Little Old Dog was sedated on Monday for Xrays and is still quite wobbly. He’s a little more lost than usual (this morning he got stuck between a bookcase and a wall in an area of the house he rarely ventures to), so it’s time to Senile Dog proof the house. Poor littlest love!

Oh poor little fella, sending hugs to senile pup 🤗
Catfish@aussie.zone 1 year ago
Naaaw. Squish.
Senile kitty proofing was a thing. She forgot how to meow so finding her got tricky.
SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 1 year ago
Oh no. Toby is so tiny, if he lost the ability to whine, I’d have lost him for ages this morning, he was in such an obscure spot. I blocked it from future access, but now I’m worried about all the other knooks and crannies he might be able to jam himself in… guess my evening is sorted!
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 1 year ago
so many gentle pats
melbaboutown@aussie.zone 1 year ago
Poor old bub. Keep him safe and give him some extra love
SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 1 year ago
Thank you! All the extra love for him while trying to keep him as happy and healthy as possible. Right now there’s far more good times than bad times for him, but definitely mindful that scale will tip.

Now I have the stroller transporting cats is easy so I just booked Theodore in for some vaccinations at Lort Smith. 🐱
Taleya@aussie.zone 1 year ago
ngl that’s why we bought ours way back. So much easier transporting felines in a wheeled conveyance than dragging a carrier full of weight-shifting whining lil’ bitch around
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 1 year ago
got tired of trying to coordinate goget cars and days off for vet visits, now I can go when ever I have to

I demand photos of the bum biter in his stroller.

Everyone encouraged to dress up for Halloween to work today. I’m going as an overweight, sleep deprived, depressed desk jockey.

What a coincidence, me too!!!

So the results are… nothing 😒No Buruli Ulcer but no anything else either. Doctor wants to just hand ball me to specialist. I showed him pictures I’d taken and said is it likely to be a form of Pityriasis. He agreed it could be, but said he wouldn’t like to guess. Funny, he didn’t mind guessing it was Impetigo and had me take antibiotics for a week while petrified I had an infectious disease. I said seeing as I’ve been using cortisone on it and it’s helping, can I get a script for more (I’m using miniest’s tube and it’s almost ran out) and he ummed and ahhed about that and said that because he wasn’t sure what it was he didn’t really want to prescribe anything. As for the specialist, $365 is absolutely no dice. It’s just not doable. It’s already cost me a day’s pay for this.
StudChud@aussie.zone 1 year ago
That’s fucked up. I mean, glad it isn’t buruli, but what else could it be?
It isn’t psoriasis is it? That responds to cortisone (I think) and is caused by everything from simple stress to other shitty diseases. If you send me a pic I can see if it looks like my psoriasis lol I think you still have my mobile number.
The Dr prolly is hesitant to prescribe cortisone without knowing what it is, as cortisone can make it worse. But if it’s helping… 🤷🏼♀️ I’m sorry that it’s so expensive. It fucking sucks how much a specialist can be, when not covered by insurance or Medicare. Ugh.

His Lordship copped fucking dyshidrotic eczema from covid - he’s on predniserone now and it seems to finally be kicking its arse
PeelerSheila@aussie.zone 1 year ago
Ooh that’s nasty, poor thing! Glad he’s getting over it, it’s so uncomfortable.
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 1 year ago
I’ve had pityriasis. Twice. So I know what the itch is like. Antihistamines are your friends.
PeelerSheila@aussie.zone 1 year ago
It’s weird isn’t it. When I got the herald patch there wasn’t any discomfort at all. Then the other rash started, and my goodness I showered too enthusiastically with a rough flannel but did it feel good.
melbaboutown@aussie.zone 1 year ago
I have a new unopened tube of cortisone cream I can peel my info off of if you have a PO Box to send it to? And could collect it as PeelerSheila…
I don’t meet people or ask for identifying info but if it’s a PO box I can send it anonymously one way
PeelerSheila@aussie.zone 1 year ago
Thankyou, I’ve got a bit of the Antroquoril left, and when it runs out I’ll go the sigmacort route.

Some viruses can leave people with weird rashes, good to hear it’s responding to some treatment.

$365
Ouch jeez some of them charge extreme prices.

So, Thom Yorke was amazing. I chatted to the person next to me… Quite young looking woman, asked her if she’d seen Radiohead before, no first time. Told her I’d seen them in 97. Wow, that was before they got big. my dad went to that tour, that’s where I got this shirt That show was 27 years ago… I was very likely at least double her age. I don’t know whether I should feel old as time itself or that I should assume it’s because of Radiohead being a timeless band and all that… Second one right?
Pilk@aussie.zone 1 year ago
Weren’t things a little… eventful?
calhoon2005@aussie.zone 1 year ago
Yeah. Very vocal Palestinian protest by one person at the last encore. Fair enough, but unfortunately I don’t think the crowd got on their side because of that interruption to the show and their yelling and anger towards Thom Yorke. Crowd actually felt quite tense until the protester decided to leave the venue. Just seemrd like an odd choice by the protester. Buy a ticket then wait until the final encore acoustic song to have their have their say in such an aggressive manner and tone…
Nath@aussie.zone 1 year ago
I don’t know where she got the idea that Radiohead weren’t huge before 1997. That was the year Ok Computer was released, and that’s about as big as Radiohead got.
calhoon2005@aussie.zone 1 year ago
She barely knew anything about ok computer…ie. last song was Karma police, she’d heard it before she thought… Different strokes I guess.

I don’t know how some people have so much energy and motivation. You know the ones. You get tired just looking at them. I want this superpower.
Duenan@aussie.zone 1 year ago
Neither do I.
I’m pretty grumpy and tired in the morning and listening to the animal farm of one of the workrooms when I get into work early in the morning and hearing it makes me even more exhausted.

Mr Woof must have wondered what was going on in the neighbourhood today. Our evening walk took us past all sorts of characters - a witch, a walking skeleton, the grim reaper and a walking pumpkin!

Today was one of those “can I just tell the client to go fuck themselves?” kind of days.

Boy racer out the car window: yah red headed slut! 5min later 60ish woman: you look adorable
Can’t please them all, and why would you want to?

Day off for uni, working from home, trying not to have a total wobble over feeling like maybe this was all a mistake. I’m in too deep now! But as I get older I certainly find myself craving security over novelty and excitement. Kinda sad because I feel like I am shrinking as a person. It’s not too late to claw back a sense of wonder and discovery though.

Happy Halloween. Ooooooooooooo (is that the noise that ghosts make?)
Duenan@aussie.zone 1 year ago
Frustrating experience today with being led astray with google maps. Ended up driving and wasting so much time this afternoon through so much roadworks.
Might have been easier to pay for postage next time considering the petrol wasted.
Well at least I’m finally home and can see if my new wares fit else it’s a return trip back there this weekend.

Anyone else noticed generic brands being out of stock a lot at Colesworths?
First the generic peanut butter was out of stock for quite a long time, the generic paper cat litter is still unavailable, now it’s the decaf instant coffee and cocoa powder. And the prices are still a gouge.
If it was more possible for me I’d be predominately shopping at Aldi
Duenan@aussie.zone 1 year ago
Been awhile since I’ve used 7-11 fuel lock but they’ve capped the discount to 25c a litre now which effectively makes the discount useless.
I hated 7-11 to begin with now I’m really not going to buy from them anymore.

Why does life have to be so difficult…
The irony is that if it weren’t for a few huge things I don’t have control over, I could be happy and satisfied with the life I have.

Plex migration update: Gave up on Debian, installed Mint. Mint installed great, more options in the GUI this looks promising. It wants an update, no worries go for, reboot aaaaaand it no longer boots. You have got to be shitting me linux. Installed windows, replaced plex files and looks to have completely failed. Gave up in frustration and went to bed.

Ted n me went on an adventure to the park. He found sitting down to be easiest. He loved looking at all the birds tho some did not like him, he sniffed the sniffs and watched ducks swimming and people and cars on the busy streets but he was glad to be home and sat up once we got back to our little courtyard
