- Comment on 65% of workers are interested in ‘microshifting’ their schedules as an alternative to the strict 9-to-5: It’s ‘a way to reclaim control’ 1 day ago:
Not everyone is the same and I think that’s the point. Everyone has different personal lives. Some people have ill family members that need extra care, some people have kids, etc.
Totally fair it doesn’t work for you. There’s a lot of talk about neurodivergency these days too and likely part of it. Different people’s brains also work differently, of course.
I’m all for flexibility. It’s truly a simple problem - you’re expected to complete a certain amount of something during a day, you have deadlines. Does it matter how or when it gets done as long as it’s done on time?
It’s all just managing expectations.
- Comment on The consequences of not building enough housing 3 days ago:
I’m not really buying the no housing thing now. The thing is, it turned into a commodity. If you just build more, then those with all the money (because that gap is pretty damn vast nowadays) will just buy and hold and rent them
Wait till air comes next, or some stupid ass shit.

Weird. How did you get that shortcut? Bizarre.

- Comment on Nintendo Switch 2 sales stumble over Christmas 1 week ago:
Wow crazy. My deck works pretty hard emulating switch 1, but keeps up fine. I imagine emulating switch 2 would not perform well.

You’re right, some people are just not patient

As a driver I hate cyclists on the road.
As a cyclist I hate cars on the road.
There is the crux of the problem and why bike lanes are so good

Thanks, been waiting to play this one.
Though, epic Games licks ass. I’d rather buy it on steam right now for $5.

I don’t recall having to create an account for this one

I bought red dead redemption 2 on sale, didn’t pay attention to those things, saw it demanded I create an account to play it, I closed it and refunded it.
Fuck this practice.

- Comment on Indie Game Awards Disqualifies Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Due To Gen AI Usage 4 weeks ago:
Ya it has its place for sure, for example I’d rather have rpg conversations with an AI NPC than some prescripted repeated nonsense. Maybe that’s just me though.

This is a valid point for sure. If I didn’t receive ms office for free I’d use LibreOffice. I do use it on a personal level though.

Perhaps you work for geek squad, or at USPS, or a mill.
You won’t get it until you’ve been working at big companies that use Excel extensively. Shifting priorities, support people to support the products they’re using, skeleton crew for IT staff, a support lifeline if needed, etc. Or you haven’t met many managers…
- Comment on Clippy had the best suggestions 4 weeks ago:
I feel this so hard right now.
- Comment on Word. 4 weeks ago:
Because businesses have been using it for decades, they have old spreadsheets with all kinds of functions and shit that may not easily port over, etc.
The unfortunate reality.

That’s fair. Imagine if people invested that much time into calc. A person can dream…
