Convinced the team to go to a nice winery for a tour and lunch because why not? There is every possibility we could actually do something there so you could say it’s justified. They were impressed at the very least

These days you can buy a game and it doesn’t even come with a disc. Or it might, but it’s just the licence for the game and you still need internet to actually download it.

I’m thinking of switching my big PC over from Mint to Bazzite. I just haven’t been happy with Mint’s performance on some games, but the laptop has worked well.
I also like the extra WINE options I get between Lutris, Heroic, the WINE GUI launcher, and a few others. I’ve spent some time on MyAbandonWare and I’ve been able to get some of the oldest and most unsupported games working on there

For a while I’ve felt like I’d rather fuck around with plugging my laptop into the TV and dealing with the audio issues that can crop up than ever turn on a console.
This was reinforced a while ago when my girlfriend broke out her old disney infinity stuff for the kids. She had to sign in to her PlayStation account just to play local coop, which then forced a bunch of system and game updates. Truly a terrible experience.
Aside from the audio devices being annoying, the laptop needs to fully turn on before it will detect any other audio devices, Bazzite has Just Worked and I’ve been really enjoying it

I get cash out after trivia because it’s in a small town where an ATM is actually conveniently down the main street. I’ve decided $130 is a good amount to get out because it gives you four twenties and a fifty.
$180 would also be good for similar reasons. Those flat amounts that just give you fifties are too annoying because it’s still too big an amount to break on smaller things and when I’m getting close to spending $50 I would probably lean towards using my card anyway

I hope it went well. You can always be a solo team, but have your name ready as it’s the first thing they’ll ask and few are prepared

Back to Trivia today. I was going to start earlier but had to sort out some family medical stuff. I swung by to drop off the gear and it looks like the numbers are going up. It will be interesting to see what the crowd is like today

I heard Fedora has some arrangement with Microsoft as well. I think you can install it on BIOS locked computers as well. Handy to know if you’re ever in this situation again

I was this close to going for a bike ride, then I heard the bedroom door slowly open. One of the kids woke up and no one else is up to watch him.
I want to try do more normal bike rides when I can and not just ride the ebike to work a few days a week

I’ve been struggling with the homepage of the website for ages. I only just found out there’s a template that overrides the homepage for some reason. At least I can edit that template, but it means I can’t just build another homepage in the background and switch them out when I feel like it. I’m going to see if it’s possible to deactivate it in the template

Ask my girlfriend and we already have too much of each. I’ve had a look at the website hoping to find something ‘useful’ but nothing stands out. And there’s nothing in the kids’ section that just bumps it over, which is the area I’m looking to buy from anyway

That’s actually a good idea. Hit the free postage and the discount then take the thing I don’t want back

I need to pick one more thing from Adairs to qualify for free postage and use a $20 discount code but I’m the wrong gender to care about anything else from there

I thought vets always did it to be cute but it probably helps line up animals and owners in their system.
It’s extra funny when a pet is called something stupid because the last name then makes it sound so formal

It was a bit of a joke, every tall person is very aware they’re tall.
I had a similar job one time. I had an occasional job putting bladders into shipping containers to turn them into giant goon bags for bulk liquid transport. I’d go in and do a couple of shipping containers myself in the morning, the manager would put a few extra hours down for free for me, then I’d start my afternoon shift at Big W

New guy in the costumer service team at work. I think I remember seeing him being interviewed. I wonder if he’ll last longer than the other woman that just left one morning. He’s young so I think he’ll take to it pretty well.
He’s also really tall, like really tall. I wonder if I should tell him that? I wonder if anyone’s pointed it out to him before?

This is a hard one because there are so many good places. One tip is a lot of good food places have gone up high street from Northcote all the way up to Preston instead of Collingwood/Fitzroy because of rent. You can find good stuff out west as it’s been getting gentrified too

Feelin’ a bit zonked from two shows in a row but that’s why I knew I had to get on the bike to work today. Still feelin’ it but I’ll be glad I did when i get home

Running water should be enough to stop mosquitoes but a filter would be great for everything else that gets caught in there. I think I’ll do the dribble timer next hot day we have too
- Comment on Discussion Thread 🐚 Tuesday 27 January 2026 1 week ago:
I had the brilliant idea tonight when filling the water tray for animals to put the timer on and set it to a slow trickle. That’ll keep it topped up and I know some animals are more likely to drink from running water than still

Thank god this gig tonight is at the Croxton. It’s close to home and has decent parking. Just as long as the air conditioner works well in there
