Recently helped an elderly man use the self checkout at the supermarket. Seemed not something he did regularly. The only thing he was buying was flowers. I’m sure there’s a story there and it’s probably sad.

So annoying. And sometimes we pay more locally than the exported stuff costs overseas.

First time trying Bravo apples. Better than gala or pink ladies I think. Might be my new favourite.

The weather is so strange the last few days. Middle of June and there’s a warm breeze at 8am?

Why only call centres? If you’re looking for work that doesn’t require any particular qualification, there are heaps of options. Retail, hospitality, admin, data entry, reception, etc. The process of job hunting is always shit. But hopefully you can find something that is at least in a different industry, so you don’t start out with the past bad experiences on your mind? Sending lucky vibes your way.

It’s not for long. Might be a boring week with only plain foods or being repetitive to keep low risk and keep your mind at ease. But worthwhile so you can get some answers.

It was a good show. I miss shows like that. Sci-fi theme, bit of action, lots of humour, and lots of episodes per season. We’ll probably never see that style of tv again.

Making your own doughnuts is not that hard, but it is a bit time consuming and the frying can make a bit of a mess. But, if I had the choice of never eating a doughnut again or occasionally making my own, worth doing!

I recently bought a pair of scissors at supermarket self checkout and same. I am nowhere near 18, was bit of a laugh. The attendants must hate it.

On a recent trip to Ikea I bought some Swedish lingonberry jam. It’s a nice red jam, but not as nice as raspberry or strawberry so not worth a special trip to Ikea to buy it. Also tried a new Pilates place, I’m trying to get a bit more active.

That is so frightening!! ! How did he get in, was door unlocked? First thing is safety, ie make sure it can’t happen again, lock doors. Ask husband why he’s not bothered? Maybe he genuinely believed the kids story? But honestly I don’t know any teenager that ‘accidentally’ walks into the wrong house. Was probably trying to rob the place and then decided to back down and made up an excuse when confronted by an older male. Had you been in the house by yourself, who knows maybe the intruder would have calculated differently. You did the right thing calling the police.

I’m sad that Neil Daniher died. It was inevitable but still sad. He spent the sickest years of his life advocating for awareness and research into an awful disease. Hope all the donations lead to some discoveries.

As someone who has always lived in the burbs, I know what you mean. But the way I look at it, if someone is too snobby to visit me and always expects me to be the one making the effort to visit them, then that’s not a great friendship and it’s ok if it tapers off. It’s also good if you can make some local connections. There’s sports clubs, book clubs, community garden groups, etc depending on what you’re into.
