So I think the friend outing I planned went well. There’s existing cracks there but when we’re all together having a good time, it’s really good.

I planned a friend outing for this evening and honestly I don’t know why I bother. I’ve been getting slow responses during planning, slower than usual, feels like I’m forcing these people to hang out with me. They can say no? Maybe I’m reading too much into this but it’s consistent with other things that have happened which make it feel like we’re distancing. Don’t say I didn’t try if these friends aren’t in my life in future. I don’t even want to go anymore.

There were some ominous looking clouds before but it’s cleared up. My garden needs a drink bad.
The cool chant is so nice though, go away unseasonable warmth.

Cleaned out the garage, no sign of dead rodent. I’m guessing it’s somewhere above the ceiling and below the roof and the smell is coming through. So just have to wait it out. Kinda concerning, I hope this isn’t a start of a bigger problem. On the bright side, garage is now clean and tidy!

The weird corner with the draws and the peninsula, why? Can you even open those draws fully?

UNO is a classic. Never gets boring. Cards against humanity gets pulled out a fair bit at friend game gatherings as well.

Mmm I don’t think it’s close by. I’m starting to think something has died in there like a mouse.

My garage smells like poop? Noticed it last night when I came home and it’s still there today (and stronger). Going to have to clean it out over long weekend and find the source. Couldn’t see any animal poop on the ground. What else could it be?

People who type on loud clacky keyboards in an open place workspaces are psychopaths. The keyboard is not balanced on the desk as well, so it rocks when typing adding to the wall of sound.

I reckon a chef (who also cleans the kitchen one done), delicious meals prepared for me and time saved cooking / cleaning would transform my life.

I’m getting 164.9 on my 7/11 app as best local price, so good idea to lock in a price.

Feels like summer, looks distinctly autumn through with the trees changing colours. It’s weird but I don’t hate not being cold.

Back home after picking up my mum from the hospital. I left around 3am once we realised she wasn’t going to get seen by the doctor for hours, and I would be too tired to safely drive her home. Took until 10am to get her scans done, and 3pm to get the all clear, so a long stint in ED. She’s just got some bruises and she’s a bit sore, so glad that’s all it is.
I went to the tow truck place to clear out her car and she’s lucky the collison was on the passenger side and not the driver side, because she would have been severely injured. The other person involved was completely fine, newer car with way more airbags that cushioned the impact.
Barely slept last night and all the driving around today, I’m exhausted.

I’m at the ED at hospital. My mum was in a really bad car accident. Thankfully it’s just bruising but it could have been much, much worse. Her car was totalled. Driving up to the accident seeing all the police / ambulance / fire truck lights and then her totalled car was truly scary. I’m just thankful she’s OK. Waiting to do scans to make sure nothing is broken, then I’ll drive her home.

I’m shocked people still use Comic Sans in this day and age.

What’s your most hated font? Every time I come across a document or email in Arial I just want to change it right away. It’s so bland.

I’m OK with one final round of warmth, adjusting to the sudden cold with the early darkness at the same time has been a bit tough.

It’s changed a lot, the signs of gentrification all over but the old Footscray is still very much there. It’s a unique place.

Had a late one yesterday and no energy for cooking anything so took myself out to a sit-down brunch for the first time in a while. I remember why I don’t do this anymore. So expensive and small servings. At least the coffee slapped, I’m feeling human again.

I made it for a new year party and it was a hit! So going to impress different friends with it.
Here’s the recipe I use. I don’t bother with the cream topping for a pie I need to transport and want to make the day before eating, and it’s still very nice without it. But I’d do it for a home pie. And there’s usually some leftover cream filling you can eat on its own.
Last time I did a biscoff base instead of Oreo like the recipe calls for, this time I’ll try the Oreo.

What a shitty week. Work finally done, going to go for a walk to soak up the last of the warmth. Then I need to make my chocolate pie for a friends dinner tomorrow, will have a beer during to make it more fun. THEN I can relax.
