- Comment on Do people really "need" friends? 3 days ago:
Yeah, for sure. But a lot of people don’t draw that level of distinction for any of this. Or are even aware of it.
Because the social shame around these things, is so intense.
- Comment on Do people really "need" friends? 3 days ago:
Yes, but that depends.
If your left arm had cancer, or gangrene, removing it was what you needed to be healthy.
friends/family can be like that. The problem is people assume they are always good. they are not always.
and just like removing your left arm, if you do it, they are not coming back.
- Comment on Do you stay on vpn 24/7 or turn it on whenever you need it? 3 days ago:
I don’t use a vpn at all, because I don’t need it.
- Comment on Why does it feel like most art museums are for adults and most science museums are for kids? 1 week ago:
I know you don’t agree, because you have no real world experience.
The funny thing about the real world, is it tends to laugh in the face of our expectations about how it ‘should work’.
Try teaching sometime and see how well you do with your ‘just repeat at the children and they will learn’ philosophy…
- Comment on Why does it feel like most art museums are for adults and most science museums are for kids? 1 week ago:
that’s not how kids work. nor do most people.
- Comment on Why does it feel like most art museums are for adults and most science museums are for kids? 1 week ago:
Teaching an 8 year old that science research sits at the top of a pyramid and newspapers and TV sitd at the bottom, would be easy to grasp.
you have never been around children, have you?
- Comment on Why does it feel like most art museums are for adults and most science museums are for kids? 1 week ago:
kids aren’t taught that at a young age because they can’t grasp it at a young age.
and frankly, most adults can’t either. it’s too abstract for them.
- Comment on Why does it feel like most art museums are for adults and most science museums are for kids? 1 week ago:
because in the science museum they have a lot of touch/interactive exhibits. museums, don’t.

- Comment on PlayStation Plus price increase announced for new customers 1 week ago:
Inflation affects everyone. a $1 price increase is more in line with inflation of the past few years.
- Comment on Is it just me or is Lemmy less active than reddit? 1 week ago:
I do, that doesn’t mean they keep making new ones that are ever more specific, or new ones are popping up on new instances.
I’m not scared, I’m annoyed. Just like I hate people who ride Harleys. They are obnoxious and it sucks to be subjected to their bullshit for just existing in the same space as them.
I dont have an issue with people who ride normal motorcycles… almost as if they don’t have anything to prove and are just enjoying their hobby without being obnoxious weird jerks…
It’s also hilarious to me they get so upset that you might find them obnoxious because they really do think they are super wonderful amazing people. I made a complain last week about obnoxious Linux people, and people replied with multi-paragraphs to argue with me how not obnoxious they are and that if I don’t think Linux is special than I’m a pathetic werido who worships windows.
They are that socially clueless and sadly stupid enough to really see the world in ‘me vs everyone else’ terms. When you point out their poor weird behaviors, they just lean into them and get defensive. ‘leave me alone!’ no dude, it’s you that’s not leaving me alone, because you can’t keep your shit to your own communities.
- Comment on Is it just me or is Lemmy less active than reddit? 1 week ago:
everytime i do that here i’m just shocked at all the filth that shows up. very little quality content here.
however if i was a furry who jerked myself off about linux and had a victimhood-superiority complex about my autism, i’d be in heaven. it’s scary to me how prolific that segment of the userbase is here.
- Comment on Is it just me or is Lemmy less active than reddit? 1 week ago:
yeah, this place as liek 1/10000th the userbase. the problem with this site is there are few people who are active and they are active about the same boring issues over and over, that got them kicked off reddit. it’s annoying seeing the same 6 accounts spamming communities here.
not that reddit is really worthwhile anymore, the content is very manicured now, but it is still at least diverse. and yeah, part of that is the ridiculous auto-banning over ‘bad’ words regardless of where or how they appear on the site. in 2026, reddit will bad you for saying ‘purge my garden of weeds’ as ‘inciting violence and hate’, which i guess, yeah it kinda is… because apparently weeds are a persecuted identity or something?
anyway, you’ll get banned her too if you offend whatever mod or site admin. don’t worry. generally though you can’t be banned from the fediverse. all my bans so far on fedi have been from news communities where I was challenging a dominant overly simplistic narrative and the single mod thought that was ‘hate speech’.
- Comment on Is this how girls behave when they like you? 2 weeks ago:
no, relationships have rules and patterns that are easy to figure out.
your own gut feelings are often unreliable, esp if you are not socially savvy.
that’s why people go to therapy, to learn to stop reacting with gut feelings and recognize what is actually going on, so they can respond to reality of other’s behavior rather than their emotional reaction to it. because lots of people have poor emotional reactions.
- Comment on Is this how girls behave when they like you? 2 weeks ago:
ask her out and you’ll get your answer.
lots of people flirt with zero actual interest. at least half the women who flirt with me don’t have any legit interest, they just think it’s fun and they are bored. easiest way is to ask them out and they say no.
every woman in my office who was flirting with me was looking to cheat on her bf… so yeah that sucked. they only told me that after we went out though.
- Comment on What do you think being famous is actually like? 2 weeks ago:
people think they know you, people think they own you. and people think you are the characters you play on the screen.
it’s fucked.
- Comment on I can only be assertive when I'm on edge, is this normal? 2 weeks ago:
what the fuck does any of this mean?
i wonder if i am so out of touch, or people today are really really this insane/self absorbed.
are you also angry at yourself when you eat because your hungry? or that you use the bathroom when you have to poo?
or should you being more passively-pooping? why not get a colonoscopy bag surgically installed that way you can be passively pooping forever?
- Comment on [FNAF] If AI Chatbots are stupid today in real life (with the AI-Bubble bursting), how have the FNAF animatronics actually been smart since the 1980s? 2 weeks ago:

why would it not get tons of upvotes here?
- Comment on Might explain some of my dating missteps 2 weeks ago:
No it isn’t. It means they aren’t attracted to me and don’t respect me. When they are attracted to you and respect they are on their best behavior.
- Comment on Is it weird that I cringe whenever someone calls my name and I avoid using peoples names when talking to them? 2 weeks ago:
No. I feel the same way. I don’t use people’s names in general unless I have to like yell at them.
- Comment on Might explain some of my dating missteps 2 weeks ago:
This is like 75% of women I meet on first dates. Basically get the basic facts and then they trauma dump.
I don’t like it. It’s so weird.
- Comment on How is Alexander the Great so great he gets that name, but not so great that just “Alexander”doesn’t disambiguate him? 5 weeks ago:
His family name became a title for future Emperors.
- Comment on How is Alexander the Great so great he gets that name, but not so great that just “Alexander”doesn’t disambiguate him? 5 weeks ago:
He’s trolling, yeah. I understood that.
He’s called that because that’s what he’s called.
Why is your username Blue Morpho? because that’s what you chose.
- Comment on How is Alexander the Great so great he gets that name, but not so great that just “Alexander”doesn’t disambiguate him? 5 weeks ago:
No, it’s because he conquered the known world.

it was shit outside of military production, because basically it all went to military production.
- Comment on Why is the US so into Israel? 5 weeks ago:
jewish culture values education and creativity, that’s why. asian population also has higher incomes, but they don’t value creativity so they don’t really make it in media.
- Comment on Why is the US so into Israel? 5 weeks ago:
they don’t care about it. anymore than your grandma cares about the latest video games coming out.
and if you talk about it to them they will acknowledge it politely and change the topic because they are not interested in your weird obsession
- Comment on Why is the US so into Israel? 5 weeks ago:
evangelicals and jews in the USA are far more political active though than the majority of the citizenry.
- Comment on Why is the US so into Israel? 5 weeks ago:
I mean, that’s the same rational the Russia has. buffer states, surrounded by hostiles, etc.
