I don’t mean banter or just shooting the shit. but discussions or talking with friends about things in your life, or theirs… ya know, showing an interest in someone’s life because they matter to you or them having an interest in your life because you matter to them?
Maybe 30 years ago when the arcade was destroyed by a tornado.
Me and my friends frequently discuss how we feel about our lives, jobs, our futures and what our plans are. The last time was yesterday.

Yesterday. As a matter of fact quite often, I’ve found wonderful people to have deep conversations about our projects for our lives, about politics, science… you name it. And of all places, in VR Chat. It’s the new third place, a forum to gather without the economical pressure of consuming.
Being freeware helps, I like to join bar maps and just talk to randos sometimes but right now it’s all about the Fish! map. It’s basically VR Webfishing.

Last Wednesday. We regularly go out to a local pub for trivia night and converse face to face there.

I gave up on that a long time ago because as it turned out the answer to the modified question was never.

I don’t see small talk or whatever as a sign of a lack of interest in someone. Sometimes there’s nothing that deep going on to talk about.
Basically never, like probably 3 times ever in my life. About 10 years ago I guess.
Almost Everyday and I have a super small circle.
Uh, I wouldn’t call anyone my friend if I can’t or don’t talk to them about that stuff.
In the summer when we see each other more at least weekly.
In the winter it is a lot more hibernating and activities of daily living so less frequently.
If you count spouses, this morning, if not then sometime around 2000.

Its uhhh… its been a few years
Yesterday but my closest friend lives in my house lol. I’d be fucked without him around. The friend group I had basically imploded in my mid 30’s.
A few weeks ago. We talked about vegetarianism, how one of my friends is coping doing loooong shifts as a new doctor, being chronically ill, why the oats you buy in the store aren’t any good, the education system, how our parents aren’t doing so good, how we can help them, etc. And there were also shenanigans. So many shenanigans.

Couple of hours ago. A friend I haven’t seen for a few days phoned to see how I was and we talked for about 45mins. In person, on Sunday, two friends in separate visits.
