattack57@lemmy.world 3 days ago
If you think about it, it makes sense. 2 similarly raised kids should theoretically have parents with a lot in common.

That’s why I just avoid family gatherings. Too many exes

OP gets to buy their mom alcohol for a year.
Corkyskog@sh.itjust.works 3 days ago
Dads definitely already doing that. Might be able to get a side racket going buying cannabis if dad isn’t cool with that though…

Is shit like this that fuels all that step mom content?

Why are the last numbers slumping in the upvotes and comments?
abigscaryhobo@lemmy.world 3 days ago
They probably took a screenshot when the page was dynamically updating the numbers. They do that to show that the post is actively getting votes/comments. Whether it’s legit new updates or not I have no idea, but that’s what you’re seeing, the text is mid-animation

Im 54 male and the idea of dating someone my son’s age is akin to pedophilia to me.
HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 3 days ago
Same. I’m in my 40s. I have no kids, but i have friends and siblings with adult children. Nieces and nephews (the word niblings is fantastic) The idea of dating someone in their 20s is utterly repulsive. I’m just glad I’m taken. Dating has changed so much in the last two decades… those social media fuck systems frighten me.
Pacattack57@lemmy.world 3 days ago
I’m 33 and the idea of dating a 20 year old is so insane. Like I have almost NOTHING in common with that age group.

And law says it’s not, as long as she’s 18
Drusas@fedia.io 3 days ago
The comment is clearly not talking about the law.
