Thanks team. I have come down from that panic. Had a little catch up with workmates and we have some plans for the next week to help with workload and I am not actively panicking now. Thanks for being a safe place to scream. ♥️♥️

Thanks. Saved that list to use when I need to pick something in a hurry again. I get panic attacks really rarely. I am trying a few old trick right now and will get to the doctor if I can’t get through this patch.

I actually did a breathing exercise on there just before.
No no EAP. Should look into suggesting we get one though

I will try that. I have had Tales Under The Oak’ new album on repeat - it’s like dreamy old PC game music and little stories.

Anyone got any go to meditations/music/actions for dealing with panic attacks? My go tos are not working.
Title
Am having a really bad mental health day today. Have a bunch of things at home and work that are just overwhelming me and had to deal with snappy mcsnappheads this morning venting and correcting me while I was trying to do a simple handover to another staff member. Really fighting the urge to go and hide literally and figuratively. Come on brain. Just do something. Can’t face doing the GP and psych referral dance. I am hoping this is all externally caused and will pass. Just feeling very alone and panicked. No I can’t escalate the work stuff…I am where the buck stops for this particular stuff. I am just so sick of being a grown up.

Yell out if you find any issues. I use Ubuntu as my biz laptop. Zoom and IIRC Webex are ok and I have had to work around document compatibility a bit so I know some tricks :)

I’ve been on linux for years. LibreOffice is prettty good as an MS office replacement. I don’t play a lot of PC games so I’ve never missed that. I reckon you’ll be fine.

Yay. Welcome (back?) to the Tux team! I realised how many old photos I still have stored on Facebook the other day. I think un-cloud-ifying is going to be one of my long term projects too. So I look forward to hearing how you go.

Nope. Agree with Raven - if I am popping round someones house or maybe meeting at the beach or somewhere casual they will be at anyway then it might be a range and I text when I am on my way/know firmly. But meeting somewhere I give a time. And also usually update when I am on the way . It’s just polite. I always figure 10 mins either side is reasonable wobble room.

Been a bit flat this weekend but have managed to put away most of Mt washmore…start a new load to dry by the window. Bought food, cooked rice and now have lentils going for part of my meal prepping. Cleaned the bathroom sink. I would say there is 16.7% less KAOS then at the start of the weekend.
About to get a coffee and catch up on some work. Have a big report due this week and really want some time today to break it’s back. I will try really hard to take time in lieu for it though…

I hear ya. It’s so much stress to front up to the GP and it’s such a relief to be listened to and helped. So glad you got some practical steps. You got this

Home is chaos but I chose to prioritise food and friends this weekend. This week I am aiming to eat fresh and lower fat/sugar. And to get up between 6/6:30 each day. I need to.slot into a rhythm

So after many many months I have finished my listen of all the Terry Pratchett Discworld books in order. Had read a couple before but not the series and the newish penguin audiobooks are great. Such good company as I potter around cooking and stuff. Such incredible storytelling and characters.
Now I am a bit lost. What should I listen to next? Any good long form podcasts or audio series out there? Non fiction is fine but not current affairs. I get enough news and try to limit the doom…I currently have an audible account but might ditch the subscription now this big listen is done…
