Hope you feel better soon! If you can stomach it, eating something with fibre might help move things along and reset the microbiome.

I agree. Wish they would sell plain ones, then I can flavour them myself. The time consuming part is the chopping and threading. To sprinkle some spice mix, or mixing some honey soy garlic in a bowl and pouring over is the quick part.

I think we are ok here. The current petrol price hike might be painful for some people, but big picture is that it’s tolerable in our economy. We are lucky to be one of the richest countries in the world and self sufficient in food supply. We can afford higher prices for essential imports compared to the rest of the world. No one is turning the lights out. Most of the current petrol shortages are in smaller towns where people panic bought by filling up jerry cans and farm bulk containers, thereby stripping the servo tanks unexpectedly. The next truck is still coming in schedule.

I hate it, getting treated like a criminal. (But it sounds like there’s gonna be a super nice platter at your place this week!)

It’s a quantity issue, they have a policy where they insist people scan big items first. I can’t understand it, I’m guessing they think you will steal it? Look I may have gone up a size in recent times, but no way is a 24 pack of TP is fitting in my pocket.
- Comment on Discussion Thread 🐞 Wednesday 11 March 2026 3 days ago:
Yeah after covid I always play it safe, when I’m down to half my bulk pack I buy the next one. If the world’s ending I wanna use the toilet in comfort.

Coles needs to calm tf down with the scan toilet paper first policy. The attendant at self checkouts today was so aggressive, patrolling the queue like she was searching for contraband and getting up close pointing at peoples trolleys and literary intervening at the checkouts, stopping them mid scan and making them put down whatever was in their hand loudly telling them to scan TP or soft drink slab etc first. It’s offensive.

This is great advice and I feel like I’m in this category too. A lot of health and fitness info is so harsh - eat lettuce and do sweaty workouts 5 times a weeks. I’m uninterested in anyone yelling at me in boot camp or never eating a carb again. I would resent it and it be miserable. I agree sustainability is key. I’ve lost 2.5kg since January. That might seem like slow progress but I’m aiming to loose 8 to get to my ‘regular’ weight, so I reckon that’s ok. I still eat pasta and chocolate. Just less. I’m also thinking of getting a walking pad as the next step, but was worried about motivation. But I’ll try.

I too would like to know where the motivation shop is. Willing to sell a kidney.

There comes a point in maths and physics that there is no more ‘why’. The answer is ‘it just is’. Based on our current knowledge, some things are just fundamental rules of the universe, there is no why. We accept the rule and use it in calculations and theories.

I’m so sorry. Don’t be hard on yourself, you did everything right. Mel cat was loved, it was just her time. Do what you need to do to look after yourself.

My cutlery set has bigs and smalls and I don’t really use the smalls. I think cutlery sets should come with fork, knife, spoon, teaspoon. Optional extras are cake fork and long teaspoon/sundae spoon/parfait spoon.

Pre internet dating you were more likely to date someone from your social group, uni, work, friends of friend’s, etc. So you both had a better sense of each others dating status. (ie seeing someone else) But, that didn’t automatically mean x number of dates puts a label on anything. Everyone’s different, take things fast or slow, whatever feels right for you. It’s no one’s decision but yours.

That’s horrific. But I really really really don’t agree with the explanation for murder being because someone was banned from social media or didn’t play outside enough, so of course they’re gonna go murdering?! You’re right about one thing though, these kids are growing up in families where no one cares about them. The parents are disinterested in what the kid is doing socially, where they are at 3am on a Tuesday, if they are doing ok in school, if the 10 knives and 3 machetes the kid has in their bedroom seems normal. The kids themselves are motivated by approval of their peers, kudos, and no repercussions. I don’t know what the answer is.

Agree that’s great value. These days it’s standard to pay $25 for avocado toast that comes with 1 slice of bread, some greying avocado and 1 egg. Oh, and don’t forget the 4 sprigs of micro herbs on top and a half teaspoon smear of beetroot relish on the plate which is useless to scrape up onto the food.

Glass more practical if you plan to microwave straight in the container. Stainless is lighter and won’t break if you drop it. Dilemmas!

Had a terrible nights sleep woke up with a head ache. Decided breakfast will be hot cross bun with artery clogging amount of butter and a strong latte and it’s helped significantly.

I hope today is a better day. You’re allowed to be firm with the rescue person. They probably mean well and don’t know how stressful this is for you. ‘I can’t right now, and please don’t pressure me further’ is perfectly ok to say.
