no, now they’ve moved on to “re-[word that’s kinda linked]ed”
pvz replanted, epic mickey rebrushed, patapon 1+2 replay, more recently rayman legends retold…
- Comment on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake – Coming 2026 5 days ago:
props to them for just calling it its name instead of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Reocarinated or whatever like all other remakes these days
- Comment on 6 days ago:
you could always wait till it’s over and then look at a summary. or look at every game you’re interested in afterwards.
there’s no point in watching ~40 minutes of ads lol
- Comment on Gog Promotional E-Mail Containing Nazi Symbols Goes Out to Subscribers 1 week ago:
to me it’s pretty clear that it was intentional. like ffs, they explicitly chose to send the email with that title everywhere except germany because it’s illegal to have nazi symbolism there. so obviously they knew! they realized what this came across as!
idk if it’s an edgy representative, and now they’re defending that rep or something (or maybe the rep is the one writing the shitty non-apologies)… but yea, i’m downloading all my offline installers and if they don’t have a real apology and commitment to not fucking do this again then my account is gone.
fuck GOG. the ai shit was bad enough, this is fucking unacceptable. i’d rather put up with steam’s drm than give money to neonazis.

- Comment on Valve raises Steam Deck prices by more than $200 2 weeks ago:
even the base model is 1130$ without tax now 😭
i wished the steam machine would be below 1000$, but at this rate it will be over 2000 lol
- Comment on Nintendo is raising the price of the Switch 2, blaming 'market conditions' 5 weeks ago:
it’s called the Switch 2 because people who aren’t rich have to Switch 2 a different hobby

and with vanilla, you can use your computer as a gamepad, meaning you can connect your computer to your computer! truly exciting times we live in
jokes aside, this is really cool, and even using vanilla i could see it be possible to use any handheld console as a gamepad for your pc, that would be awesome for wii u/ds/3ds emulation especially!

- Comment on Sources: Nintendo is planning a new Star Fox and a major Zelda remake this year, but no 3D Mario | VGC 2 months ago:
well yea, but we haven’t been starved on mainline mario content either. we had bowser’s fury in 2020, mario wonder in 2023 (not a 3d game but still mainline), and dk bananza apparently has a lot in common with 3d mario (tho i couldn’t tell myself, i didn’t play it)

- Comment on Switch 2 demand appears to be flagging as Nintendo reportedly lowers production 2 months ago:
it doesn’t, in fact the switch 2 seems to be cheaper in the us than anywhere else (except maybe japan)
msrp is 450$ usd in the us, 630$ cad (458$ usd) in canada, 396£ (530$ usd) in the uk, 700$ aud (487$ usd) in australia, and 470€ (545$ usd) in france
i don’t think the tariffs are having much of an impact, or more likely nintendo is charging everyone to cover them
- Comment on What's your opinion on post-game content? do you do it? or are you done with the game when the credits roll? 2 months ago:
i think it depends on the game, imo post-game stuff is especially cool in sandbox-y games where there’s many things to do, whereas games that are more linear don’t really need it
but what i hate more than anything is a game that won’t acknowledge you finished it. credits roll, you load your save and you’re back in front of the final boss. i hate that, it makes me feel like the game is in a perpetual state of never being completed. at least put a pretty medal on my save file or something
- Comment on Nvidia Announces DLSS 5, and it adds... An AI slop filter over your game 2 months ago:
it doesn’t look “more realistic”, it completely changes the character’s appearance: hair that looks dyed, redder, fuller lips, more prominent cheekbones, a more defined chin, and eyes that instead of kinda looking away avoidedly, now stare at your soul through the screen (although that one might be just the lighting, idk)
basically this except more subtle, but the idea is the same, make her look more attractive under the guise of realism. it’s gross on its own, but the implications are even worse imo, just giving gooner chuds the tools to turn any game into the porn of their dreams, fuck art amirite? it’s literally turning everything you see on the computer into slop

oh i’m sure the “hire fans lol” gamer chuds will be over the moon about this

- Comment on 'We Thought It Would Be Fun': Nintendo Has a Whole FAQ on Why It's Selling Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen Separately for $20 Each - IGN 3 months ago:
everything about this release is ridiculous
20$ is way too expensive for what it is, it should honestly be 10/15$ at most
why just fire red/leaf green? why not other pokémon games? ruby, sapphire, emerald, these have never been rereleased!
why are all language versions separate purchases??? you couldn’t be arsed to bundle them?
the only new feature of this release, and really the only reason one might want to use this version instead of emulating on another platform, pokémon home compatibility, is not available at launch and will be added later. come on. - Comment on When a Nintendo lawyer joins a forum to ask for direct download links 3 months ago:

- Comment on ‘This shouldn’t be normal’: developers speak out about bigotry on Steam, the world’s biggest PC gaming storefront 3 months ago:
i didn’t have any paywall, maybe it’s a regional thing? here’s a version that shouldn’t have it.
anyways, here’s a screenshot of the Relooted review i talked about. if you check the game’s negative reviews and sort by most pertinent, it’s the 3rd one. it was here yesterday, and despite me reporting it, it’s still here today, and in fact has been here since february 11th. as time of writing, it has 373 people who found it useful, and 115 who found it funny. some of the comments under that review are critical, but most just say “based” and the like.
CW: screenshot of a racist review, makes fun of George Floyd's death
it’s an anecdotal evidence, but as you said, “you can find articles and reddit posts claiming this same exact thing going back years”, doesn’t that mean it’s a recurring problem?
- Comment on ‘This shouldn’t be normal’: developers speak out about bigotry on Steam, the world’s biggest PC gaming storefront 3 months ago:
as the article mentions, if you’d bothered to read it, steam rarely enforces their guidelines, which is the problem here
- Comment on ‘This shouldn’t be normal’: developers speak out about bigotry on Steam, the world’s biggest PC gaming storefront 3 months ago:
for a more recent example, the negative reviews under Relooted are fucking sickening. one of the top ones is a joke making fun of George Floyd’s death.
what does steam do? nothing. valve is one of the most profitable companies per employee out there, and they have no pressure from investors to botch their work, they could absolutely moderate.
they actively choose not to, because despite what bootlickers on lemmy would have you believe, gabe newell is a libertarian dipshit who values “free speech” over the safety of marginalized people.

- Comment on What digital indie games would you like to see at libraries? 4 months ago:
i think Undertale would be a perfect fit for a library, it’s an amazing game with a great story (and especially great characters), it encourages compassion, and it’s not too long, so if you play it well you’re likely to finish it before having to return it!
