One of the boys had a fever and had to be picked up from childcare early on Monday. This resulted in the week up until now just being a fog of Trying To Get Things Done. Things are somewhat back to normal so we’ll see how things play out.
I got Bazzite working on the old work laptop. Silly me didn’t disable Secure Boot. It loads straight into Steam Big Picture on startup, so I wouldn’t use this version as my daily driver, but it would be great for handhelds and loungeroom PCs.
Also, Sleep Token have dropped a new album. I know some people on here dig them. I’m listening to it now.

Given the outcome, would it have really made a difference?

Surely they go the RMs because they’re one of the few brands that still use Goodyear welts on the soles so you can replace them. Not any fake poser reasons at all, surely…

Lots of fog heading into work this morning. It always looks cool

That’s amazing. I think my work being so close to home has made it a lot more tolerable than more interesting jobs further away

AMD plays much better with linux because all the drivers are open source. Their new flagship graphics card is cheaper than a 5080 and gets great performance. A good excuse to upgrade your GPU too if you go down the linux path

Yeah, WINE has come a long way since Steam uses it for the Steamdeck. It’s quite common for programs to run better on Linux than Windows now

Yeah, none of the major ones are on Linux. The simpler plugins should just work but anything that breaks your workflow too much will be a deal breaker.
I use waveform and it has a Linux version. Ardour is another DAW that’s been getting popular on Linux. It might be worth checking out

Should I ask how it got in the tree to start with?

It’s going to take a bit more work, but at least I have a massive partition of spyware out of the way for the moment

Looks like Bazza is installing on the old work laptop now. Bitlocker was getting in the way so I used command prompt to reformat the drive.
I had to use Windows to destroy the Windows.

I accidentally deleted an entire Facebook campaign at work today. I recreated it but it was just more time and panic.
The ads section of Facebook has such a terrible interface. It’s so clunky and confusing. You’d think that would be the one good part given it’s how they make their money

I don’t know if it’s still the case but you used to be able to redeem partial bills in Australia. Who knows, a bank might give you $6 for it.

It’s the fun world of tinkering with Linux. It actually makes computers interesting again, I’m always on the lookout for old gear to put it on and playing with different versions now.

It sucks that happened. I hope you can find something else and maybe French Persona helps you blow off some steam.

It does have a graphics card, and I want to check it out somewhere. I’ve got a gaming PC with w10 at the moment too, so this will be a good test run before I decide on a setup for the rig

That’s what the IT guy at work said. It feels odd given Dells are work computers mostly. There seems to be a GNU bash issue both times I’ve flashed it onto the thumb drive so I’m not sure if it’s the laptop or the media at this point.

I’ve taken the old work laptop home and I thought I’d try Bazzite on it. Apparently Fedora based distros don’t play well with Dell so if I still can’t get it to work I might try PopOS instead. Failing that, Mint Debian edition.

I’ve been playing around with work’s Marketing automation and it is so nice to use. So much better than Marketing Cloud. I can’t wait to get in there properly.
I may be able to convince the head office team to switch the CMS to drupal too. That combination would be dream working conditions for me, it would be crazy smooth workflow

It’s great you’ve been able to reflect on things in that way.
I wonder if there’s a balance, like two in the morning and one in the afternoon so you can get through work with enough energy at the end of the day without being too hyper.
But I get the medicine probably doesn’t work that way

That’s incredibly lucky. I love it when you accidentally get free things in the mail like that. I bought a digital radio for my mum once and got a free keyboard out of it because Dick Smith put the same tracking number on it, absolutely no way for them to trace it

With all the crazy names politicians have a Senator Purple Pingaz would be a nice change

I was more involved with them last election, I ended up being booth captain at one of the sites. Everything was pretty chill and they all seemed good. I’ve only dropped off because I had the boys.

I didn’t know he did porkbarrelling in his own seat. I know it’s what has kept Barnaby Joyce in all this time. It’s the acknowledgement that you operate on a national stage but you’re voted in by your seat. I wish more politicians would take that on board, even if it’s for selfish reasons.

The most important thing now is to see if Purple Pingerz makes the Senate
