A garden ornament I’ve got fell over! It’s a white faux marble lady holding up a flattish bowl thing with a plant on it. The plant ended up on the ground but the right way up with not a crumb of dirt spilled 😅

There is a lot of it around, and plenty of it is mediocre as you’ve discovered. They use and sell Bippi where I work and it’s ok for what we use it for (Italian style foods that have a little kick in the background like a la vodka sauce, but nothing that’s going to kick your arse with heat).

I love Cempasuchil Mexican Tijuana oil, if you ever see it. I especially love the Oaxacan oil (it’s got a smoky flavour). I used to work with the lady who makes it and the Tijuana oil doesn’t mess around.

I can’t stand that posh-a ting bitchy blonde woman with her bushranger-bearded sub husband. I guess, given the formula of these shows, she’s the one that’s been put there as “the one you love to hate,” but ok you got me 🙋🏼♀️Those bogan chicks are hard to look at and even harder to listen to! People who think that “keeping it real” is an excuse to be rude and obnoxious. Love the two nurses. Don’t think much of the other couple either.

Not sure what they’re like new now, so forgive if this isn’t real helpful, but I’ve got a 10 year old Fisher and Paykel 6kg top loader that’s still chugging along fine touches wood. My washer has to go in a tight spot which doesn’t allow for a front opening door. I also have knee issues which override any pleasure obtainable from watching a front loading “laundry telly” 😆

Talking with the kids before about the half time entertainment at the grand final. I mentioned Kylie Minogue and Miniest looked at me blankly and said, “I don’t know who that is.” Neither did Elder. 😮Played snippets of popular and recent songs and showed her a picture or two. Nope, genuinely no idea at all. The eldest was trying but also had no idea 🤯It occurred to me that Kylie Minogue is 58 years old. How did she suddenly(!) become 58 years old?! To be fair they had no idea who the other performers were either 🤷🏼♀️

I’ve read anything I can get my hands on written by Jane Harper lately, but was recently struggling with a book that seemed too romancey and uninteresting to me. Wow, what a disappointing departure in style, I thought. Where is the gritty tension of The Dry or What Happened to Nina? I thought. Realised it was by Jane E Harper, completely different person 🤦🏼♀️At least Iain Banks and Iain M Banks were the same person!

I’ve been unwell since Friday night (headache, sore muscles, hot and cold, sinus congestion, sneezing for Australia). COVID test was negative 😅 But I’m feeling better today and I’m going to drag my sorry arse out for some groceries and fresh air. Seems nice out there.

You aren’t overreacting. I can’t add much given the excellent comments and advice you’ve already received here. My immediate worry was the costs, like the owners fees and whatnot. Are you expected to pay 100% of those? Pretty outrageous of your Olds actually, if that’s the case. Also, regarding the whole “why would you need to go in there” question: even empty unused rooms need to be cleaned regularly. Dust, mould and pests can still accumulate if places are closed up. They need a dust, vacuum and open curtains and windows to freshen the place up even if they’re not in use. Do your folks expect it to be sealed like a tomb? Seems a bit silly. What if “their” bathroom has a leak? Or the roof leaks?

It is , we’re quite civil most of the time these days. I had to let go of a lot of resentment about the past. When we had kids I expected him to be my “other half” but he wasn’t and there’s no point dwelling on that now. We were both different people back then, and I realised it was my own resentment which was stopping me from moving forward now and just living a happy life.
