Printer connected to the Bazzite desktop and it wasn’t a nightmare to do. It was just harder than it seemed because I hadn’t put paper in yet so I kept declining the test print and it wasn’t clearly stating it was connected otherwise

Oh no, turns out the FM synth I got off Aliexpress has a bunch of different firmwares out there that all look really good. I just bought one because it was a capable synth that was surprisingly cheap, I saw it as a potential beatmaker but not much more than an elaborate toy.
You can turn this thing into a groovebox, play Doom on it, make it a dungeonsynth machine. I thought they were cheap but the real cost is in buying multiple to have each firmware at hand at all times. I can’t believe what a sucker I’ve been

It sounds tough but it’s really up to your daughter. Would doing this to her eyes now help her out long term? If her eyes would just get worse then it might be good to correct things early. I’m sure she’s aware of the risks involved

The “work” PC I ordered arrived yesterday, much sooner than expected. I would have been fine with it taking 6 weeks to be a Christmas present for myself but here it is. Sat down and learned how to use FFMPEG to convert files last night. It might sound sacrilegious but I want to convert some flacs to mp3. These are car songs for the kids, I needed to convert whole folders at a time because we don’t need 1gb albums in the car

I feel like I kicked off a bit of a boot buying trend at work. All these women commented how nice my new boots look and now they’re ordering boots for their husbands. One woman got the caramel Craftmens. They look good in photos, even the quick ones I took on my phone, but are an off looking yellowy brown in person. I’m sure once they have some wear on them they’ll look great though.

Roll’d for lunch, got 4 rice paper rolls. They gave me 4 pots of garlic chili oil, one each! I had to pour the last of the second pot into the third, now I have two left for something else. Decent amount of spice on these things too

I was reading how to get that nice foam on an espresso martini and you need to shake the shit out of it. My cocktail shaker doesn’t seal properly so I’ll have to get a new one of those.

I protect myself professionally by just requesting access to every document I come across. I’ve seen the memes about saying you’ve started something, then when you actually get around to it realising you didn’t have access the whole time.
So I just request access to everything. Doesn’t matter if I need it. The people on the other end think I’m interested in everything, and I’ll never get caught out in the “Request Access” trap again

I think I’d like it of conversations with my manager were more him saying “I’m being asked questions about this/this is what the business is trying to achieve/this is what I need (or want) for an upcoming thing.”
