I haven’t used Amazon in such a long time but I figured they would have made it better with LLMs and stuff.

You know how much Blippi, Wiggles, Brain rot Minecraft/Roblox, Ryan’s World I had to go through before we finally watched some Bluey?
Oh my goodness, Bluey is actually good too, it’s wild.

An airline pilot? That’s crazy isn’t it? Don’t they do calculations based on the curvature of the Earth and stuff?

I got into it with the director of my UK office at work because he didn’t believe in global warming.
I thought all of them knew it was happening now and have pivoted to it not being man-made or what’s the point in doing anything.

I’m an 80s kid but I skipped the old Twilight episodes … so I’m trying to darnest to catch up on them and I’m learning how awesome the ideas were even if the presentation is dated.
Just a random segue …
I sound naive but I didn’t realize that Rod Sterling wanted to tell stories about social issues – racism and stuff but the networks wouldn’t let him. If he wanted to tell a story about an alien or an invader then the networks would let it pass through. So it was a way for him to tell harder stories to the general public.
I think that’s a lot of sci-fi like Invasion of the Body Snatcher and such but I just never thought about it deeply enough.
There’s the treehouse of horror episode by the Simpsons where Bart is omnipotent and I knew it was based on something but I only recently learned it from: “It’s a Good Life” which is a book and a Twilight Zone episode. I only watched the parody up until this year and I just thought it was a fun concept. Then I watched the original and a breakdown and it was a take on totalitarian regimes.

Not saying you’re wrong, but like, there’s a lot of other categories of porn that I wonder why they exist and professional porn probably doesn’t crack the top 25.

I’ve seen a few of his more recent clips. He’s still playing games on livestream and giving out advice. Obviously with a much smaller audience.
I’ve never really followed him that closely to begin with. I would like to think he’s a good guy that has dumb opinions on certain topics. However, I also don’t care enough to dig into it deeper.
I curate my feed too. I also watch only one short or have to select it myself. I refuse to scroll shorts one after the other.

I think I’m miscommunicating it. You know how sometimes you feel as though you understand a topic until you have to explain it? :D
www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5lqJF5BTvo (40minutes)
This video talks about it.
He talks about a Discord server where they pay people to do it. Not like editors or employees which are perfectly fine and make sense, but to hire other people to do it:
If you clip their stuff they’ll you via their campaigns through that Discord server. It’s to game the algorithm to make people think that other people are really interested in this to push them up the charts.
He brings up a good point in the video where he talks about how this should be considered advertising as opposed to natural content and labelled as such but laws around this are not clear.

Yup. It came out that Clavicular has been funded by Peter Thiel. I was watching a guy do a marketing breakdown of a “clip farms”. Where top streamers pay people to clip their videos and upload them to flood the algorithm. PirateSoftware, Asmongold … like a lot of streamers use this service to surface to the top.
I think he did a breakdown of Clavicular and he was like, someone has poured a lot of money into getting this guy noticed.

I think anybody who’s bilingual or attempting to learn another language or done some duolingo classes can relate to a degree.
Reading/writing, speaking, and listening can feel like different skills.

Not gonna lie, you’re right … I’ve been stopping. I only recently bought my house and it was my brother’s old house and he was watering it a lot, but at least he’s been doing it at night. The weeds on my lawn are greener than the grass itself which is what changed my mind …

I was thinking of throwing some money out to people that could help me change my lawn to native plants. I’m sick of Kentucky bluegrass and the amount of water I waste on it.

I noticed that my attention span is obliterated.
Only certain types of books can grab me now and it’s lower on my list. I don’t doom scroll tiktok but I just watch a lot of random YT content.
It’s sad because at the end of the year I used to be able to say I’ve read X. Now it’s just following up on random garbage.
I definitely should be reading more and taking the time to read more!

I’m sure there’s other FAANG or MANGA people here but I have friends that joined Google during the blitz hiring around COVID. When they started talking about letting people go he said other Googlers said it would happen at other companies but not at Google. He said, that may be true but the numbers don’t work. Anyways, Google joined the other companies in letting devs go and morale dropped hard.

I’m not like actively there but an example, for me, is that I just watched the Hateful Eight and thought it’d be nice to see what others said about it and the main links were Reddit and they hard pushed me to the app. All the other links had ads that actively blocked me from reading the article.

Went to the UK and the director was shitting on vegans. I said, “you can hate them but at least they’re good for climate change” (I ignored mentioning I was a vegan in the past). Holy fuck, non stop verbal diarrhea. He said that global warming isn’t true because scientists have agendas. Global warming is when seasons change (I think he was being funny or facetious about that). He also said eating meat had some carbon in their bones and that’s good for the earth or some shit.
I wasn’t able to get a word in. I did eventually say that his definition of climate change would be agreed by no one. Then he came at me again and eventually ended it with “well, you started it”.
I said, “yes and let’s end it and move on”
He did not and then said more random shit.

I’ve just read Easy Money and then Number Go Up … it’s like built into the community that you should DYOR (do your own research) and getting scammed is like a college hazing ritual. “I guess I should have studied more” it’s weird how people feel as though consumer rights and protections are no longer applicable with this …

The load that people like Hasan has to deal with is insanely high. I doubt there’s an “off” switch either. I’m a wage slave and I wouldn’t want to trade positions with him. Media’s been targetting him quite bad lately too.
