- Comment on Why are the SMS limits orders of magnitude smaller than data limits bandwidth-wise? 2 hours ago:
because SMS isn’t data.
SMS is a 2G standard. Those networks were very limited in capacity compared to today, so SMS basically grew up with limited capacity and it’s a legacy hold over, and/or some carriers for a long time were still carrying SMS/phone over the older standard towers.
2G and 3G towers were only very recently retired, like 2022-2024, at least in the USA. In other parts of the world they are still active.

- Comment on What do you think of the posting of easily searched questions here? 6 hours ago:
i assume they are dumb. or they didn’t get the answer they wanted easily, so they want people to tell them what they want to hear. and they are also dumb.
and when you look at their replies, if they reply, it’s almost usually always the latter, and they will argue and get hostile to anyone who tells them what they don’t want to hear.
basically, it’s for folks who are seeking bias-confirmation. and they get REALLY REALLY angry if you don’t confirm their biases.

dead animal in your walls or similar.
they will go away eventually. once the food source does.
- Comment on What is it like being drunk? How much control do you have? 2 days ago:
and he knows it. the issue with a lot of drunk people who do stupid shit is they don’t know they are impaired or drunk. often, in fact, they vastly overestimate themselves and their abilities due to the alcohol impairment.
- Comment on Do you buy PC games from third party key sites or from Steam? 2 days ago:
Steam or real world retailers
- Comment on What is it like being drunk? How much control do you have? 2 days ago:
I mean I am like that when I’m drunk, but that’s also who I am in general. When I was super drunk in college I would self-regulate and stop drinking and like go somewhere safe to sober up. I also never hooked up with people drunk and stuff like that.
But many folks aren’t like that, you’re right. They are not monitoring their sobriety and thinking about how impaired they are… they are just in the moment feeling what they feel and reacting accordingly.
- Comment on What is it like being drunk? How much control do you have? 2 days ago:
what you do is who you are. whether you regret it or not.
- Comment on What is it like being drunk? How much control do you have? 2 days ago:
get drunk.
it’s different for everyone. some people lose total control, others don’t.
generally drunk people are not falling down or slurring words… for most people who aren’t alcoholics being that drunk is dangerous and is a sign of alcohol poisoning.

No. I just think they are stupid assholes who didn’t get punched in the face by their peers or slapped by their parents to correct shitty behavior. They probably had it encouraged.

dude, you are setting yourself up to be abused by a miserable and manipulative women.
stop helping people who won’t ever help you back.
- Comment on 4 days ago:
I have a better solution for you, just tell these people ’no’ when they start making their requests for help or paying for stuff. If they like you, they will respect that, if they don’t and flip out, they don’t like you.
Lots of people are more than happy to date someone they don’t like to get stuff from them. The folks you dated never liked you, they just saw you as a resource to use until someone they do like comes along. Hence why when you tried you date them for real, they bailed.
Just be grateful they bailed and didn’t keep seeing you and cheating on you while doing so. They at least respected you enough to not fuck you over like that!

according to who? you?
the vast majority of people disagree with you, and their votes count just as much as yours. they prefer the echo chamber.
- Comment on Is anyone else apprehensive to down voting even if you're being down voted? 4 days ago:
why the hell do you care about any of this?
maybe the better strategy is to not care about what internet strangers think about you?
- Comment on 4 days ago:
Other people aren’t you. They don’t think or feel like you do, and they don’t value the things you value. It’s that simple. You think sex is about trust, other folks don’t. I’ve met a ladies who get offended if you don’t try to fuck them within an hour or two of meeting them. And ones who claim they only want casual, but then they basically want to be your girlfriend, etc.
People lie a lot. Especially to themselves. For a lot of folks, dating is not about love and trust and all that. It’s much more shallow and it’s just about immediate gratification and pleasure. And they don’t care. You can’t reason them out of something that is purely emotional.
- Comment on 4 days ago:
the element that is missed here is that people judge you via their interpretation of your behavior.
two different folks can see the same action in completely different ways.
- Comment on 4 days ago:
some folks openly embrace it and see absolutely nothing wrong with it in themselves, because they are special.
- Comment on 4 days ago:
dating isn’t being being in a relationship. you date until you find someone you want to be in a relationship with.
they are two separate states.

My favorite one of these is when people lie to me and tell me it’s because of systematic oppression FORCED them to lie to me…. lol
- Comment on What's the difference between socialism and communism? Is there one? Or are the terms interchangeable? 1 week ago:
communism is an utopia idea far more than an actionable form of government.
socialism is very actionable, it’s more of a policy than a form of government. you can have a socialist monarchy or dictatorship.
- Comment on What's the difference between socialism and communism? Is there one? Or are the terms interchangeable? 1 week ago:
Idiots think they are the same thing.
They are about the same as monarchy and democracy. As in they are different systems of government with different arrangements and goals
and there is tons of varbility in each and across them. you can have elements of htem that overlap.
when people claim they are directly opposed to capitalism/democracy, they are also just stupidly wrong.
the problem is that ‘communism’ in the real world, has never existed, and socialism is quite limited in most countires.
what most countries that are communist/socialist actually were/are, is autocratic or oligarch states, with planned economies.
most capitalist democracies have tons of socialism, it’s just a matter of degree and kind. USA doesn’t have a sovereign wealth fund, but it sure as shit is socialist AF when it comes to defense spending.

yep, unis at my school all have international rich kid dorms that are high end luxury and they park their lambos outside. they don’t associate with the regular students, they live a totally isolated world. they also have lots of special academic ‘help’ to make sure they keep writing those 100K per year checks to the uni and don’t fail out.
when i caught international kids cheating when I was teaching i was basically told to sweep in under the rug because their tuition paid my salary. the rules don’t apply to them because $$$$.
- Comment on [deleted] 1 week ago:
don’t come to school here unless you’re parents are rich and they are paying 150% of your costs.
that is what the vast majority of the international student population is here. even at the graduate level.

- Comment on Why are there so many more mtf trans vs ftm trans people?? 1 week ago:
There doesn’t seem to be a sense of ‘pride’ or for FtM the same way there is MtF.
Anecdotal… but MtF in my personal experience kind of ‘demand’ to be recognized as such, FtM don’t care about being acknowledged as men. They kind of just don’t care, their gender expression isn’t as performantive or public… which is kinda of how most average men are. They don’t really care that much about their presentation. So a successful FtM transition is likely going to carry those ‘male’ traits of not caring about attention/recognition as much.
- Comment on Why are there so many more mtf trans vs ftm trans people?? 1 week ago:
it’s only outdated amongst college-educated liberal people, and even then it’s not really.
successsful women in stem still want dominant male providers, and very few want househusbands.
