It seems like the kids’ laptop has developed a very spicy pillow. To the extent I can’t open the case to look at it. I’m hoping I can pry this thing open because whilst it’s from 2012 I’d rather save it from becoming ewaste. I just put Wacky Wheels on this thing for them!

We’re all going through it. I hope you start feeling better soon

I feel that. I’ve been considering a HSP as my finally better food. But I’m thinking I might go with a pepperoni pizza from a local, step above Dominos pizza place

I remember last time i was sick for days like this and hardly ate anything I got a quartet chicken and chips from my local charcoal chicken when I finally felt better. It tasted so good, I can still remember it.
I need to think about where I’m going to go when I get over this one

You’ve gotten through more than I have today and you have much more to deal with on an ongoing basis

Despite being glugged and having no energy today I managed to get my moue connected to the bazztop, an issue which has been bugging me for a long time

This one is outbursts from the other end. But I got whooping cough as a kid and I’ve never fully recovered

The way I’ve felt today I think I’m going to get this self imposed long weekend switched from AL to sick leave

It’s not showing the overlay of all windows and ALT+TAB only cycles in one direction, not alternating between most recently used windows. I can use it in the same way if I use ALT+TAB then ALT+SHIFT+TAB, but I need to remember which window is the regular and which is the SHIFT window.
I’m not sure if the multitasking settings will help, I’ve looked there and tinkered with the options and nothing has made a difference. The only thing I use multitasking for is turning off that annoying feature where Edge tabs come up in your ALT+TAB options

I’ve put a wrist strap on the vacuum phone because it’s just so wide and flat. Combine that with the camera bump and there are a few times it has flown out of my pocket from getting caught on the way out.
When we were at the Blue Lotus Watergardens the other week I was terrified of holding my phone out to get a photo and fumbling it into the water.
Modern phones are one thing that could convince me rich people are actually aliens or lizard people because these things are not made to be handled by human hands. They almost feel more suited to a tentacle or a rough padded lizard foot

That sucks to hear and I’m sorry you have to go through that amongst everything else. We say our health system is better than the US but it still has all these barriers to punish people just for needing the support it’s supposed to provide.

Take it easy. Is it stomach problems as well or just feels?
- Comment on Discussion Thread 🚢 Tuesday 21 April 2026 2 weeks ago:
It gets weirder. ALT+TAB works on the admin account on my PC but not my user account I do everything in.
- Comment on Discussion Thread 🚢 Tuesday 21 April 2026 2 weeks ago:
My stomach hasn’t been 100% but I’m at least doing a morning in the office because I have an open IT ticket.
ALT+TAB on my computer has stopped working properly. That’s not the sort of thing I thought could break. And you know what IT departments are like, if you can’t do things to their schedule they’ll just close the ticket

I decided to dig my camera out of the draw since I got my kids’ one each recently. I thought it might have been done for since it hasn’t been used since 2018, but i still have it’s specific charger and specific cable. After a couple of hours on charge it booted up

New shoes finally arrived. I’ve corrected my previous error and bought the shoes with the gore-tex so hopefully they’re a bit waterproof. It will be great for being a dad and riding to work

Spreadsheet isn’t ready yet so no painful meetings. My manager is working from home as well so I would have been doing calls over teams anyway. And it means I still lost the import lottery so I’ll be dealing with it at some point

I wanted to go in today because I need to go over a spreadsheet with my manager and looking st that over teams sounds like the worst thing in the world. But I slept in and it’s now too late to head in

I was wondering if I should say my phone is now living that plugged 24/7 life but thought it might be too off-colour. Thank you for going there first
- Comment on Discussion Thread 👽 Thursday 16 April 2026 3 weeks ago:
Suffering from success because I bought some magnetic cables where you leave a plug in your phone and the cable snaps to that instead of needing to plug it in. But the vacuum phone’s battery lasts so long and charges so fast I feel like I’ve hardly had a chance to use it.

I had to get out of the office this afternoon so I went for a walk around the nearby wetland.
I bought these cameras based on Kodak’s Charmeras and accidentally got an extra one, so I brought it with me and got some photos with it’s charming low quality snaps

You did the right thing. The MIL was trying to sell something once and someone tried to pull the classic PayID scam saying their husband worked in the area and would be the one to come pick it up, this was on a Sunday in a suburb with nothing nearby.
Then they said they had trouble transferring money online and if the MIL PayID’d them $1000 this person would send back the money plus the difference.

That’s quite the distance. Is there at least decent cycling infrastructure to and from?
- Comment on Discussion Thread 🐏 Monday 13 April 2026 4 weeks ago:
I’ve decided to just take the bike on the train for April to save my legs. Takes about as long as riding on the bike the whole way, and seems to be about 9kms instead of the usual 15.
So glad I’m not paying for it, to only cover about a third of the trip and not be any faster

So there has been a slight improvement. I noticed prices were down a few days ago and are back to what they were stinging is before again
- Comment on Discussion Thread 🐏 Monday 13 April 2026 4 weeks ago:
Petrol around here is still about $2.20 a litre, which it has been out this way for the past couple of years. Is the ‘price shock’ at the moment that people in the SE suburbs have to pay the same as what they’ve been charging us?
