A gallery with a nice place to eat 🤔 That actually sounds really good. Those places are usually quiet, which is great because we’ve got a lot to catch up on.

Sounds lovely, though I’m thinking somewhere quieter maybe.

Thankyou! The city or immediate surrounds is probably easier for both of us.

Catching up with a friend I haven’t seen for 30 years on Saturday afternoon. We reconnected recently and now she’s back in Australia. Just not sure where to go! I’m going to ask them at work, they all actually go out to grown up places 😆Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Work related. At the time I set up this account I was peeling around 80kg of potatoes per day.

Yay my pay fell out of the cloud finally and into my bank account! 🤸🏼♀️ Thankyou for your kind words this morning guys, it really helped me emotionally!

All he knows is the money has gone from his account. There was an industry outage affecting merchant payments to external accounts earlier this week, so it’s been caught up in that somehow.

Thankyou. Listen, cloud, listen!

Still haven’t gotten my pay 😕 It’s in the damn cloud somewhere. Had to transfer money out of my kids bank accounts to cover direct debits. I feel deeply ashamed.

Ugh. Pay day is usually Monday. Boss did pays Monday (public holiday doesn’t bother him, he’s been known to go in and do our pays on Christmas Day if that’s the payday!) but there’s some kind of banking problem with payments for merchants to external accounts. I still haven’t been paid 😮💨 Hopefully tomorrow! 🤞🏼

Good morning! Survived the heat. Puts other hot weather into a weird relative perspective, “Oh, it’s only going to be 30°C on Friday.”

I’m working on pizza duty tomorrow so resting as much as possible. Did some laundry though.

That’s the one we’ve got, the same colour even 😆 When I bought it I didn’t think it’d be so difficult for her to use because I didn’t think at all about the child proof aspect of it. At this point I think we’re due for a whole new stove but my ex MIL/landlady says that you’re not allowed to get a gas one to replace it and it’d have to be electric.

That looks pretty good too actually.
- Comment on Discussion Thread 🧀 Saturday 24 January 2026 3 weeks ago:
That’s how we do it. But she’s got to light the lighter two-handed, let one hand go once it’s lit to turn the gas on without letting go of the trigger, get the gas lit and not accidentally turn the knob the other way, this lighting the stove and immediately turning it off again 🤣 we’ve had a few good laughs about it!

An electric frypan eh? 🤔 That’d be handy when she makes pancakes. It’s a good idea and I’ll look into it, bench and cupboard space be damned! She likes to cook noodles and pasta and she’s getting the hang of a Bolognese. The stove lighter we’ve got is a trigger one but it’s got a button thingy you have to push at the same time. Pushing both buttons to operate the lighter whilst being mindful to turn on the gas jet at the right time is a feat of coordination she’s still getting used to.
