I am just shy of 60 how old are you?
Do I get that times are different? Do you get that you keep changing your argument?
- Comment on Was Pedro Pascal objectively "in everything"? 1 day ago:
HEHE yeah he was not in everything. Once he had his big break in GOT he was churning out three to four products a year.
- Comment on [deleted] 1 day ago:
That comment is about people deciding to trust social media.
I will “bite” on your ramblings.
Do you really believe that the press of 1940s Germany and Japan was not 99.9% lies and 1000 different way of lying?
Let’s roll it back even before 1940s. Don’t you think it is strange that it is called Spanish Flu, even though the first case was in Kansas, USA?
- Comment on [deleted] 1 day ago:
All of that is correct and completely unrelated to the topic at hand.
- Comment on [deleted] 1 day ago:
His point was “it is up to the audience whether or not they trust the press.”
And that is 100% the case when it comes to social media.
Social Media is much more like to be full of information that is not true that to be completely devoid of information of is true.
That is a totally different topic and completely wrong.
- Comment on How are there people who don't know Alaska and Hawaii are states? 1 day ago:
Everyone, everywhere is terrible at geography.
- Comment on How are there people who don't know Alaska and Hawaii are states? 1 day ago:
Because that information has no application in their day to day lives.
- Comment on [deleted] 1 day ago:
And that is different from Social Media of today in what way?
I trust the AP a hell of a lot more than anything I see on Youtube or Facebook. Fuck, when it comes down to it I trust Fox News more than any social media outlet, mostly because I know Fox News is propaganda.
- Comment on Does the USA have gifted schools or was Spider-Man Homecoming lying? 1 day ago:
Yes the US does.
There are public schools that kids have to apply for and there are a number of private schools that kids have to apply for.
Magnet schools are not fake nor are they only for the rich. A buddy of mine who is an electrician, his daughter applied and is starter her freshmen year at one this year.
- Comment on [deleted] 1 day ago:
The press would do that.
Think about when the world woke up to the concentration camps. It wasn’t until the war was over.
- Comment on Is it just the norm now-a-days for grocery stores to have lots of stuff on the shelves that's past the best-by date? 2 days ago:
Not at any of the grocery stores I go to.
- Comment on How com the ad industry make so much money? 6 days ago:
I am sure!! The superbowl is the basically the starting gun for add trends. The superbowl ads set the tone for marketing campaigns or years.
- Comment on Two years into the world's most complicated board game, masochist gamers "still don't understand what the camels do" 6 days ago:
Infamous for its “pasta rule” which requires Italian troops to use more water supplies so they can cook spaghetti,
HAHAHA
Ok that alone makes me I wish I knew 9 other gamers who could dedicate the time.
- Comment on Would hammering websites on black Friday actually cost companies money? 6 days ago:
The concept you are talking about is a called a Denial of Service (DOS) attack. Typcially that is down with malware, there is another type that uses bots that is called a Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) attack. In a DOS attack the malware overwhelms the capabilities of a website, email server, ftp server etc to the point where it fails.
If the number of people browsing the site do not overwhelm the site it won’t cost the company shit. Any CDN/web hosting company worth a damn will have the capacity to handle the black Friday weekend surge.
- Comment on [deleted] 6 days ago:
Yes we still do the census.

No
- Comment on [drugs] what does LSD feel like? 1 week ago:
It is nothing like that.
- Comment on How com the ad industry make so much money? 1 week ago:
any brand that works with them by extension is hated and reviled by that.
That just isn’t true.
The advertising industry makes billions because ads make companies trillions. The advertising industry elects politicians and shapes public narratives and also rehabilitates public images.
I know this may shock you but people love ads. The Superbowl ads are almost as popular as the game. Some of the most successful comics troops working today are the troops that do insurance ads.
Hell there are company spokesmen who are international celebrities, The Most Interesting Man in the world, Lilly from AT&T.

Oh look a piece of shit is being a piece of shit.
- Comment on Is it safe to connect a Windows XP machine to my wi-fi network? 1 week ago:
If all you are going to do is play old stand alone games why are you attaching it to a network?
Just sneakernet the install.
I would not attach an XP machine to a network.
- Comment on Is ICE still doing the so-called "immigrant" hardass stance and in the states we don't hear about because "bigger" stories? Kind of like the Nazi's did against Germans about the Jews? 1 week ago:
I am not sure if your comment is serious or not, but if you are in the National Guard, that would be a damn good deployment to get.
Unlike Operation Lone Star where you are sitting out in the Texas desert going insane and being fucked out of benefits, a DC tour is just waddling around Georgetown, The National Mall while staying in apartments and hotels and as it is a federal deployment you get the pay and retirement benefits.
I am sure you would have some downtime to see the sights, Trump and MAGA America are fucking up the Smithsonian, but there are other great sights to see.

It is just horrible.

Oh hell yes they are.
The National Guard is still walking around DC, doing noting.

- Comment on Why do so many people regardless of whether their reasonings are justified or not pinpoint South Park for ruining a generation of millenials? 1 week ago:
Because South Park put a mirror to their own bullshit. And they are those that say that about South Park.
- Comment on Capcom isn't worried about PlayStation and Nintendo shrinking the physical games market: "90% of our unit sales are digital" 1 week ago:
But they are saving at least 5 times that by not fucking with physical discs….
- Comment on "Digital Signatures" just ask you to type your name into a box now. Am I right in thinking this almost-completely defeats the purpose of a signature? 1 week ago:
Absolutely!
- Comment on "Digital Signatures" just ask you to type your name into a box now. Am I right in thinking this almost-completely defeats the purpose of a signature? 1 week ago:
Remember back in the day when you used to have to sign the back of your credit card.
I would write in that block “ASK TO SEE ID”. At least 100 cashiers would read that and then just stare at me.
- Comment on "Digital Signatures" just ask you to type your name into a box now. Am I right in thinking this almost-completely defeats the purpose of a signature? 1 week ago:
The truth is, wet signatures have been absolutely worthless for … well forever. The first time I had a credit card was in the late 80s and even back then it didn’t make any sense that I was signing receipts in the grocery store.
- Comment on [deleted] 2 weeks ago:
No, Until 2025 I never gave either place any thought, and then all of a sudden dRump was talking invading.
