Been enjoying old games and a large backlog for quite a while. No intention to buy the latest and greatest anymore.
But I’m old.
- Comment on Physical disc production ending in January 2028 for new games releasing on PlayStation consoles 1 week ago:
If I’m downloading digital games I’m downloading them from indie studios onto my computer, and not through a console.

Normal movement for me: I’m not really cognizant of them.
It really matters what the climate is, though. Colder weather/neutral weather: not as uncomfy, because they tend to shrink up closer to your body. Warmer weather, especially if you’re getting sweaty in high humidity: yeah, they could stick to your leg or something. Gotta make sure not to sit on them. Man-spreading can help here when sitting down, or taking a wide step off center/stretching in a lunge (lol).
One time, in the pharmacy, I got this pain in them as I was walking around. Turns out that my right testicle had twisted around in it’s sack (testicular torsion). I had to spin it in the other direction once I got to a private place to relieve the pressure. Was almost doubling over in pain because it felt like a little vice was starting to crush them more every time I took a step. No fun.
TMI? Sorry.

Was looking for this comment. I have a few pairs of these and they’re kinda neat! Problem is that I got them when I was in shape, and putting them on now is a bit of a stretch (around my waist). (No pun intended.)
Not sure how much a new pair costs now, in the US, but I would recommend if you want a little ball holster lol
- Comment on Generational warfare 1 week ago:
Now that you mention it, if my parent cheated with someone their age, I could probably see myself doing something morally grey in response, too.
I have an ex whose dad cheated on her mom while her mom was pregnant. Can’t imagine the emotional rollercoaster from that.

Not primarily, but if my parent cheated on another parent with someone around my age: we scrapping regardless of who’s more to blame.

You dont know this but some Americans are profoundly stupid.
Isn’t this the case basically everywhere? Is there a culture or country that doesn’t have profoundly stupid people in it?
- Comment on 1 week ago:
I think the key is he’s in a local position
Sanders is a Senator. Are we defining Senators as local, now?
Senate isn’t exactly a position where you can pick an heir apparent
It’s a tough pill to swallow that our favorite guy should have stepped down at least a cycle ago due to his age. If a dude from his party is elected next, it’ll be really unfortunate.
Yes it would be great if there was a 40ish year old bright and scrappy contender for senate in vermont that bernies endorsement would make a shoe in… but to my knowledge there isn’t.
This is the problem. Why isn’t there?
- Comment on 1 week ago:
I mean what would you call AOC, and Mandami,
Young.
(Sorry. Had to.)
An 84 year old shouldn’t be in that position no matter how they outwardly appear. He’s doing a fine job but he could be doing a better job helping to build more "1 in 100"s to make a change.
- Comment on 1 week ago:
Why is he still in his seat when he’s well past retirement age? Why doesn’t he have a successor? He’s 84.
RBG was 87 when she died, and she held onto that position long enough to have a Republican appoint her replacement.
I like Bernie but I’m concerned why he hasn’t passed the touch.

Bernie Sanders is well loved, but also extremely old, and doesn’t seem to have passed the torch to the next generation of like minded politicians.
- Comment on time to eat 1 week ago:
It’s yet another type of intermittent fasting. I bet it’s good for some people, but honestly: if you have access to affordable nutritionists: ask one and see if it would be good for your body type.

Is it just me or is it harder to find good cotton underwear anymore?
- Comment on Destroyed by logic 1 week ago:
I did this after I had my first kid. Just gave up and bought 10 black tshirts to rotate.
Nothing helped but at least I didn’t have to care much about what shirt I was going to pick out.
- Comment on time to eat 1 week ago:
The thing a lot of people miss with intermittent fasting (imo) is making sure the meals they do eat are giving them the right amount of nutrients/proteins/etc that their body needs.
- Comment on time to eat 1 week ago:
If you don’t get the proper amount of calories for your body (especially if you’re still growing) you’ll be in a lot of trouble.
Even as a fully grown adult, not eating enough and physically exerting yourself could mess with your bone density among other things. Happens to thru hikers on the Appalachian trail when they don’t eat enough.
- Comment on time to eat 1 week ago:
It might surprise you (pleasantly or horrifically lol) to learn that there’s a large group of people specifically doing one meal a day (referred to as OMAD) as a form of hardcore intermediate fasting.
That being said, they make sure they get the proper amount of calories/macros in for this (they’re not just eating a slice of bread and butter), so I understand that you’re not referring to this style of eating.
Still wanted to bring it up though. Wild stuff.

Honestly wouldn’t mind being with someone that is more dominant. The second part, I’d be willing to try out, but I don’t think I’d like it very much. Safe words needed lol.
- Comment on Supermarkets destroy food if it doesn't sell. We can always feed the world. We just don't. 2 weeks ago:
I thought eggs were pretty healthy as a protein source. I’m not sure about milk but I assumed it was helpful for the same reasons.
With eggs, if unfertilized eggs aren’t eaten, they’ll go to waste anyway. Why not eat them while we try to downsize animal-based factory farming?
- Comment on Supermarkets destroy food if it doesn't sell. We can always feed the world. We just don't. 2 weeks ago:
Yes (with some exceptions like eggs, milk, and other animal products like wool).
It makes sense environmentally. I would change my mind on this if there was some need to eat meat that couldn’t be replaced by a vegetarian diet. I don’t see the point in eating them, though.
It’s not going to change until it becomes more lucrative/economical to do so, though, of course.
- Comment on Supermarkets destroy food if it doesn't sell. We can always feed the world. We just don't. 2 weeks ago:
Alternatives need to be cheap and easy.
I agree. We’ve created quite the fast paced and frantic society. A cheap an easy alternative could shift our consumption if we scale it properly. I’d argue it should be a primary focus of anyone passionately against factory farming. We can worry about moral messages as an aside: busy, poor, and hungry families will respond better to successfully launched vegetarian and vegan fast food options at existing establishments. We’re not culturally there yet.

This isn’t relevant to farmed animals.
I agree. If we could replace that system with something healthier for the planet, and our species, we would stand to benefit.
- Comment on Supermarkets destroy food if it doesn't sell. We can always feed the world. We just don't. 2 weeks ago:
Based on our growth as a species/taking over ecosystems, if certain animal populations in the wild aren’t culled (have a certain number of their population killed), it will be bad for the local ecosystem.
There are arguments that allowing animals to do this, instead of humans, will not always guarantee the impact we want, either.
(Fun wolves in Yellowstone video in case you like video essays and want to go off on this tangent: youtu.be/Y9sQdMrEX2g )
Personally: I don’t hunt and I rarely buy meat, but I still eat it from time to time and am upset when it goes to waste. I don’t like the idea of a factory farm, but “here we are.”
Final thought: the best way to decrease meat consumption is to make the alternatives easy to prepare and alluring to more of the population.
