Back when I was in school we used to have a day where we would go outside and pick up trash, and I knew someone who’d litter with the reasoning of “it doesn’t matter, because I’ll be picking it back up on that day anyway”. Which to me never made much sense as a reasoning, because you’re still gonna be walking to school surrounded by all the trash the rest of the year?
Anywho, it’s not related to anything you said, but it just reminded me of it

Story time!
TW for mental health and SH I guess :3
So, this was a few years ago now, but I got conscripted for military service, and at that point you’re supposed to go to recruitment stuff, and medical evaluations and all that. At the medical check up they did a bunch of tests, eyes, feet, spine, heart, and so on, and then eventually it got to the psychological bit. First was a go to the psychologist there, and it was all the standard stuff of fill out a questionnaire, then go in and talk to the psychologist about it, whatever. At the time I was pretty depressed, had a lot of anxiety, and also self harmed, which of course I answered without lying. They ask to see my SH scars, which I showed, and then they wrote some stuff down and sent me across the hall to talk to a psychiatrist, they again ask about the stuff I filled out, and eventually ask to see the scars, which I show, and they basically say “you don’t need to any more tests today, go to such and such mental hospital, say it’s for this military thing blah blah blah” and so on. (I cut myself on my legs, so to this day that remains the only time a mental health professional has asked me to take off my pants) Anywho I register to go there in a few days, and it’s much of the same process, talk to the psychologist, they ask about my life and parents and relationships (was kinda like a therapy session lol), talk to a psychiatrist, talk to the psychologist again… Eventually I get taken to another building, they tell me to wait while they fill some stuff out, then I got taken into the office to answer some questions in front of a bunch of doctors about myself and how I feel about the military service thing, and at the end they hand me a large sealed envelope to deliver to the military recruitment centre, which I do, and then im officially dismissed from the military :3… and I got paid like 20 bucks or something like that for the day I was technically in the military lol

Not an american, but my country has a mandatory lottery style conscription system :3… I did end up with my name in it once, but I never got past the medical evaluation :3 failed the psychological tests lol. It did end up with me getting a military mandated mental hospital visit™ tho, which is a fun story to tell

Oh I can definitely recommend a 2nd screen when you get a bigger desk lol, even if you don’t go as overboard with the multitasking :3 personally it’s been a game changer
Maybe it is overkill, but if overkill is the best solution, and you can afford it, I would go for it.
And yeah, definitely :3. It’s probably not an upgrade im making in the near future, cause I feel like there’s more important hardware I could invest in, but if I do find myself with money to spare, and no real pressing matters it’s definitely something that would be cool to pick up
- Comment on I want that setup. 4 weeks ago:
Good question :3 so 2 of the displays I have are 25" (or 24.5") monitors, those are for my general multitasking, I found one screen to be really lacking for certain tasks, like screen recording for example, as I’d basically have to run everything windowed or across different workspaces, and then switch between like 3-4 apps just to monitor everything that I want, not even counting other apps I want open lol, which gets cluttered. So usually I use my main screen for whatever task im focusing on + workspaces, and the 2nd for chat apps, media (spotify/youtube for podcasts usually), and some other varying apps like a browser/settings/OBS
The 3rd screen is a tv! It’s angled away from my desk and towards my bed, and it’s basically just for media I want to consume while not sitting in an office chair, like movies, or whatever lol
And the 4th one I considered would be for video calls as I said in a different reply in the thread :3. I was looking at prompters (which are basically just screens reflected on transparent glass with a camera behind it) just cause for me it can be kinda awkward switching between looking at the screen and the camera, and I don’t want to look like im just constantly looking off to the side to the other person lol :3. This is very much an overkill solution though :3
- Comment on I want that setup. 4 weeks ago:
Tbh the entire reason I want the 4th one is for video calls, which is very overkill :3

Meanwhile im considering a 4th display for my PC lol
Maybe money was the right choice in the end

Lithuanian! Im not sure if they were loaned from estonian :3 we used to have 10 (nominative, genitive, dative, accusative, instrumental, locative, illative, allative, adessive, and vocative) allative is basically dead outside of a few words like velniop, adessive is just dead (only really seen in old writings) but illative is the interesting one: it’s not used in standard lithuanian outside of some set phrases (kairėn, dešinėn, and in our anthem vardan), but it’s still used in dzūkija and east aukštaitija, so… Yeah that’s some lore :3

As I understand it, just cause you feel better it doesn’t mean the bacteria is fully gone. If you stop taking them before that point the surviving bacteria (which were more resistant) will start multiplying again and you’ll need more/stronger antibiotics at that point

This is mostly for AAA games not so much indies… and not neccessarily just dying light
One thing about older games that tends to be better imo is the world design, even with the worse tech a lot of the time they feel more tightly designed around the mechanics, being more densely populated with content, instead of just being massive open worlds even when that doesn’t serve the gameplay loop, or having the far cry 5 “tackle zones in whatever order” thing, which just leads to them all feeling inconsequential and kinda samey, cause you don’t get zones designed for specific skills you pick up later etc. and in general newer games feel more homogenized imo, like every game is an open world first person shooter, with light RPG elements (unless it’s an online arena hero shooter), and what would’ve been the central mechanic boils down to a small part of it. so dying light for me feels like a parkour game while more of the modern games that feature those mechanics feel like games that happen to have parkour in them
Also in general older games feel less intrusive, newer games just have pop-ups and collectables and UI for every little thing all the time, it feels like it just wants you to buy a battlepass and DLC and whatever else
But where they are a lot worse is accesability. I mean dying light’s controller settings are weird, like you have 4 presets you can change, but you can’t bind the buttons individually, and some games I played don’t have options to rebind at all even if they detect the controller. I always end up just using steam input anyway tbh, but if not for that replaying those games would be a lot more painful, also I often find a lot of settings like FOV or whatever else lacking (dying light is fine in that regard :3), and there’s also things in a lot of older games where they don’t neccesarily remind you what quest you’re on, or teach you certain mechanics etc. So sometimes when I take a break from one for a while I end up needing to just run around or look up what im actually meant to be doing lol :3 maybe that’s just me
Though overall I do enjoy a lot of the older games more than modern ones in the AAA scene lol. I do still play a lot of modern indies as well :3

Im replaying the original dying light :3. Honestly the way old games are better in so many ways, and worse in others is something I find interesting
