Well, llms are kind of in the same position as sex dolls.
Scarily close to real, and dependong on what you spend unnervingly so, but not real enough that you can’t tell there’s something missing, and also you typically don’t talk to other people about how you play with them.

Really?
LLMs don’t read close to real. And the same with sex dolls, they just look fake, and they break and can’t heal. There’s nothing scarily close about either.
Maybe that’s why I’m doing so shitty in life right now. Everything fake is obviously fake to me. I can’t ignore it. People are avoiding vulnerability (for good reason) and it’s going to ruin chances at society improving.

Bullshit. You want me to believe Trump don’t buy his friend?
Mac@mander.xyz 2 months ago
Surely you don’t mean to imply Trump has friends.

That is true, he got a lot of doggy following him, bought with money.

Counterpoint: I am tired of this earth. These people. I am tired of being caught in the tangle of their lives.

I heard there’s an asteroid with a rose on it that might be available.

There’s already a friend shop, it’s called “paying for an LLM chatbot”.

I’m pretty sure those weren’t around when the little prince was written in the 1930s/40s

Revising your own airplane only gets you that far.

Real talk though, I wish everything was built s.t. you could disassemble it, understand how it works and repair most issues yourself. For more complex devices, that could mean swapping an entire module for a replacement rather than repairing it, which is something that everyone should be able to do. Selling things that are un-repairable on purpose should be a criminal offense in a world where resources and energy have to be conserved.

That would be amazing. Incompatible with capitalism though.

I will not get lectured by a guy who’s in a toxic relationship with a plant.
