- Comment on New ‘Spider-Noir’ Set Photos Show First Look at Nicolas Cage’s Live-Action Suit 9 hours ago:
I know he’s a huge comicbook nerd (he owner an Action Comics #1 for a while), but it’s really cool that he reprises the role in live action. Now hopefully this will land on the good side of his ouvre.
But with the track record of live action Sony Spiderman movies, I remain sceptical.
- Comment on Are PVOD Rental Prices Going Up? ‘Alien: Romulus,’ ‘The Wild Robot,’ ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’: All $24.99 6 days ago:
PVOD is such a stupid rip-off. It’s basically just making sure the good quality pirated version gets out before the movie is available for a reasonable renting price.

I think it being a normal book on the outside is actually scarier. The knowledge in the book was dangerous, not the object itself.
I would never open the Book of the Dead from Evil Dead but I might open the Necronomicon if I find it at an antique bookstore or something.

Well, normal is a stretch. They were still forbidden to read and written by a madman, driving anyone reading it at least partially insane.
Lovecraft was basing it on The King in Yellow by Robert Chambers. The character itseld also appears in the Lovecraft pantheon as Hastur.

I would say do every actual sidequest but don’t bother clearing the map of all question marks. Hunting for Witcher school gear is also just mostly cosmeticand optional, but they’re the coolest armors and swords.
Also, if you’re not playing on the lowest difficulty, read the infos in your journal regarding the creatures and prepare accordingly.

I don’t doubt that it looks amazing on a good PC, but it’s also one of the best looking games on the PS5 and runs very well.

Yep, they also made me want to rewatch X-Files and Twin Peaks, two obvious inspirations (plus Stephen King particularly The Dark Tower, another kind of house that is the linchpin of universes).
I can also recommend The Lost Room mystery series from 2006. It’s use of magical, but mundane objects and a timeless hotel room also seems to have been a direct inspiration.

I mever played Alan Wake through until recently when I got the second one.
Then I played through the first one, followed by Control including the DLCs and then Alan Wake 2. I can’t recommend this enough, it’s an incredible ride.

Ants “see” mostly by smells. This would probably smell like another ant and thus wouldn’t be bothered.

It’s relentlessly bleak and cruel but fun and entertaining at the same time (at least the first one).
It’s also really not all that hard once you figure out what’s most important to grow the city.

New Moon? Just kidding, looks dope. Interesting that the upcoming game The Alters has a similar premise.

Eh, it’s alright for what it is. It’s a sequel that’s mostly enjoyable and entertainable. And feels like classic Burton through and through. Catherine O’Hara and Michael Keaton are also obviously having a lot of fun.
- Comment on Seriously, what the f*** is keeping Donald Trump in this presidential race? 1 month ago:
Also, he blatantly corrupt. If you pay him enough money, you can be sure that he will rubberstamp anything you want. He’s probably even relatively cheap if you stroke his ego enough.

The original script for the Matrix had the machines use human brains for data processing, but the Wachowskis were told by the studio to simplify it.

I mean we hear the sound of our blood rushing through the veins of our ear at all times, but our brain filters it out. That the “sound of the ocean” you hear when listening into a conch, it just amplifies the bloodwaves. Other fun stuff our brain does: Our eyes are actually perceiving the world upside down and with a blind spot right in the middle.

The characters look absolutely boring design-wise too, with muted colors for some reason, giving off strong “We have Guardians of the Galaxy at home” vibes. In a hero shooter.

- Comment on How do people in this day in age become nazis/neonazies sexist or even incels when there is so much knowledge against it? Do they get anything out of being that way? 2 months ago:
Yes, but it’s important to note that confirmation bias is always present in our views of the world because our brain tends to keep things simple by prefering confirming to contradicting information. It just has been amplified by recommendation algorithms meant to increase engagement by showing you “more of the stuff you like”.
