I live in an Eastern European country
I live in a Western European country. I have listened to music on CD, i used to own Encyclopedias and i own a copy of DOOM on floppy!
I own a copy of DOOM in a book

But only because we pay in cash and block buster was never a thing here.
I have touched a type writer but never used it for writing letters or whatever you write with it.
I just sent a fax a few days ago…
I never owned a walkman or discman but my older sister had a discman and I got one of the first mp3 players xD.
Yeah I score 0 but quite a few of these are more “because there was an old one there and I felt like trying it out” rather than because I needed to use them daily.
Lived in a small city. No point in recording radio to tape… You’ll hear the same songs again tomorrow anyway.
Walkman was the only game in town as I remember. Where there generic versions? Think maybe I had a shitty one, but Walkman was the gold standard.
And so were the headphones! First in-ear audio that actually rocked out. Again, not sure there was much of anything else, but Iron Maiden thumped in those things. Now I want another pair.
I would love to find a pair of the earbuds that came with the OG Game Boy. I don’t know if they were the best things ever, or if I wasn’t so much of an audiophile then.
There were alternative portable tape players. Maybe not right away but there definitely were.
I know it’s capitalized, but I read it as a generalization like Band-Aid, Frisbee, or Chapstick. Most people aren’t referring to only the name brand versions. Of course, maybe I’m wrong and I missed out on my perfect zero.
Could be yeah.
Every gen-x’er is gonna score a 20.
Or a zero if they read the point system correctly ;)
Well shit….
Reading is fun for mentals…
German newborns have to fax their crying to the hospital’s management for them to be declared healthy
I must have read this comment 10 times before deciding you are probably joking.

4 points. Being a 90’s baby, got to do a fair number of these.
Boooommmm, bitches, 20 points! I win!
2 I’ve never really used a typewriter, I’ve never listened to a vinyl record. Everything else was relatively common growing up in the 90s, being born in the late 80s.
9 Points. Can you guess how old I am with that info?
I guess then that you have gotten 0 points.
I was born at the start of the '90s, and I only got 1 point.
0 of course, old guys rule!
1 point because cheques have always been rare in my country.
2 if you are strict with the Blockbuster thing, we had Videoland instead but I have rented video tapes from a video rental store like Blockbuster.
14…yall know half this shit is still valid or required.
Paper checks and faxes are still in use and Japan got rid of floppy disks in govt right before plague. (Shit, that was 5 years ago…)
WHAT DECADE IS IT!?!?!
Why is the 8-track never on these lists?
Cause it’s too old for the list writers to know about? Also, their adoption rate was pretty poor.
2 points. I did technically “use” my dad’s old typewriter once or twice, but only to check it out/play with it, not to actually write something. Have never paid by cheque. Have done all the others.
5, but only because i love to tinker with old technology (Gen Z)
There were no blockbuster where I come from so I have 1 pont. Suck it up loosers!
Why are people attacking me so much online today?
Does Encarta count as owning an encyclopedia?
So many memories just came flooding back…
19… Only one I missed was Blockbuster. We didn’t have one where I lived but I have rented videos.
I’m gonna say that counts. They shouldn’t have specific a specific rental place.
Late 20s - 2 points
1 point. Never rented a video from Blockbuster. But did rent VHS/CD/DVD movies from local chain.
I think that should count the same
But probably -1 for not only rotary phone but “party line”; sometimes you couldn’t use the phone because someone else, in another house, was using that line.
Wasn’t that the case for like, all landlines?..

We’re old.
Haha I had the same thought initially. Then I thought it was really neat how far we have come from those days… It’s kind of crazy, I can’t wait to see what comes next in terms of advancements in technology and science working in harmony with nature.
I got 8 Points and I was born this century.
