Playing through the Witcher 3. Currently doing Hearts of Stone at the moment. Its excellent. Also some War Thunder and Overwatch 2
I’ve had an itch to play Palworld recently, so definitely that! Helldivers is also my “Jump in for a match or two then log off” style game that I generally play as well.
Looking to finish Ball x Pit. It’s been a lot of fun.
Hades II & Hades
Got back into Stardew Valley, this time with ~300 mods and a bunch of expansions and no visible end to the timesink yet.
I’m playing Necesse and loving it so far!!!
Trying to finish up Hellblade Senua’s Sacrifice so I can start the second one. I developed a cold over the week, so this is a great opportunity for this lol. Just lay in bed and game between naps.
Luigi’s Mansion on original GameCube hardware. Well, it’s pretty modified - BT controller board, memcard pro, EON MKII for digital video output, picoboot to load from sd, but the game processing HW is original lol.
Also, Rise of the Tomb Raider was easily the best one of those. I loved that game.
Still on Silksong, second run. So far still finding new stuff and alternative path. Dancers is still the best boss design so far.
That was a fun game. I really enjoyed that one.
Good ol’ modded Terraria with a side of Helldivers 2.
What mods do you use in Terraria?
I prefer to use mods that make the game far more difficult, like Fargo’s Masochist mode or the Infernum mode mod. Sometimes I’ll just use vanilla’s Legendary mode if a mod has support for that. I’ll usually pick one of those three and then I’ll sprinkle in a larger compatible mod like The Stars Above along with a ton of QoL mods. I rarely mix more than one or two large mods, as they don’t really tend to play well together generally.
Currently though, I’m playing through an ultra-modded modpack I found recently called “Infernal Eclipse of Ragnarok”, which is very different from what I normally do. It’s a mod made to allow Calamity (plus add-ons like Wrath of the Gods and Catalyst), Thorium, Secrets of the Shadows, & Consolaria to all work work together with Infernum mode. It rebalances bosses and items, adds in new content, and just about anything else you would need to play the mods together without Calamity greatly overshadowing the others in difficulty. Several of these mods add their own version of the thrower class, so they’re all merged into one unified class. And Thorium’s bard & healer classes have new content added for most-thorium content so they can stay relevant too.
Technically I’m playing an add-on to the modpack called “Homeward Ragnarok”, which additionally adds support for Fargo’s Souls and Homeward Journey, but I wouldn’t recommend it over the base modpack. Homeward Journey isn’t really balanced well yet and doesn’t have any Infernum mode boss AI, so they all end up being very easy to kill compared to the rest of the bosses. And the sheer amount of content has made the game lag a ton, where my frames drop to below 40 any time I fight a boss anywhere but space (which I have to do a lot of the time).
Still, it’s been a lot of fun so far. I beat my first superboss, Astrageldon, yesterday after getting my butt handed to me like 30 times in a row. It’s a very well designed boss, and learning its patterns were a lot of fun. I’ve also been making a bit of a trophy platform, where I’m collecting all the relics and trophies and such for each boss.
Ghost of Yotei
It’s so good. I think it might be the most visually stunning game I’ve ever played.
The first one was good, but it didn’t hold my attention long enough. I can’t stop playing this one.
I got a message Necesse got it’s 1.0 release. I played it about a year ago and it was rough around the edges. So I’m giving it another go this weekend.
I gave it a run on the ROG ally yesterday. The right trigger is your main button to chop, combat, etc. The only way it worked was to spam the button which was not great. I did some research and seems that with some settings this can be fixed. None the less the game does look cool. Indies are where it’s at!
Those adventure games are fun. Scratches an itch every once and while.
Attempting wrath of the righteous again. Always dip out at act 2 start. Got bubble buffs working on Linux. Need something all consuming. Hoping it’s the right time.
That one is so much more fun once your buffs last all day.
Putting my final touches into my STALKER: Anomaly modlist and creating the last couple of compatibility patches. I think I’ll end up at 400 mods which is a nice round number. Hope I’ll get to start my playthrough this weekend.
Will also try to get through another chapter of Alan Wake 2, I was on a replay of it when I got derailed but I do want to finish it and finally start the DLCs.
Working through some more Pokémon Legends Z-A, with a sprinkling of Cyberpunk 2077 here and there.
God of War 2018 after playing gow for my whole childhood, it’s interesting
Supposed to do the end game content for Expedition 33 but I’ll probably just be doing rounds of Megabonk.
Got into Expedition 33 this week. Just got to the point where the huge stuffed puppet learned to swim. Gotta say, I don’t get the hype.
I think they tried to souls-likify a JRPG. But it just feels like combat is one QTE challenge after the other. No other mechanic really matters, at least on normal mode. Also it feels like the main story, which seems fresh and intriguing, barely gets glanced over, while interpersonal relationships get a korean drama level exposition.
I’ll tag along for a little while longer because the voice acting is stellar. The rest is meh IMHO
I almost checked out around then too, it gets a lot better in the respects you criticised as well as environment design.
I’d recommend hard mode for combat once your characters feel ready to advance. It isn’t that much harder, and at least the last chunk of the game is way too easy without it.
Only the spookiest games
I started Pacific Drive today. Does that count?
Man, I wanted to like that game so bad… I just don’t think it’s for me
Maybe Tormentes Souls II or RE4 Remake.
I started a new run of Baldur’s Gate II to see if I can actually be good at it this time.
Of more recent releases, I’ve also been going through Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector and The Alters, both being very good resource management games in space.
Promise Mascot Agency
Playing some Curiosity, going to finish it this weekend hopefully
