I haven’t got my morning rain strategy down yet so I drove in today. I’ll take it as a leg break and maybe take the analogue bike tomorrow

There’s a real frog and nature theme running through his work. I wonder if he’s like a biologist or something and just makes harsh noise goregrind on the side

I remember the on the spot fines were so people wouldn’t contest fines in court since Myki wasn’t sound enough to holdup to legal scrutiny.
The inspectors were just there to scare people into making a quick buck so they wouldn’t contest the shaky system the tickets were built on.

Youtube Music suggested an artist called Phyllomedusa to me this morning. At first I was skeptical it was AI as he’s put out 6 albums this year alone. He’s on Encyclopedia Metallium and has been at it since 2007, consistently putting out multiple albums a year in the ‘froggrind’ genre, of which I think he’s the only member.
It was alright, snare was a little pingy. It makes you feel like you’re doing something right if the algorithm recommends something so weird to you. Better than all the regular artists they push on you.

There used to be tram conductors whose job was to help people. The ticket inspectors are just there to collect money

The first ride to work on the new bike went well. I didn’t properly record it but it seems like it takes about as long, could be a little bit faster than the regular bike. I also didn’t feel sweaty or the need to shower, so there’s a massive time saver there as well.
Overall, I think this has been a good move and I’m really happy with it

It looks like the mountain trails near my place might be feasible. I could take the new bike up those trails, cut out some annoying intersections, and hopefully save some time as well.
Either way, the council is working on a park and connecting those trails officially right now, so later in the year there will be this nice public space and more ways to get around

I fixed the smartplug issue. Turns out I had the grinder plugged into it, not the coffee machine. Good thing I figured that out before I had a certified Dad With Technology Moment

There’s plenty of options if you want to sus out a decent Z-lib mirror or get on tor to find the official deep web version.
The baseline kobos go pretty cheap too, or you could get a second hand kindle, jailbreak it - which is meant to be really easy, and install KOReader.
That’s the eBook app I use on my phone and it’s great. The interface is a bit intimidating at first, but it’s good once you get used to it

I’m looking at the trails near home to see if I can make the most if its mountain bike DNA to get to work faster

I think it’s the best use case for an ebike. The step through frame makes it comfortable to use and the mid-drive has a bit more power than a hub motor

I finally bit the bullet and got an ebike. Velectrix Adventurer. It’s pretty much a step through mountain bike, so it has front suspension, dropper post, fat tyres, and a stronger motor.
It also comes with mud guards, a rack, and integrated lights wired to the battery. Plus it has hydraulic brakes, which feels like the necessary minimum for an ebike.
There are higher spec bikes out there, but this is all I need for a 15km trip to work that I’ll do a few days a week in between regular bike rides.
I could have gone even more basic with the Velectrix Brunswick, but I thought my girlfriend could ride this one because of the frame and dropper post. It seems a little big, but I’d like to get her on there

I’ve been meaning to share I really like the windchime I bought over a year ago. I got a good one from Rivers of Yarrambat and it has been great. It sounds nice, opening the door to the backyard fills the room with a nice sound, and it hasn’t shown a sign of wear in that whole time.
I think placement makes a big difference, I lucked out putting it somewhere it doesn’t cop too much wind, so most days it gives a nice ambient sound without going wild.

Any chili oil stuff that’s from a smaller brand tends to be good. I picked up some stuff from a Mrs C’s Chili Oil and it has been great. It’s perfectly balanced where I know how much to add for a kick or massive spice

I’ll wait until we hit June then tell her I’ve already got plans. She can find out what they are closer to the date.

Going off that emoji I think we’ll be celebrating in similar ways.
I think I’ll drink too much beer and get stuck on the first boss, just like I did with the original Elden Ring.

Our Anniversary is towards the end of June and I’ve pretty much got the evening all planned. How long do you think I should wait before telling my girlfriend we have plans?
I wouldn’t tell her what it is just get, but maybe just to be like ‘keep your calendar clear on the 21st, I’ve got it all sorted.’

Yeah, looks like a valve problem as it should only steam out of there when the pressure is too much.
Have you tried it with less coffee or a coarser grind just to make sure it isn’t over filled? Same with making sure the water doesn’t go above the valve

I bought one of those wifi powerpoint timers yesterday. I got it connected to the app but it doesn’t seem to be working. Lets see if I can get it sorted or if it’s going to become one of those Dad Moments where I’m at war with an obtuse piece of technology wrapped in plastic

I’ve been dismissing the update on my phone for about 2 months now. Unfortunately they’re not designed to make phones better. Especially for an aging handset like mine

I rode to work today, which meant I had to ride home. But weather like this is never as bad as it looks once you’re out on the bike
