So my girlfriend thinks Home Is Where The Gutter Is by King Parrot is inappropriate for kids. But the ending is so funny.

Yeah, they had the classic chips and tendies but they were only for some sports club doing awards at the same time. Massive oversight for such a family event. I would have bought two so the boys could have an easy feed

Went to a petting zoo and food stalls up at Marnong Estate in the north this morning. It was a great spot and worth going to even if you don’t get tickets to the petting zoo which sell out quickly.
The only problems for us was it was windy and one of the boys was getting scared of the wind, and there wasn’t really food that was easy for little kids to eat. Gyros lamb rolls and burgers are good, but little hands and developing fine motor skills can’t really get their heads around burgers without there being a massive mess.
That said, food was surprisingly cheap. $10 for a burger and you got a $10 for each paid petting zoo ticket so it could almost be a free lunch

She was going about her day and she was nice to us. People have things going on in their lives others will never understand but we can still be kind to each other

Took a train trip to Thomastown and the station’s resident crackhead was very helpful when we were trying to c change the boy’s nappy. She felt like quirky sort of NPC in the starting world of a game that teaches you all the mechanics.
I hope your phone finishes charging, Thomastown station crackhead lady.

I think I’ll finally take the trailer pram in to get fixed. With the boys getting older their sleep window is getting shorter to duck out and do things. sometimes they don’t sleep at all

My pro 2 has been solid for years. The 3 looks great and whilst no removable battery is a downgrade everything else in it seems solid

I’ve decided to pull the trigger and get a wireless numpad. I got this 75% keyboard and whilst it has been great, I like having the numbers in a tidy square too much.
I think a detached numpad is the way to go because they stick out the side of your keyboard and you don’t need them until you really need them. Wireless lets you put it away when not in use and you can put it on either side of the keyboard as well. As a lefty I’ve wished for a left side numpad for a long time.
I think I’ll get the 8bitdo one as it has a screen and can work as an independent calculator as well. Great for not needing to add a calculator window to your screens on top of everything else.

I think it’s good but whether anything comes of it is a separate issue. And unless people from your old place talk to others there’s no way for anyone to know. It’s almost surprising what you can still get away with in the working world by either just omitting things or having someone to back you up.

I’m on YouTube Music for the other benefits but there’s so much of it that sucks. Tidal gives the best royalties to artists but I’m not sure what the rest of it is like

I’ve tidied up a playlist of albums from 2022 I want to listen to and now it’s 1 song from each album, so I can scroll through the list easier and go to the album to add to my queue. There are 125 tracks in there, each representing a larger album. I should probably do this for my other playlists as well.
That being said, the way we have to track and group music through streaming is terrible and this interface shows how the platforms are trying to kill the album. On Youtube Music you can’t even sort things by release date, which is bullshit because alternative Youtube Music frontends let you.
I swear to god, if a streaming service offered something like album shuffle, or album playlists I would switch in an instant.

There are some sections of very precision platforming. The hardest parts are towards the end of the game and are completely optional based on what ending you want. They are both tough games, but they’re so cheap you can just pick Hollow Knight up and just give it a go. Plus, it’s Australian made.

It’s great being able to play Silksong on a laptop as I can do it in the bedroom when the kids don’t settle properly, but I think I should save some of the harder stuff for the big computer. Silksong has an uncapped framerate so maybe the extra responsiveness of the big monitor might make a difference. Plus, the game looks gorgeous in 4k

Starting at a normal time is the worst. I can do the drive to work in less than half an hour and even home again if I leave early. The worst part of it is getting up

Are they going to face greater penalties other than having to pay the wages back? You know, the almost billion dollars they’ve been collecting interest on and using as a asset to borrow against?
What would the penalties be if one of their employees was caught having a cheeky mars bar whilst on their shift for a comparison?

I watched some videos on trams in Slovakia with the boys and they look very similar to our E Class trams. The design of trams is probably centring on one specific shape that works.
But what also struck me is how quiet the videos are. These trams are completely separated from cars and there’s almost no sound in the videos. The trams don’t even ding when they take off.
It’s great timing as I recently watched the Not Just Bikes video on why trams are great and street cars suck, and I feel like Melbourne Trams are right in the middle.

I think about this with riding the bike. It’s 10 minutes slower than driving. I could see that as 20 minutes of exercise a day instead of wasted time getting to and from work

I had that with a candle I bought for my girlfriend. You didn’t even have to light it, you could just open the lid and smell it since it was so strong.
Also, I remember reading a guide on how to burn a candle years ago. It sounds like a silly concept but it was advice on how to stop the wick tunneling into the wax so it was actually quite useful
