I don’t think this is “car brained”. They’re not saying anything around public transit, just that we need to have a test for DWI and weed. People shouldn’t be jailed for 30 years regardless of the presence of the test or not, but we do still need some other test. Otherwise I guarantee that “don’t drive while baked” will be the next infomercial you see in a few years.

There are also a fair number of scientists that believe there may be a higher power or an afterlife that still devoutly hold to scientific study. You can be a person of science and a person of faith. As long as you don’t deny science along the way then there’s no problem with that. Now if you don’t believe in evolution or something then yes your credentials are weakened significantly, but believing that there is a higher power beyond earth doesn’t mean your test results are invalid.

Not only that but both of them, Kirk and WBC, were experienced. Not at being good debators but at shutting down people who tried to prove them wrong. Even if they were wrong. They had months if not years built around defending a flawed view and shutting down naysayers. They regularly practiced all their tactics so most of the people they debated (regular students who had an opinion) weren’t ready for their tactics. You don’t have to outsmart your opponent or be correct, you just have to trip them up and make them publicly look foolish. These guys travel the country ragebaiting and begging people to call them out daily, they know how to dodge and redirect and speak over.
Once you stoop to their level, they beat you with experience. It doesn’t make them right.
Also I’m pretty sure half of WBCs old tactic was saying stuff that would get them punched and then suing.

I mean… technically you are correct? The gravitational pull of the apple does act on the earth, but it’s so incredibly small and the earth is so incredibly massive it’s borderline non-existent.
But yes all gravitationally interacting object do act upon each other

Anyone who rips on waffle house hasn’t been tired, hungry, possibly hungover, and had $10 in their pocket. Eat like a king, bottomless coffee, and no frills food. I’ll take waffle house over Denny’s any day.

There’s a lot of people in here talking about fitness, fasting, etc. but it really just comes down to calories in, calories out.
You have to acknowledge what you’re eating and what it does to your body. Calling out yourself, and the foods you eat.
All you need is:
- How many calories in a serving
- How big is a serving
- How many calories can I have today
- Self control
- Water

The correct response is to find out who is responsible for the chaining/closing and start chaining/closing their stuff. Randomly messing with another park doesn’t hurt anyone and just means another park is closed.

Specifically not paying contractors. He would regularly hire contractors for jobs at Trump buildings/companies where it was x% up front and x% on completion. Then when they came for the completion percent he would just not pay and make them take him to court. Sometimes he paid, but other times they just couldn’t afford to litigate as long as he could so they’d get stiffed.

They’re making the big bucks. Theyve regularly tried to get the show cancelled with that joke of “South Park Sucks Now” they even got the hashtag #cancelsouthpark trending on purpose. If they really wanted to walk away, they could. But they just keep coming back with more and more ridiculous demands for pay and they keep getting it.
- Comment on What is the best way to drop 50lbs in two months without spending alot and no fad diets? 2 months ago:
50lbs is an unhealthy goal. Both for your mentality and for your body. Health recommendations put about 2lbs a week as the upper limit on weight loss without health issues. Even people who are on weight loss programs and injections are told to stick to this amount as best they can.
As someone who lost 50lbs last year I get the urge to just “get it done” trust me. But it won’t help long term. Pick a routine, watch your calories, and stick with it. Success comes from progress, not quick fixes.
And if you want my secret tip, you’re gonna be hungry, but when you do eat, shrink your serving sizes, and wait. If you’re eating don’t make a whole meal (ex. Two pb&js, chips, and fruit) make a serving (one sandwich, or just the fruit, or a measured serving of chips, don’t just eat out of the bag), eat that and some water, and give it time. You won’t be “full” but the hunger will go away and you can keep going.

Honestly it’s really concerning the number of hyper sexualized ads I’ve seen. There are still plenty of other ads, but the fact that those “I’m an AI with no filter” or ads that are just straight up animated porn with the camera pointed slightly off screen is concerning.
Sex sells, whatever, but there’s some of these ads that I can almost guarantee are being shown to children that should normally be in a sex shop behind a curtain, but here they are being shoved into a childs phone.

At least he put up for americas interests instead of lining his own pockets and creating division. And also, who cares? I don’t care if a president fucks like there’s no tomorrow as long as he’s a good president.
This whole “Yeah but JFK” argument sounds an awful lot like “whataboutism” here. JFK is long gone, and even so, people still lauded him as a good president, people dislike Trump more day by day, and he’s a swindling self serving asshole. A couple photos aren’t going to change that opinion for either of them.
- Comment on Internet discourse is wonderful 7 months ago:
Not devaluing this perspective, but I think this could also be applied to a lot of different experiences. Anyone who has tried to change themselves in one way or another can relate to this. Obviously transitioning is one, but it’s a very human reaction to feel that way.
It can be as minor as “I want to be an artist but I don’t want to share because people will critique” or as intense as transitioning.
People may not have gone through the exact scenario, but its a very human experience to say “I want to but I’m not “good enough” yet, so I’m going to hide it”

My only exception to the “pre-discount” price is when places have a “buy 1 get 1” deal and they try to make you tip based on that, but the single item price is way overpriced because of it. Happens around me a lot where they’re like 3pack tacos, buy 1 get 1 $21, like yeah that’s great price for 6 small tacos, but I wouldn’t be paying $21 for 3 tacos, so I’m not gonna tip whatever crazy amount for a bill that “would have been” $75 or something for some tacos and a drink. Granted these are usually carry out orders, but don’t try to artificially inflate my bill to get better tips because you discounted it to a lower price.
- Comment on what video game deserves to be in a museum? 8 months ago:
I think the better question is what about games deserves to be in a general history museum? The advent and changes of technology and the implementation is far more important than the examples of it in use. There are very few games on their own that would qualify as “culturally impactful” to the greater world by their sheer existence. (Mario, Pokemon, and Tetris immediately come to mind).
If we are talking about a “video game museum/exhibit” then the list broadens a lot, but it’s less about the “what” and more the “why” that needs focused.
- Comment on what video game deserves to be in a museum? 8 months ago:
Most of these I get, but idk about hollow knight unless it’s a part of the “Metroid/Castlevania” exhibit. It’s a good game but idk if it’s quite “museum” status.
- Comment on Itch.io is delisting NSFW games due to pressure from payment processors 8 months ago:
Oh for sure, the sites are getting in trouble. But that’s because advertisers don’t want to be associated with those things.
But the payment processors, that’s literally how they make money. Can’t make money off the top if there are no transactions. Banks will still let you deposit your money if you get it from a drug deal, bit of a don’t ask don’t tell there, but it’s the government that has problems with how you got it. (hyperbole but you get my point)
I still think separating from credit card co.'s is a good idea regardless. But its pretty rare for them to turn down transactions unless they have to.
- Comment on Itch.io is delisting NSFW games due to pressure from payment processors 8 months ago:
Problem is the same as it has always been though.
Sex sells.
It’s gonna be a hard push for a lot of these companies to stop accepting transactions for NSFW stuff unless they can prove it’s harmful or they get legal repercussions because it’s a big part of business. In an economy where “year over year growth” is such a big deal, neutering transactions that account for (guessing generously) 7% of your revenue is a hard pill to swallow without serious force.
