I know how massive those must be and I’m quite torrent happy myself so I’ll download them when I have some decent storage and actual use for them

The reason for that saying is there has been research that men will apply for a job if they think they meet about 40% of a job description, whereas a woman will usually only apply for a job if they’re confident they can do 100% of the tasks listed.
And from my experience there are times when the only way to get anywhere in the job market is quantity over quality. So at times I’ll just put in for things because job titles match or it feels like something I can do based on vibes. Don’t be afraid to just put in for something, even if you feel like it’s a stretch. Jobs take more from us than we ever give them so fuck’em

I’m going to ignore everything you’ve said and guess Kontact by Native Instruments because that shit is so expensive and not really all that impressive

Can’t wait until I’m retired so I can make the weekly pilgrimage to Nova and Brunetti’s Carlton to watch some esoteric film or 50th anniversary of some exploitation B movie at lunchtime on a weekday

Dealing with two miserable kids to then have to be like, “Okay, time to go to work.” I felt like I needed a sit down and some Time On Phone after everything in the morning.

Picked up the laybuy for the kids’ birthdays and christmas today. On the way out I went through the self serve and the camera picked up the laybuy in my trolley. So it’s good to know that tracking stuff is in use already, if I kept my trolley out of view it wouldn’t have seen the stuff still in there.

I get it, a sticker of another QR code over the top of another one can take you to a number of fun places. Not ideal but these are going on some farm equipment to access the maintenance manual so they won’t be super public once bought

Even that’s beyond them. That’s the level of tech literacy I’m dealing with here

There are some older people in my team that don’t quite understand how a QR code works. They say ‘this poster needs a QR code on it.’ so you ask, ‘where do you want it to go?’ and they kind of get lost. Same with the concept you need to build the destination for a QR code before you just put one somewhere.

I’ll probably end up having more of it now so I’ll be able to develop more of an opinion. My biggest memory with them is i got the chicken schnitzel salad for my kids a while after they started solids and it was weirdly spicy so they couldn’t eat it

There was general excitement at work today because the new Soul Origin had opened nearby. You know that place always in the middle of shopping centres that sells whatever salads?
Well, a Carl’s Jr closed down near work and Soul Origin of all places moved in. This is a free standing building with a drivethrough. I probably won’t go over the local cafes too much but at least I can get a coffee after 2 somewhere nearby now

It’s good you’re doing this. I remember when looking for jobs explaining to my parents that the local Big W doesn’t do it’s own hiring and you have to apply online for the head office to look at. Sometimes parents don’t realise how much the job market has changed

A child sitting on your lap insisting they watch train videos on your phone means no ride in today. Since yesterday wasn’t so bad, I wonder if all that rain planned for next week will pan out?

I read an opinion piece that St Anger is an alright album if you treat it like a punk album and skip the songs before they go on too long. I can see the appeal, but you’re also saying ‘This album is great if you skip half of it.’
There’s probably a severely edited down version that goes alright. Like if they played a St Anger medley live like they’d do for Justice sometimes.

I turned on secureboot to play the BF6 beta and it fucked with my Mint partition, even though it’s on a separate SSD. It was great but the anticheat and secureboot are so invasive it’s put me off getting it unless my friends do.
And I think I’d recommend Bazzite if you’re going to do any amout of gaming. I went with Mint because I didn’t want a ‘gamer’ distro, but I feel like there have been issues beyond my secureboot driver problems when it comes to games, I should have gone with something with all the prerequisites installed. You can go the normal version of Bazzite, not the one that boots directly into Steam Game Mode, and it’s just like any other desktop experience.

There seems to be all these weird sneaky ways to get extra support for Windows 10. Of course there’s one answer to not have to worry about Windows support at all

The work you’ve been putting in on these has been great. It will be good if you can find a balance between cheap catering and good food. If people aren’t happy then just say the location organised it

Brennan was good, as expected. He’s turned being a DM into a job alongside everything else he does.
But we also went to this burger place called Mad Patties and I got a vegetarian burger with a potato pattie. Essentially a hash brown in a bun, a great combination. One of those big, thick rostis you get from a hash stack at a cafe would make a great burger filling, I’m surprised I haven’t seen it sooner
