- Comment on Been a long time since I smoked but if I opened the door to my fireplace and tossed in a kilo of pot and just let the smoke fill up the house will everyone in my house get high? 3 days ago:
Yes, but wouldn’t a fog machine full of cannabis extract be a much more pleasant way to hot box your house?
- Comment on How often do you change your towels? 4 days ago:
idk, after 4 or so uses. I have super dry skin so my towels never get stinky. I’m washing them long before I notice anything. Humidity being very low where I live also plays a part I"m sure.
Some of my towels may be older than me. I got a pile of hand-me-downs from my mother when I moved out and uh….I still use a few of them until they are dilapidated enough to become garage oil rags and then I buy a replacement. Nothing in my bathrooms matches!
Face towels are a different story. I replace them after a single real usage. Probably just as old though.
- Comment on Do you preorder games? 4 days ago:
If there are reviews out and I’ve looked at some raw gameplay from a streamer getting early access or something then I might pre-order mere hours away from release if there’s some benefit in doing so.
Otherwise absolutely not in the digital only age. Can’t run out of copies.
I don’t consider Early Access a pre-order. If I buy an unfinished game it’s because there’s enough content from my point of view at that asking price that even if the game never gets finished I’ll still be satisfied with my time/money spent.
I can’t play a pre-order.
- Comment on Why isn’t "Democrats would never get away with this" seen as a problem for the left?” 1 week ago:
Well they barely do that either when in power, I think that’s why I see people talking about the “ratchet effect” so much this year.

Yeah. I’m still pissed off dev hours get wasted on this shit instead of, idk, HDR support? Persistent pinned tabs?

Sweet, I can remove the community work-around.
- Comment on should I go back to my old job now that several people, some of them more knowledgeable than me have told me they don't understand my decision to quit it? 3 weeks ago:
Can just ignore them until the novelty wears off and people stop caring.
- Comment on Do you cheat in video games? 4 weeks ago:
If I find a game too tedious and I’m about to drop it then sometimes I cheat whatever currency the game uses by editing RAM values which is braindead easy. Single player only. If it makes me want to keep playing. I have less patience for poor pacing as I get older.
Except Wreckfest if it counts. I had zero interest in the shitty single player campaign. I just wanted to race online but the game locks most cars behind a crappy uninspired single player grind. I gave myself enough money to just buy everything and then soley focused on online play.

Bungie had a whole semi official mod for Halo 1 on PC called Custom Edition. Chaos Gultch, anyone? Completely insane fun online.
- Comment on Palworld dev isn’t impressed by "so-called" AAA, prefers indies since they "include the kind of systems you can’t find in other games" 4 weeks ago:
We need novelty yep. When you’ve been around long enough, you start having to look around harder to find it.
- Comment on How long after starting Vitamin D supplements should you notice results? 4 weeks ago:
I don’t notice feeling any difference tbh.
- Comment on What can Trump get away with and what can he not? Hell one president shot an enemy to him. Can he do that? 4 weeks ago:
This is disgusting myself to even write out, so I’m spoilering it but I’m not joking:
spoiler
At this point I seriously think Fox News could have a live feed of Trump raping a child on the White House front lawn with everyone mic’d up so you hear everything, and nothing would change.

The developer of Barony is insane like the Stardew Valley guy, and just. never. stops. updating. I’ll play the game forever at this point.

I know people have posted user stats now and then. More like stagnant at the moment. Slow growth would be ideal. I’m not interested in gaining mass appeal tbh.

Extra annoyance points if escape immediately skips the cutscene without any indication it’s going to.
Rage inducing absolutely.
- Comment on Gaming Pet Peeves 5 weeks ago:
Live service games that start getting long in the tooth adding too much content.
There’s plenty to hate on with Dead by Daylight, but I was at one point pretty good at it both killer and survivor. Eventually I started to feel there were too many perks and characters to keep track of and I lost interest.
I felt the same about Team Fortress 2 when they started adding new weapons. That’s probably not a popular opinion but the initial updates tying weapon unlocks to achievements really soured me on the game, permanently. I stopped playing.
- Comment on Gaming Pet Peeves 5 weeks ago:
I’ve noticed more and more indie devs at least have begun to set master volume lower by default. I appreciate that.

- Comment on Why civilians don't crowdfund bribe money for politicians? 5 weeks ago:
There were bribe stats I read at some point. It’s often four figures. Pathetic, but yeah we could match that.
The problem is rich people will just start bribing them even more. It’s like bidding at an auction.
