Had big plans for a big spring clean but have spent most of the weekend crashed. Keep falling asleep. Finally made it out for a walk and some groceries. Just how it is I guess. Have managed to restart a book I put down months ago and binge some slow horses so …that’s a win yeah?

What treadmill did you get? Would like one but am in a one bedroom apartment so keep deciding against. And keen to hear updates - am trying to just organically move. Got up and went for a swim at 6am thins week. But have lost so much strength since my pre COVID yoga days I just get discouraged. I like hearing from others on the same journey not like influencers

Oh yes. I got sick as a kid with something that caused them and now I get one or two mild ones often if I am about to come down with the flu. Salt water gargle bit weirdly avoid salty or acidic food. Bonjela helps (do they still make that?)

And my new freezer cube meal prep is paying off. I had some extra tomatoey marsala gravy from a previous curry and so I froze it and some leftover coconut cream from previous meal.
WFH day today so lunch was cube of marsala gravy, small portion of the coconut cream, portion of onion-celery-carrot mix, portion of frozen spinach. All dumped in the instant pot with lentils, a stock cube and water. Served over defrosted rice portions.
So so yum and so easy. Thanks past me!

I want to have a schedule but life has been chaotic with long work days and other health issues making me exhausted so I am trying to just do one thing every day even if tiny. Otherwise I feel terrible that I have broken the schedule 😔 thanks.

Thanks! I do a bunch of these but some are new and helpful. I need to declutter so have put tubs strategically around the place for stuff without a home. And luckily I don’t have roaches here (my 18months of German roach hell from living next to a hoarder still makes me gag). I just managed a good hour while on the phone to a friend. Gonna do floors then meal prep now

Having a lot of trouble cleaning lately. Life has been stressful and I have managed work sleep and food, and ok levels of outside and social time but I am in a deep funk when it comes to house chores. See one thing, see a second and third, brain overloads and I sit scrolling. Or today I come home ready to start and crash out asleep.
This is all ok EXCEPT that having a cluttered not clean place is pulling my mental health down. Ugh…I have a big tub to dump in anything out of place so I can try to clear and clean. Wish me luck.

I really liked it 😊 lighter than the book and less politics but that’s appropriate. I thought they captured the visuals really well and all the adaptations were spot on. Ryan Gosling is a treasure 💙

Recommend warm shower or if you can’t stand that long just splash water on your face, drink water and taste it and stand breathing concentrating on the soles of your feet on the floor.
Or if you can’t get up yet. Phone down . Close eyes and listen for all the sounds you can hear.

Here are a few things that have helped me when grieving. Take or leave
- something really small that’s just nice that you can either look forward to or savour. Ginger tea or sweet black tea - just sipping and enjoying is my go to. Or finding a eucalyptus and just putting my hand on it and saying good morning. Tiny tiny tiny little rituals.
- use some external thing to drown out the rumination. For me that’s ABC late night radio, a few really low stakes podcasts (dear Hank and John is my current one) yoga lectures, audiobooks. Just something I can listen to and not the thoughts. I call it constructive disassociation.
- on audiobooks the ABC listen app has a whole heap of free classics as audiobooks. Classics are great because they are a bit dull. I read all of Asimov’s books and others when my sister was dying
- emergency relief. Sure you know the basic panic attack stuff. Look up humming breath and ujjayi breath. Lie on your back with legs up (e.g. resting on bed) or in fetal position with cushion between legs and do one of these. The noise helps calm .
- I will pop more thoughts in if anything helps. You know the basics - sleep, water, food, sun, move. But these are some little weird things that have helped. Also I sometimes set a timer. I will crap into bed and curl up. Set alarm for 15 mins. Feel it all for an amount of time the get up shower/move/glass of water and big breath. The timer is more about permission to let go then “you must be done and up again now” if that makes sense. The trick is letting it out/integrate while still living in the littlest of ways.

Hope it goes well and there’s every chance it’s easily dealt with. You said (I think) they thought you were a bit hyperthyroid. That’s manageable and will give you racing heart. Even if it’s something else there’s meds and minor surgery that can fix. Lots of options if you catch stuff now! But yeah I have massive health anxiety around heart stuff so I get the stress. 🤞🏻🤞🏻💙

I am a little tipsy but stuff it. I am ordering one more wine and a packet of salt and vinegar chips for dinner. I have just slipped into relaxed for the first time this week and I am going with it (that’s ok right?)
