I think I’m going to bail on that 1st birthday this weekend. The only people I know at this birthday are the parents and they’re going to be busy socialising with everyone, and I’ll probably feel awkward in this setting being childless. I’ll just message the day before that I’m sick and don’t want to spread germs. Does this make me a bad friend? I’ll plan a catch up with this friend in a few weeks and still give a present then.

I have a draw of very tangled cables collected over the years. I’m sure I have one of everything by now but digging through there is not fun.

My fav local banh mi place is still slinging loaded rolls for $7.50 and is never that busy, I hope it never gets a glow up. The salted coffee sounds great tho.

I heard about those pictures of death cap mushrooms being weighed this morning and I was thinking - did they mention that evidence during the trial reporting? Because that would not have made her look innocent to the jury.

Did you go into a Hobbit house? Not sure I did that when I was there.

Muting people on my Insta posting about being in Europe. I’m happy for them and all, and yes I’m jealous, but I don’t need to see daily stories & every-other-day profile posts about your trip.

Check your employment agreement - it might say you need need your employer’s permission to have a side gig.
You have to issue invoices with your ABN on them. I use Xero for my invoicing, but my side gig is my whole gig so it’s worth paying for proper accounting software. There’s probably a cheaper (or free) option out there for creating invoices.
If you’re not registered for GST as well, then I think you don’t need to charge any GST for your services. GST reg is needed if you’ll earn over $75k in a year.
You declare the income for your side gigs in your tax return and pay tax to ATO at that point.

Channel 7’s got the chopper out in Morwell to show us Erin being driven in a prison van from the court. Riverting journalism right here.

It doesn’t feel bone chillingly cold outside tonight for a change.
Pasta bake for dins, had some frozen leftover meat sauce and making the meal more interesting by adding a copious amount of cheese and baking.

I need to buy a present for a 1st birthday I’m going to next week (for a boy). I was thinking some clothes (bigger size he can grow into) and maybe a kid’s book? Any other ideas? Budget is $50-ish dollars.

I was part of the Medibank, Optus and Latitude cyber hacks, and just received a notification from Qantas that I’m involved in theirs. Protection of my personal information is just meaningless at this point.

At my co-working space they do a free breakfast on Wednesdays - you best believe I loaded up my plate. There was waffles with chocolate sauce, English muffins with ham and cheese, croissants, yoghurt with fruit, donuts, I got it all. Food coma incoming. And I brought my own lunch too.

Don’t have much time for dinner tonight - I have those fresh chicken kievs from Aldi so going to air fry that with a side of veggies and maybe some chips too.

Not guilty. I do think she did it but the evidence / case against her isn’t strong enough.

I thanked him as he was getting off the train. He was so calm and collected throughout. Even though he told me he was getting a little worried about something bad happening. There really are good samaritans out there 😇

I have Loop but you need to buy the model specific for concerts, not sleeping. I had the sleeping ones initially and used at concerts, which I didn’t love, but once I switched it was a much better listening experience.

My Myki worked! But then on the train someone mentally unwell got on board with no shirt on and was shouting at nobody. He sat a few blocks of seats away from me. Then he got up and started approaching people sitting and yelling in their faces. Most people’s strategy was to ignore. One person was talking to him, asking questions about where he was going and who he was going to see, and that seemed to calm him down. Then he came to me and asked to use my phone which I was gripping tightly in my hand. I said no, and he started repeating the question more angrily. I was honestly frozen in anxiety, after the pumpkin episode and all. Getting ready to defend myself if he tried to snatch the phone or attack me. Lucky the man who had been talking to him noticed what was happening and asked him a question, he turned away and kept talking to him. And eventually got off at Footscray. That was not the relaxing train trip I had in mind for this morning.

Started making dinner at 7pm, bad idea. Just sat down after getting through dish mountain and cleaning up around the place. I made chicken katsu curry for the first time, will be adding that to my stale dinner rotation.

I can feel the freezing air coming through the window of my office. I think it’s more obvious today because of how cold it is and maybe the direction of the wind is perfect south as this is a south-facing room. Must counteract with heating ($$$).

I bought these frozen cookies in a zip-lock packet from Woolies that you bake fresh, which is happening right now. Mmm 11pm cookies. I will restrain myself and leave some for tomorrow.
