There it is

sebsch@discuss.tchncs.de 3 weeks ago
Just change the icon to the chrome ones.
umbrella@lemmy.ml 3 weeks ago
firefox, and get an adblocker on it
BottleOfAlkahest@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
It looks like he has chrome pinned to his task bar in the bottom left.
TwoBeeSan@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
You cannot make enough shortcuts for the elderly.
CaptKoala@lemmy.ml 3 weeks ago
You can, but a desktop composed of entirely shortcuts to chrome I suspect wouldn’t be enough.
Kolanaki@yiffit.net 3 weeks ago
There is also a second desktop icon in the upper left, in the 3rd column.
parpol@programming.dev 3 weeks ago
Firefox is a much easier icon to find.
TastyWheat@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
I’d nearly forgotten all about Vista.
jol@discuss.tchncs.de 3 weeks ago
This looks like windows 7
AtariDump@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
The start button whose circle is larger than the start menu gives it away that it’s probably Windows Vista
Blue_Morpho@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
Right click desktop, create new, folder: Junk
Drag drop everything but that chrome icon into Junk.
blind3rdeye@lemm.ee 3 weeks ago
Cool picture. But Chrome? Why?
Hiro8811@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
This meme is old as fuck, he has GTA SA and windows 7
DreamlandLividity@lemmy.world 2 weeks ago
GTA SA is dope even today :D
orphiebaby@lemm.ee 3 weeks ago
Not all the pointing people are old memes.
HEXN3T@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 weeks ago
It’s like a “water this way” sign in the middle of a desert. The better solution is to get Librewolf and replace the icon with a Chrome one.
Custodian1623@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
Good way to end up with passwords written on sticky notes
AA5B@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
Instead of fixing the symptom, maybe you could address the underlying problem of all that clutter on the desktop. ….or pin it somewhere it won’t be encroached by new files
Nelots@lemm.ee 3 weeks ago
It’s pinned to the taskbar.
GreyEyedGhost@lemmy.ca 3 weeks ago
There are at least twice as many icons s on his desktop as on mine!
ILikeBoobies@lemmy.ca 3 weeks ago
It is pinned to the taskbar
Also the first icon in column 4
Master@lemm.ee 3 weeks ago
All of those files look very important and need to stay where they are…
MonkderDritte@feddit.de 3 weeks ago
…then he complains i made a mess.

If you really wanted to have a good time, you could screen-shot everything as is and make that the desktop, then put all the real shortcuts into a folder on the desktop anywhere and watch the fun ensue
GreedyYardHippos@kbin.social 3 weeks ago
The shortcut was at the tip of the penis
Thrickles@lemm.ee 3 weeks ago
I understood that reference.
strongarm@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 weeks ago
Never use your desktop to store shortcuts, unless they are very temporary, and then clear up often.
You have a taskbar and start menu to organise and find everything you need, you can even do startup applications.
Lizardking27@lemmy.world 2 weeks ago
My dude what do you think a desktop is for?
AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world 2 weeks ago
Wallpapers, obviously.
strongarm@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 weeks ago
Keeping what you’re working on available.
It’s not a fileing system
TarantulaFudge@startrek.website 3 weeks ago
Most of the time my desktop is covered, so I use folders on the toolbar

some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 3 weeks ago
That’s pretty funny! Thanks for making me smile.

Legit makes my day to make someone smile :)
volvoxvsmarla@lemm.ee 3 weeks ago
Can you share the background?
ickplant@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
volvoxvsmarla@lemm.ee 2 weeks ago
Thank you! I don’t know what I’ll put in the middle yet, that’s such a big decision
ManniSturgis@lemmy.zip 3 weeks ago
Didn’t think about icons being on a grid, eh? Whoever made this had to turn it off to place the Chrome icon there. Amateur move
elrik@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
That’s awesome - nice work!

nexussapphire@lemm.ee 2 weeks ago
You use desktop icons?
ummthatguy@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
While I love the background, the cluttered mass of icons makes my eye twitch. A modicum of organization, please.
sinokon@feddit.de 3 weeks ago
The only perfect background is to disable all icons and keep it black
XCraftMC@sh.itjust.works 3 weeks ago
Okay, Patrick Bateman
rob_t_firefly@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
I see a background
And I want it painted black
No icons anymore
I want my desktop black
GissaMittJobb@lemmy.ml 3 weeks ago
I’ve used and enjoyed that kind of setup a while back, but my new favourite is to have something that rotates different backgrounds. macOS has their dynamic wallpapers which you can set to cycle through different ones on a regular basis, which I really like. I still don’t like having any icons, though.
On Android, I use Muzei to get a different artwork as my background every day. It’s also very nice.
ickplant@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
Same. I would go insane with a desktop like that.
gregorum@lemm.ee 3 weeks ago
The icons made your eyes twitch, but the Vista didn’t?
DaGeek247@fedia.io 3 weeks ago
You're sure it's not 7? I loved the glass that 7 had.
ummthatguy@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
The lesser of problems, I’d wager. Managed to bypass Vista… and 8. shudders
peopleproblems@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
Hah, as if you’d ever see the icons behind the millions of things I have running
sentient_loom@sh.itjust.works 3 weeks ago
Yeah what is this 2006?
