I believe its ok but thanks. I stuck my head in the roof cavity and all ok and I got it turned off nearly immediately. A bit of the plastic is melted and the fine mesh.

Holy crap. Oil in the wok was a bit too hot/water content in food a bit to high and oil splattered onto the gas burner - whoosh. got it stopped but not before it made a mess of the range hood. Holy crap that was close. Gonna need a new rangehood (from whom does one even buy a rangehood?). Excuse me while I go freak out in the corner for a bit

Not much to add to the other advice except that if she can have full medical attention and at least some food into her some of the anxiety and other issues might reduce. I have seen that happen with my ex-gradma in law. Refused everything, couldn’t manage meds, told her daughter the most awful things when she was moved to a home, but she thrived there. Might not help, but it’s pretty awful now plus you are trying to just keep her alive. Get the professionals in so you can be there in other ways.

Opened what I thought was a sealed container and got a face full of pantry moths (EWWWW) so it appears my quick clean up the other day was not enough. So cooking morning became all out pantry war morning. Oh well, everything old that was not sealed (and passed inspection) kept, new stuff had already been frozen overnight, everything else chucked. Wipe down and dosed up the cedar balls with more oil and hung back up. Ugh. I buy a lot of stuff in bulk which is more convenient and cheaper but I had been getting lazy with the freezing and sealing.
Quick break then back to it. I shall have a belly and freezer full of lamb tagine by the end of the day.

unKAOS achieved (or at least started). Clothes away; rubbish out; kitchen/bathroom/deskspace/dining table cleared and cleaned. Floors vaccuumed and mopped. Bedroom still dusty - my carpet fitting on the vac is playing up and i need to fix it.
But good enough for today. Cupboards and shower need a. Deep clean but i can tackle that one at a time.
Now. Might pick up some wine and head back to pups place. Now i don’t dread coming home later this week

Sipping coffee and having cuddles with the old pup i am dog-sitting. This is my second dog sit this month and it’s really helped with my burnout to get out my my apartment and hang out with puppies. And my friend left me a stocked fridge and a clean house so it’s like a little holiday. But today’s plan - another coffee and bite to eat then head back to my place and do an unKAOS for a few hours. I think i will time limit it. Its not horrific but definitely the home of someone who’s been drowning and it makes me sad…i would like to get it back so it’s reset and it can start actually decluttering
puppy tax...there's a little old man under there somewhere

Can see both sides. Is there some way to make it a ritual? At a time of day sit/hug her? Like morning and night, hug and talk to her, then move. I am not saying move on or that you restrict your feelings but I find it helps to ritualise grief, by allowing it it’s space you can feel all the feelings and also live? Sorry not being articulate. (For reference triggered to cry my eyes out over someone who’s been gone for a decade today. So I get it. Any way through is ok. )
