I made a post about thia exact thing a couple of weeks ago! I will give my money to people not using ai bullshit, and if theyre liars, they wont see a cent from me again. People need to stand up and have some damn principles about this.

My problem is the only thing local people here use is Facebook, and im not comfortable posting things on there that the drumpf regime is going to consider terrorism.
People arent tech literate enough to communicate via other means…

There’s zero profit in this. The overhead of storage and broken equipment would be insanely high and impossible to manage. Not to mention old gear is a lot heavier, more expensive to ship.
No to mention people interested in cool old gear are as rare as unicorns these days. Young people couldn’t care less for the most part. Most of them wouldn’t know what soldering even is, theyre not gonna try to repair old gear when their phone can do everything.
Nope those days are gone. Now you either suck it up and pay thousands for quality or hope you get lucky at a garage sale! Or there are still cool antique stores here and there that are carrying good old gear that they test out and sell relatively cheap.

True. I dont care about any of that, just sound and analog inputs, so id never buy used unless it was actually a high quality or boutique build. Or better yet a kit!

Oh its true. It was always designed to get the money from the kids!

I see! OK looking at that unit, it doesn’t appear to have a separate ground. Although it does seem to be a low build quality which could be causing your issue. If you wanted you could try running it on DC power since that would be filtered, it could fix your issue.
Are the in wall speakers on a different amplifier?

These games are so disgusting. Sad that kids get so addicted to them.
At least in my day they only took a few quarters from ya

So i could write an entire book here about this topic as ive spent most of my life around audio.
But the simple part is, even if its a 2 prong, you may still have a chassis ground on the metal casing you need to hook to an outlet plate screw or other ground.
The other issue could just be your house wiring. Some houses are not wired correctly and may not have proper grounding so you are picking up noise there.
The other issue is, cheapo pots (like volume controls) sometimes make noise when they are all the way off due to imperfect contacts being used in their build.
Speaker wire is always unshielded.
If you have a bunch of wires running parallel to 120v you’ll get noise. If you have lot of cables coiled up you’ll create an antenna and possibly pick up a radio station.

To be honest, anything you get on Amazon is going to be shit compared to almost any stereo unit from pre 1990.
I dont understand why people need new. For audio gear, old is almost always better (if its not outright broken).
All my gear is 70s-90s and sounds and works great, and im not getting bezos closer to his trillion.
Sorry for the rant friend, good luck!

I dont see the future getting better in any way (under late stage capitalism) but ill be fine in my bubble. I feel sad for young kids though. Hopefully they dont grow up too depressed and cynical.

I just cant imagine that at 40 all my favorite video games/systems are going to be 40-50 years old as well and new games will be made by Barron and the Saudis xD

Yeah most of it is just human symptoms. I definitely have it more compared to my friends though who cant keep up in conversations with me because I go so fast and switch topics in a millisecond. Its fun when I meet someone who can also do this.

They were more unique and creative. Were they functional? Ehhh not always. But i still love it and with modern implementation id like to see more of it. It doesnt have to be dated. It can just be a creative difference. Not every single site has to use js and look like the 3 websites 99% of normies use.
Take baccyflap.com. I love this site and see no issues at all with it. Most people under 30 would run away screaming from this site (hyperbole) because they are conditioned by x, fb, and the tok.

- Comment on How much money should one person realistically make or have? 2 weeks ago:
Thats good! I wish I could be more minimalist but im not. Im a maximalist for sure lol.
Most things about living in town just require spending money all the time (not that im not spending it other places but still)
Like fancy eateries or bars etc, just drains money away so fast and you dont actually “get” anything out of it. (Except experience, which my memory is so bad ill forget it anyway)
Good point on the high salary area however one could argue there’s actually more opportunity here where I could buy land to rent out, or buy a house to flip etc. Big money makers. But I am too lazy to want to do that right now haha. And while trips are fun and i like to do them sometimes, having my own big garage is more fun and more useful to me. Plus I love driving (more sport type driving events, but I go for cruises on open roads a lot too). I feel like a trapped animal in cities, not for me.
- Comment on How much money should one person realistically make or have? 3 weeks ago:
I agree.
People are SO against doing that though, almost vehemently so. 1000 people will go to scamazon to buy some junk before 1 person goes 2 blocks to get it from a local store. People are so lazy they dont want to get up to put in a dvd (yes im old, but this is something I heard a friend actually say not long ago)
Not to mention everything made local costs 4x more by default.
There’s really not much sense of community anymore in America.
- Comment on How much money should one person realistically make or have? 3 weeks ago:
I agree.
But its still dangerous to give government that power. however, if you can actually elect the politicians, its fine. But we all know its rigged bullshit and votes dont actually matter anymore, if they ever did.
- Comment on How much money should one person realistically make or have? 3 weeks ago:
In America midwest, 100k is plenty to own a couple acres and a few cars and buy most things you want and travel.
On the coasts, about $250k yr to live like this, maybe 350k.
- Comment on How much money should one person realistically make or have? 3 weeks ago:
While I agree, then you are giving the government massive power to decide how much you shouldn’t make.
And what happens with all the “tax” money? Straight into politician pockets.
- Comment on How much money should one person realistically make or have? 3 weeks ago:
I totally agree. And id like to ask, what sort of system benefits this?
Regulation is what government does and kills small business while large corps either pay em off to get by or they submit to regulation and lose a few billion but doesn’t affect em.
Socialism is viewed here as government ownership of everything, no more individualism, and Americans fear government above all else (ironically blindly trusting corporations with all their money and data).
