Tis the season for lots of cat boxes!
đśTra La La La La!
Ok, enough of that shit.
I donât use spotify but I think Iâll spare everyone my music âwrapâ today :)
But this is for the Studspud:
Jumping from chilli to chilli leaving a wake of aphid destruction. The leaf curl you see could be aphids⌠or used be heh.
Good to see them in there on their own accord.
THANK YOUUUUU!!! So pretty đđđ
If I were a cheese, I would be a Gorgonzola. Itâs not a popular cheese and can be quite salty with a bite from my blue veining. However, there are devout followers who love to crumble it on a boring salad to make it interesting.
Spreadable Goats cheese in the tub from Aldi. Cheap and spread thinly.
A daily driverđ
đ
I donât know about cheese at all, and only eat tasty cheddar, Colby, or parmesan (and donât even think Iâve ever tried anything else), so I asked GPT:
You are Gorgonzola. Complex, bold, and quietly powerfulâbecause even the subtlest blue leaves a lasting impression.
I tend to gravitate toward the familiar as well.
gorgonzola represent đ
also, blue vein cheddar
I donât know you but I feel like itâs a perfect summation
Yasss, I love Harvarti!
It made for a good pizza at bimbos.
and on a steak!
OMG, Bimbos, thereâs a blast.
Iâd be a vintage cheddar. An acquired taste.
One of those crumbly Mersey Valley types?
Donât sell yourself short. Thereâs always room for you on the platter haha
Also love vintage cheddarâŚ
Man, all this cheese talk got me hungryâŚ
Feta. Salty and crumbles easily.
Another fantastic salad addition, we would be lost without Feta.
Iâd be that cheddar you get in the box off the non refrigerated shelf. Odd, tasty and melts a lot better than youâd expect.
You have a long shelf life?
Triple Brie with Truffle: Overpriced bougie BS, probably synthetic, but heat/spread yadda yadda.
(I also typed less resistance, but either way, cheese = smut. đ)
Ricotta. Soft, kinda sweet, makes things creamy, can be easy to forget about in the back of the fridge.
I love ricotta. I use it in my lasagna instead of bechamel
I think Iâd be a Red Leicester. Basic cheddar style with a bit of sauce mixed in.
Basic, but willing to be a bit saucy?!
Sorry, Iâm allergic to penicillin.
(Yes, I know many say the cheese doesnât count, I prefer not to risk it)
We arenât listing our various ailments. You have to tell us what kind of cheese you would be.đĽ¸
Nothing against you!
Gongonzola cheese has the tang of a fungal illness to my tongue. đ
Thass wuss up.đ
Against all resistance from ky Jody Iâm doing the washing today to take advantage of the heat and sun outside.
Hope Iâve made the right choice.
Yes you have. The weekend forecast is looking dire.
Iâm meant to take my niece to see the rellos in outer Ballarat on Saturday and legitimately considering v/line + pickup rather than driving on the western in those conditions after such a long week.
My Spotify wrapped has been disappointing me over the past few years. I used to have such an eclectic music taste, but getting older Iâm listening to whatâs familiar to me a bit too much. I donât like the complacency.
Going to spend the next few weeks saving some new music to listen over the holidays, and listening to albums Iâve saved over the year but never bothered to listen. Currently listening to Magdalena Bay - Imaginal Disk, for fans of synth-pop and prog-rock this one is for you.
Spotify recommends stuff you already play so thatâs why I ask the DT for new stuff. The only new artist that I really really like is Dua Lipa.
Dua Lipa, Chappell Roan, Charlie XCX, and Olivia Rodrigo are really great! Canât recommend Chappell enough!!
Ahaha, mine is out of control.
Top songs were all songs in English by non-English artists: Thai, Cambodian, Taiwanese and Korean.
My top artists were: TanerĂŠlle, Limi, WIM, Sleep Token and Keshi. đ¤Ł
I forgot I listened to so much TanerĂŠlle this year.
But I listen to such a wide variety, itâs not really a surprise.
IMO Wrapped doesnât really handle eclectic tastes really well. Makes the results seem super random.
You might like Can if youâre a fan of prog rock
Mine was all Käärijä and Chappell Roan đ I think I will also have to expand my listening and see what pops up next year lol!
Now thatâs eclectic! I was expecting Chappell in my top 5, but no. I swear I thrashed her album this year.
Discover weekly and the radio channels (where you click the radio button based on a specific song and it plays more songs like it) are how I find a lot of new music
I put it on as background noise while Iâm doing other things and if I start bobbing my head, I probably like a song
taught tinyset to âcheersâ last night. thought it was gonna take a while over a couple of days but he kept stopping eating dinner to do it. He doesnt always say cheers, but about 50% of the time he does. thank god i was drinking water or iâd be under the table!
Theyâre so adorable at that age! Brains are literal sponges and itâs just amazing to see them grow and get smarter and smarter! I think your raising a fine lil dude!
you arnt wrong. hes recently started to work on communication, not just saying words. He will sometimes try copy what you say, he wants to learn the pets names. its crazy how he went from a crying potato last year to this confident toddler in like 12 months.
Thatâs adorable!
Itâs funny how they copy you and how literal they are. I wanted my son to close the recycling so I closed it with my foot because that was easier for me, I thought heâd push it closed with his hands at his height. Nope, he had to try push the recycling closed with his foot as well
Oh yeah you gotta be super careful with how you act hey. Terrified of him learning to drive like his mum.
Fire alarm. Fucksakes
Itâs always someone burning their toast and then venting their apartment into the common areas, isnât it
Burnt toast or someone managing to knock off a sprinkler head in the carpark.
Baku bang on 12!! đđ
12:00:01, actually. I was close, but narrowly missed đ
(Pretty sure the Reddit autobot was less on the mark though)
IT HERE
Opened the box under my camera as planned. No dramas. No scam. He seemed unhappy I didnât give him the number over the phone, but I was waiting outside, saw him pull in, and started giving him the code as soon as he was ready. Unless he truly had bad intentions he canât be upset about that
All in all, Iâm happy. Now my wifi needs should be future proofed for like a decade unless something breaks. Wifi 7 is too expensive, so itâs just wifi 6e, and only gigabit (with a single 2.5gbps port). Way over kill for my 100mbps FTTC plan, but I live in hope that one day I shall behold gigabit FTTP
skipped the coffee today, no coke either. those 2 black teas are the pillar of my consciousness today but they are pretty wonky pillars. Sometimes I wonder how much coffee powers my mental health barriers and that just makes the days easier? Maybe thats a thread I dont really want to pull on.
Iâm in a very bad mood over having to pay for something and now not having much to spare for the next few weeks.
Super moody and annoyed.
I am also very grumpy thanks to the heat and this extremely easily avoidable $198 fine. Currently calculating how much more hours Iâd have to work to earn that backâŚ
Letâs be grumpy together.
Speedster?
If youâve been a good kitten the last few years, you might be able to apply to have it downgraded to a warning
I lost my birth certificate AND my passport so I had to jump on Vic Birth Death Marriages website and jump through hoops (on my own end) to order a new birth certificate. My god what a horrible, unintuitive website. I have no idea if Iâve done it correctly or if it is being proceeded now or not.
Also noticed there seems to be somebody downvoting all the DTs. Bit weird. Wonder if itâs people browsing /all getting the shits that theyâre seeing posts every day about something they think is irrelevant. Odd way to live, considering thereâs no algorithm on Lemmy to learn from your voting habits, but oh well
I feel like Iâm in limbo. Dunno what to do now.
đť
I braved the outside and I have sweaty regrets
Kind of glad uni fieldwork ended early today, Iâm so fried. Bad news is some setbacks re method, good news is weâve gotten a lot more context and some real direction with where to go
I was given my prezzie early and have been having great fun with it in between work things. Think Iâll break the cultural loading and make my own book choices though.
Must haves Hungry Caterpillar, Grug, Mr Grumpy, Smoke & Fluff. Other ideas welcome. Needs to be recognisable at 9x14mm
I donât play any music services , just play LPs, youtube and my itunes
my most popular plays would be The New World soundtrack, Argylle soundtrack, Hobbit, Dune, some wagner www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0l6xfQpgt0
And I play every single music recommendation youse guys post. đ
Not only do I have to go out this morning but I have to go to the post office. Make this a quick death please.
I keep waking up to lots of long grey cat fur on my keyboard.
who could it be?
I love animals so much. All of them but cats are the best
such a beautiful night outside , the air is warm soft and has a sweet scent of trees and flowers
fruit bats fly overhead and the stars and planets are twinkling
good night đđđ
Got mesh setup :)
As predicted, bit janky. Not sure Iâd recommend to link deco mesh for somebody whoâs not comfortable navigating unhelpful error messages
I did come to the unfortunate realisation that chocolate topping I thought was empty (and closed) spilled onto a laptop I had running an ArchiveTeam warrior and BOINC projects. Itâs probably been seeking in, basking in the hot cpu for 2 or 3 days
I isopropylâd as much as I could, but Iâm not confident in laptop disassembly. Now debating if itâs worth taking it to a repair shop to get a proper scrub done, or hoping my surface level (plus whatever IPA seeped inside) fixes it
Today has been really rough for anxiety. Everything is hard right now and itâs a real struggle to cope. I caved and napped but at least I saw some sun and that will help nudge me towards the daytime.
Melbcat gets her b shots tomorrow and Iâm really nervous about learning to do it.
The alyssum seeds have a best before of August⌠guess Iâll see if they sprout. The nasturtium should be fine. Thereâs an abandoned patch of earth thatâs technically mine that I could sow directly into but I kind of donât want to go out there because of unprotected proximity to a violent crazy neighbour and cooked passers by.
I might sow them into a container until theyâre stronger then either plant them fast when the coast seems clear - or use recycled containers as pots. Or see how well they fight it out with the invasive grass thatâs taken over what little soil I have in the yard.
I would have preferred these be native plants⌠Just trying to get some pollinators and good bugs in here and using what I could easily get my hands on.
I might spritz the zucchini with very weak soapy water, maybe like a drop of natural dish detergent, then water it off tonight.
I just counted 9 different cheeses in my fridge.
